CHAPTER 1
I'm in a hurry to get dressed because I'm going to miss class. If I'm not lucky, it's late on the first day of school. The superstitions of the elders also say, when you are late on the first day of school. Eh, you've been late all year. The school I go to is still far away. From the dormitory where I live, I still have to ride a tricycle out of the alley. And it will take another five minutes to walk before reaching the jeep parking lot to the school. Certainly, before I get to school it is too early for the next in the subject.
I only go to a public school, because I'm just a working student. In short, I'm just living on my own. If only he hadn't kicked me out, I hope I'm not suffering right now.
"My god, MJ. Your early, huh?" Sarcastic introduction to me by one of my friends.
I don't consider anyone a best friend. I hated best friends relationship. Furthermore, I don't want to be attached to people.
"I woke up last night, didn't you come first?" I asked her as I wiped the sweat dripping from my forehead.
"I miss you a lot!" She hugged me tightly.
She's Grace. One of my friend since junior high. We're both senior high now, and we choose the STEM strand. We plan to do engineering when college comes. "I miss you too!" I'll give her a tight hug too. We don't care if other students look at us here because of our corniness. That I guess they are also late. She let go of the hug first, but she went straight to my side then clasped her hand on my arm.
"We're late for the first subject, daii. Can we just date at the canteen?" She said while doing puppy eyes. She always does this especially when she has a favor.
"Sure!" I answered quickly.
When we arrived at the canteen we expected not too many people. She lined up to buy food. Grace is rich, so there is no case for her to waste money. And, she only spends on food. They were rich, but she preferred to go public so that she could be with me. I just laughed at her at that point.
"Here, our favourite silog!" Excited by this promise as she landed her orders. After it laid down the dishes she was also excited to sit in front of me.
As usual, she's using alcohol before she eats. And she is always expected to be artistic even if she is just pretending to be hygienic. We started eating, as usual, we didn't talk when eating. Food manners as she seems to say. The amount she felt eh. To all of us, she is just like that. So when she's not around, we chat with her while eating.
"Do you have any news about Jaycee, Abby and Maika?" I have a curious question here. I made sure I finished eating before starting to speak. It will be a sermon again if you happen to.
"They're still on vacation," about the three Marias. Maika's cousin. Shrugged his answer and still frowned. "Why does it have to be grimacing?"
"Nah. They're taking too long on their vacation, as far as I know, there's a lot of handsome men there." This promise is inclined. I was dizzy at the inconsistent expression on her face.
"By the way, what is our schedule?" I asked. When I was so awake last night I forgot to check our schedule.
"You do not know?" She answered and raised her eyebrows at me.
"Would I ask if I knew?" I retaliated against this. She just stared at me again before opening her Hershel backpack. "Oh!" She exclaimed. I am thankful because my schedule is loose. My part-time job is not an obstacle. Because just in case I will be forced to resign from my job. And I don't know where I'm going to get my food daily. I tied up my blond hair because it obstructed the wind blowing from the canteen's electric fan. We are still here because there is no bell for the next class yet. "It's suited to you," Grace complimented about my ponytail hair. Every time I hurry, she always compliments me for wearing a ponytail. "Your hair is enviable, my dream hair is a bit wavy at the end. It's beautiful because it's inborn. Unlike the one who works in the salon, it also comes back. Well, it's also up to you to have loose hair. Even if you don't comb it eh. " It's a long line that I just laughed at. "Because the feature of your face is beautiful, the thickness of your eyebrows, the tip of your nose, the kissable lips and also clear skin. You look like an angel coming down to earth, are you sure you don't have a boyfriend?"
I was just shaken by what she noticed in me.
"Your height too, you can be a model, and you can do sports. Why don't you just be a model? You don't work hard at the fast-food chain, do you?" She said it again.
But, I change the topic.
"Your chatter, you're beautiful too ah?"
"But, not as beautiful as you." She replied.
"SUS, humble!" I'm pissed at her for making her look bad again. The inclination struggled.
"So, you don't have a boyfriend?" She said in a teasing voice.
"Nothing,"
"Since birth?" I was just silenced by this next question.
"AHM,"
"What? No answer?" She's smiling promises it.
"Your chatter, let's go to class." I got up first. I don't want to remember that past. Furthermore, I don't want to remember him anymore. Furthermore, I do not want to! No matter how hard you try to forget a painful thing that happened in life. There are still events that will make you remember that past.
"Ayieeee, she's got a boyfriend." she was still chasing before she followed me. The next subject is on the third floor. And I'm thankful because she never carved me carved about the boyfriend thingy. I also don't like her topic.
We reached the room together. I rolled my eyes at it. It's nice, maybe it's comfy to study. They were all staring at the two of us. Maybe because we both don't know each other. And Grace and I were the only ones who went in together.
We headed to the second seat at the end, I immediately picked up the spot next to the window that was immediately snatched by one. "By the way, I'll introduce you to someone." She whispered while smiling.
