Feeling desolate, I stood on my feet, but she hastily questioned, "what happened?" "I am leaving," I replied shortly. "What? Wait! You can't leave," she seemed to be panicked. "Yeah, I can. I am not getting this job, right? So, what is the use to waste my time on the thing which is already predictable," I state preparing to leave. She turned pale in no time and the wrinkles of nervousness were clearly visible on her face, nevertheless, she still was trying her best to persuade me, "I... I have no idea about that, I just want to suggest you not leave after waiting this long. You better not give up, coming this far. Who knows if luck is in your favor?" "I am not interested to chat about luck and all. I really don't believe in such bullshit..." I retorted and turned to leave.

"We are living in an era where it is difficult to find someone who was not broken before...!"

Helena's POV

I stepped out of the car throwing my bag on my right shoulder and collected all my hair on the left side. Raising my head, I scanned the crystal building top to button.

"This is it, Ritu. You can do it. You are not going on a war. So stop trembling," I cheered myself up with my gaze fixed at the crowded elevator standing at a distance.

Making my way towards the elevator, I started to mumble, "Great, first day of office and this is what you get. An elevator with no space for my small body."

Gasping, I turned my eyes at the staircase and kept on scanning it till my eyes reached. I already felt exhausted seeing the long endless staircase.

I lifted my head and gazed at the endpoint, persuading myself "You can do this, Ritu. It's just a staircase..."

With tight high heels, I stepped on the first stair and then the second, the third one after another I kept on climbing. Reaching halfway, I no longer could walk due to the pain.

The story of every girl repeated with me, the story of a beautiful sandal and her best friend blister. Every girl wears heels and guess what? The thought about sandal's best friend never crosses their mind while buying it. They either think of which dress they should wear that sandal with or drool thinking how beautiful they are going to look on that sandal.

And I am also one of those girls who never consider blisters, Sandal's best friend while shopping for it. I deeply wish that the thought of blisters came to my mind every single time before I bought those beautiful heels.

I would prefer to fill my shoe rack with sneakers and sports shoes rather than those sandals. At least cozy would come as their best friend.

Taking a deep breath, I dropped on the tread. Gently removing the heels, carefully I caressed the blisters. This gave me a bit of relief.

But as I lifted my head and glanced at the endless stairs which were still to be climbed, entirely I lost all my hopes. I couldn't even seek help as no person showed up.

"Show some mercy, O.M..." extending my hand I said looking up.

Suddenly the footsteps echoed on my ear and hastily I glanced down. Seeing a man coming upstairs, I couldn't stop smiling, mumbling, "Ohh! That was pretty fast, O.M..."

With eyes fixed on each tread he climbed, the man was coming towards me. Even though I had not seen his face, his appearance already appeared fascinating to me.

Black hair groomed backward, those strong abs shaped on the white t-shirt he wore, jeans with white sneakers giving the cool fashion look. A tall and strong man coming towards me had a file gripped on his hands and the motion of his body with every step he took gave me the vibe of a fashion model who I admire every weekend in a magazine I read.

I know it is not the right time to dream but who could control my naughty heart and brain? They already had started to give me the image of him carrying me upstairs in his muscular arms with a romantic song playing background like in movies.

"Well you done, done me and you bet I felt it

I tried to be chill, but you're so hot that I melted

I fell right through the cracks

Now I am trying to get back

Before the cool done run out

I'll be giving it my bestest

And nothing's gonna stop me but divine intervention

I reckon it's again my turn

To win some or learn some.

But I won't hesitate.

No more, no more.

It cannot wait, I'm yours..." [Song- I'm yours by Jason Marz]

"What the hell, Ritu? Stop dreaming, see he is approaching you. Stop dreaming," a voice inside me pulled me out of my dream this time.

I waited desperately, again fantasizing about the thing that is likely to happen.

"What happened? Are you alright?" he would ask.

I would show him my legs and finally, he would carry me in his arms. I already got on cloud nine thinking of being in his arms.

Finally, his face got familiar when he was some steps down. Fair skin guy had blue eyes. His nose straight and lips thin pink in color.

Don't call me naughty but I wanted to kiss him the moment my eyes fell on his lips.

Okay, fine fine, I know he is totally a stranger. But I admit that he was handsome like hell. And I admit this as well that I had never seen any guy handsome to that level.

"Okay, okay after Shawn Mendes."

But still Shawn Mendes, I have just seen him on TV. But this guy was real. Just in front of me. I watched him without blinking my eyes. My heart pounded and chills ran through my spine as he got closer.

I prepared myself to answer the questions which he might ask me, but to my shock, he just walked away. Yes, he turned a blind eye on me. He just kept on moving, totally ignoring my presence.

Tightening my fist with anger simmering inside me, I cursed underneath my breath, "How dare he turn blind on me? What does he think of himself? Is he the owner of this company...? Seriously. Who is he? Who turns blind eye to a woman who is in need of help?"

Furiously, I grabbed my bag and dived my hand in. After searching for a while, I finally fetched two band-aids. In a rage, I stuck it on my wound without thinking it might hurt.

"Aw! aw! aw that hurts... Why do you have to vent your anger into yourself? You have nothing to do with him and he has nothing to do with me so why? Why the hell are you angry? He didn't glance at me, that is his problem. Not mine... No, no not at all..."

After taking care of blisters, I stood on my feet, swung my bag on my shoulder, and carrying my heels in my hand resumed climbing the stairs.

"See you can still do without his help... You really don't have to rely on anyone," I praised patting my shoulder proudly.

"Finally..." I signed, reaching the top floor where I meant to be working starting from today.

I wore my heels carefully and marched inside. The moment I got the view of people it was none other than the same handsome guy who turned blind eye to me. He was sitting with other people side by side on the large leather couch.

The way he turned a blind eye on me a while ago I now took no notice of him and walked proudly towards the manager's office.

My heart got to ease when I took revenge on that guy. Like the way he ignored me I now ignored him. And the funny thing, he might not even know that.

"Let it be I took revenge, that is what matters for me," thinking, I knocked twice, when there was no answer, I pushed the door.

My eyes widened, 'holy shit!' the curse left out my lips in shock.
