The Prince's Unwilling Mate is a werewolf romance novel by Matya that tells the story of Ayla Hemming, a small but strong-willed wolf who feels like an outcast in her pack. Despite her valuable human lineage, she faces ridicule and rejection, even from David, her best friend and fated mate. Her life changes when Prince Griffin, still grieving the loss of his previous mate, announces a search for a new one. Reluctantly attending a royal ball, Ayla gets caught up in a world of power and passion, where Griffin sets his sights on her, determined to prove that true love and destined mates can exist even for those with painful pasts. Together, they navigate their feelings and challenges, exploring the possibility of love in unexpected circumstances.
Ayla Hemming had a small wolf, and she would have nearly been the pack's most dejected wolf if not for the fact that she had an influential background, and her friends were at the top of the hierarchy of her pack. That was the only way Ayla managed to escape being bullied, even though it still occurred for her from time to time, it was not heavy. Ayla was friends with the Alpha's son, David, and being the Alpha's son automatically made him the Alpha-In-Waiting, so, Ayla was convinced that one way or the other, David would be her fated mate and she considered it the perfect union because they were already best of friends.

Ayla Hemming is a she-wolf from the Blood Moon Pack, the daughter of the pack's lead warrior. Despite her noble lineage and friendship with the Alpha's son, Daniel, Ayla endures constant bullying due to her small size. She clings to the hope that she is the fated mate of David, the Alpha's son, believing he would accept her as his mate when the time comes. However, her dreams shatter when David outright rejects her during the revelation of their bond. This rejection intensifies the bullying she faces, particularly from Hannah, who believes she is the better match for David.
Amidst her struggles, Ayla learns about an upcoming royal ball where the Alpha Prince will choose a mate, either by fated connection or as a selected mate. Despite her parents encouraging her to attend, Ayla feels she has little chance of being chosen, especially considering her small wolf stature. However, she agrees to attend the ball before leaving for the White Oak Pack, where her grandparents live. As she prepares for the ball, Ayla discovers that her sister, Kate, has found her mate. This situation complicates matters further, as Kate's mate is the cousin of Ayla's main bully, Hannah. The Prince's Unwilling Mate Chapter 5
'Honestly, I have no issues with Ayla going to the Royal Ball. But we all know the likelihood that the prince will choose her as the Luna of all Lunas is extremely small. Tell me how it benefits our pack if she was not to return to us after the ball.'
Just like his son, David, Alpha Phillip of the Blood Moon Pack, the very pack that Ayla was from, did not believe in her for a split second in life, so he said the above words to her. This chapter of The Prince's Unwilling Mate Novel describes what happened between Ayla's parents and the Alpha of their pack. The Alpha, Phillipe was not used to liaising with any other pack if it was not beneficial to him or the Blood Moon Pack, and so he was against Ayla moving to the White Oak Pack following the rejection she had faced in the hands of his son, David, and the extreme bullying that came with her rejection.
Ayla's parents tried to convince Alpha Phillipe that letting Ayla leave the Blood Moon Pack was the only way to protect her from bullying especially from Hannah, another she-wolf who took it upon herself to disturb the life of Ayla just because she had been jealous of Ayla's closeness and proximity to the Alpha-In-making of the Blood Moon Pack, David Birch.

The Prince's Unwilling Mate Chapter 6
In this chapter, Ayla's melancholy was palpable. Her family had discovered the atrocities Hannah had inflicted on her, and they were flooded with remorse. Her siblings even contemplated the idea of escaping with Ayla to a distant place to take her away from the pain, but she, aware that they should not sacrifice their welfare for her, declined their proposal. Later, lying on her bed, she reflected on the apparent indifference of the Moon Goddess to her agony, shedding tears until she was exhausted and wondering if she would ever really find someone to love her or if she would no longer have a second chance with her fated mate.