Iris grew from an orphaned child to the adopted daughter of the Stewart family at age ten, finding warmth in her nominal uncle Vincent's kindness. Seven years later, she became his secret lover. When Vincent's engagement was announced, gossip spread about the notorious playboy CEO finally settling down. But only Iris knew the extent of his cold, two-faced nature. Iris fell for Vincent and, through tears, begged, "Marry me," only to be met with his frosty refusal. Defeated, she accepted a lawyer's proposal, sparking public excitement. Then, on her wedding day, Vincent pleaded desperately, "Don't marry him…"
Rosalynn's marriage to Brian wasn't what she envisioned it to be. Her husband, Brian, barely came home. He avoided her like a plague. Worse still, he was always in the news for dating numerous celebrities. Rosalynn persevered until she couldn't take it anymore. She upped and left after filing for a divorce. Everything changed days later. Brian took interest in a designer that worked for his company anonymously. From her profile, he could tell that she was brilliant and dazzling. He pulled the stops to find out her true identity. Little did he know that he was going to receive the greatest shocker of his life. Brian bit his finger with regret when he recalled his past actions and the woman he foolishly let go.
When Corynn mustered up the courage to tell Elliot about her pregnancy, she unexpectedly found him gallantly helping another woman from his car. Her heart sank as three years of effort to secure his love crumbled before her eyes, compelling her to leave him behind. Three years later, life had taken Corynn down a new path with someone else, while Elliot was left grappling with regret. Seizing a moment of vulnerability, he pleaded, "Corynn, let's get married." Shaking her head with a faint smile, Corynn gently replied, "Sorry, I'm already engaged."
"I've warned you from the beginning. Don't marry him, but you won't listen." She stood close to me and smiled with concern. "You are not a woman worthy of a man as handsome, rich, smart, and virile as Blaze." My whole body trembled at her words. "Have you no shame?" I asked in a quivering voice. "Take a good look at yourself, Heather." She looked at me in the mirror. "You can't even look at your ugly face. Do you think Blaze can endure a lifetime of looking at that face?" Heather Bailey had a surprise from her husband that night: a divorce agreement. After a year of marriage and facing ups and downs, she couldn't believe Blaze intended to divorce her. But she was devastated when she saw him gazing lovingly at another woman because that person was closest to her. Shortly after she put her signature on their divorce papers, shock waves caught her up. Her flower shop was severely burnt, beyond repair. Her father's company collapsed, and her parents blamed her. She struggled to rebuild her life from the ground up and became more successful than ever. Having many customers who came from influential families, she started her action against Blaze. She won the very thing he wanted. But that was just the beginning.
Once upon a time, there were two kingdoms once at peace. The kingdom of Salem and the kingdom of Mombana... Until the day, the king of Mombana passed away and a new monarch took over, Prince Cone. Prince Cone, has always been hungry for more power and more and more. After his coronation, he attacked Salem. The attack was so unexpected, Salem never prepared for it. They were caught off guard. The king and Queen was killed, the prince was taken into slavery. The people of Salem that survived the war was enslaved, their land taken from them. Their women were made sex slaves. They lost everything, including their land. Evil befall the land of Salem in form of Prince Cone, and the prince of Salem in his slavery was filled with so much rage. The prince of Salem, Prince Lucien swore revenge. 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳 Ten years later, thirty-years old Lucien and his people raided a coup and escaped slavery. They went into hiding and recuperated. They trained day and night under the leadership of the fearless and cold Lucien who was driven with everything in him to get back their land, and take Mombana land too. It took them five years before they ambushed and attacked Mombana. They killed Prince Cone and reclaimed everything. As they screamed out their victory, Lucien's eyes found and pinned the proud princess of Mombana. Princess Danika. The daughter of Prince Cone. As Lucien stared at her with the coldest eyes anyone can ever possess, he felt victory for the first time. He walked to the princess with the slave collar he'd won for ten years rattling in his hand as he walked. He reached close to her and with a swift movement, he collared her neck. Then, he tilted her chin up, staring into the bluest eyes and the most beautiful face ever created, he gave her a cold smile. "You are my acquisition. My slave. My sex slave. My property. I will pay you in spades, everything you and your father ever did to me and my people." He stated curtly. Pure hatred, coldness and victory was the only emotion on his face. .
On their wedding night, Rogelio wrapped his fingers around Marian's neck and spat at her, "Congratulations! From now on, you live in hell!" The reason for his wrath was that he believed she was responsible for the death of his elder brother. So, he married her but refused to touch her, determined to make her suffer for the rest of her pitiful life! However, due to an unforeseen accident, Marian was forced to sleep with Rogelio in order to save him, and she ended up getting pregnant. Concealing her pregnancy, Marian lived cautiously under Rogelio's watchful eyes. He hated her and relentlessly humiliated her, yet he would never allow anyone else to lay a finger on her— "Mr. Bailey, your wife got into a fight with someone!" Rogelio secretly took action, eliminating that person completely. "Sir, your wife claimed that all of your family's wealth belongs to her!" Rogelio quietly transferred all the shares to her. Unaware of all this, Marian only wanted to escape, but Rogelio pulled her into his warm embrace, whispering, "Mrs. Bailey, where do you intend to go with our unborn child?"
