I swear my life got ruined the day my school's notorious badboy, Fabian moved next door to my house. Ever since then he'd been obsessed with getting me into some sort of relationship with him and I didn't trust him, not his intentions, not his deeds, not his family, nothing! But I still let him enchant me and lure me into his embrace, and now I'll never be the same. ×× He stalked closer towards me, making me retreat till I couldn't anymore. My back had hit the wall and I had nowhere to run to, though I really wished I could disappear instead. He put his hands on either side of my head and his hot breath fanned my face as a satisfied smirk stretched his cheeks. He must be enjoying just how helpless I look right now. "F-fabian a-aren't we s-supossed to be doing the assignment instead of-" I tried to question eagerly but only stuttered before he cut me off by grabbing my chin roughly, placing my lips dangerously close to his. He smelled of cigarettes and strong cologne. On any other day I'd be disgusted by the nicotine scent, but something was different right now. It smelled..good, appealing even. His other hand snaked behind my waist, grabbing my butt and I immediately shuddered under his touch. I regretted ignoring my intuition, I knew I should've just done the homework on my own. Damn Mr Claudio for pairing us! "Shut up, you know you want this. I see how you look at me everyday, this is your opportunity to get what you've always been thirsty for sweetheart." And with that his lips crashed into mine and I gave into his plea, the same plea my body shared with him. ×× He was nothing but bad news, one to not be involved with, she was just an innocent girl trying to make her parents proud. Riley never intended to mingle with a person of his character,a rascal rule breaker, conceited little bastard , but her heart led her straight into his arms. And she stayed there, addicted.

Chapter 1

"I do not want to spill all the beans girl, you need to hear this straight from the horse's mouth. But let me just say new discoveries have been made." One of my two best friends, Shanley spoke the words in an enthusiastic tone. Ever since she and Paige got here they've been acting suspiciously excited and I was just ready to know what it was they were yet to delight me with.

"And who is the horse then?" I inquired, making Shanley eye Paige knowingly before pointing her index finger towards her to confirm what the first action suggested.

"Okay fine!! I'll tell you! But don't look at me so much, you're making me anxious" Paige mumbled the last part and kept us waiting before continuing as she blushed like a shy little girl.

"Okay. Straight to the point. Frank and I did it." She said, blushing again and hiding her face.

"Did what?" So much for being straight to the point, I was still confused.

"You know...the thing..the deeds." Her hands made weird fast movements as she tried to demonstrate and make me understand.

"I still don't get it." If I was to know what they were talking about, they needed to be direct.

"Just tell me." I pleaded, getting a little jealous of how I was in the dark and the way they kept exchanging squeals without me.

" since you won't say it, I will say it. Frank and Paige had sex. You're officially the only virgin in the trio and probably the whole school."

My jaw dropped as the words left Shanley's lips. My mind was thinking way far from sex, I was shocked. Sure I was the most shy among the three but Paige was only slightly better. I couldn't imagine how she would take such a thing seriously. She was even scared by a penis outline on a guy's pants.

"The only virgin for sure!" Paige declared and both of them shared a seemingly enjoyable laugh.

"That's not true!" I pouted, trying to defend myself.

"Well who else could possibly still be a virgin in our grade Riley?" Shanley gave me a smug face as she waited for my reply.

"I'm sure Zoe is still a virgin, she also has never had a boyfriend." Zoe was the emo, the depressed kid, who'd been that way since she transferred two years ago. I was pretty sure my defence was solid.

"Nope! Try again. I think Trevor took her virginity last year because of that bet, remember?"

Ughh! My face showed defeat and both of them laughed again. It's not like it was such a big deal that I was still a virgin in my senior year. That's not why I was at school and it shouldn't matter. Though I was feeling a bit insecure at the moment.

"Whatever, let's stop talking about sex and boys, it's disturbing." I pleaded before we were all startled by a loud thud coming from outside.

We all walked over to my bedroom window to search for the source of the noise. There was a big moving truck outside that had boxes in it and it looked like the sound came from one of the large boxes falling from the back of the car. Someone was moving into the house next door? It had been up for sale for over seven months now since the old lady that used to stay in there died from cancer. It was probably one of her kids that decided to sell the house.

I only prayed that whoever was taking the old lady's house would be just like the rest of my neighbours-peaceful, not bothersome and not nosy. That was one of the things that made me love my neighbourhood.

"I wish it was my family moving into such a big house." Shanley sighed as she stared at the busy people outside.

"You're also wasting a pretty nice house Riley. If I were you, I'd be throwing insane parties in here, I mean your parents are barely around anyway." She added while looking away from the window to the ceiling as though she were fantasizing.

"And everyone would know that this was my house, I'd keep bringing them over to show off and-"

"Okay. Stop. You're making me feel uncomfortable." I cut her off with a quiet voice. I didn't like when my friends or anyone at that felt envious of my riches. My parents were the owners of an oil company that had branches in other continents but I did not want people to know. Only my two bestfriends knew because I did not want that attention that came with being of a higher 'class'.

The rest of the day was spent with us eating our lungs out and watching sad romantic movies. At 5pm both of them had finally left and I decided I'd get ready for my jog, which I regularly took at 5:15.

The weather was very hot and dry so I needed an outfit that would allow my skin to breath and prevent me from overheating. A black sports bra and short black biker shorts to complement it seemed appropriate so I decided I'd wear that.

I took a quick look at myself in the mirror and couldn't help but remember how Paige and Shanley always begged me to wear more tight, revealing clothes. Sometimes they would even go to the extent of buying me the clothes they wanted me to wear but I never put them on my body for school. Apparently I had "nice, juicy curves that were too good to be hidden from the world."

Too much to their dismay, I wanted to avoid attention at all costs and if it meant wearing oversized t shirts and jeans or loose summer dresses like I had nothing else in this huge closet then I was content.

I quickly grabbed my phone and placed it in the holder that was on my right arm like I did every time I went for a run. I had created a playlist for an estimated 20 minutes, which was how long I assumed my jog would take.

As I did a few stretches outside my house, I noticed someone..a guy watching me from a window on the top floor. I could barely make out any features but he looked shirtless with something steaming in his hand. My face immediately formed a grimace as I realised that the person was smoking. My new neighbour just had to be a smoker?

Ew, just ew.

His focus was strong on me and I immediately started to feel uncomfortable. What if he was a thug? Does he know I was the only one in my house? Could he possibly want to steal something? The thoughts just kept running as I tried to continue with my stretches and avoid his gaze.

Perhaps I was being stereotypical. It was so 20th century to associate anyone with a cigarette or joint to crime, my gut must still be living in that century, I thought.

But better safe than sorry right?

I decided to go into the house and find the keys to lock it up in case the person, or anyone else would try to get in and steal something. Or worse hide in one of the rooms that we rarely used and wait there till I come back and-

Yeah, the possibilities were endless and I didn't want to take that risk. It took me a while to find the keys to the house. It was only after texting my mom that I was finally directed to the location of a spare in one of the drawers in her office.

I locked the front door, which was the only one that had been unlocked and hid the key beneath the soil in a flower pot that contained a nice plant on the porch. And with that I took off, fighting the urge to look back up at the same window where the person was watching me.

I had barely been running for 5 minutes when I decided it was time to turn back. Something was off about the evening and I just felt like I needed to be in my room instead.

Seeing as I also had some chemistry homework that I needed to do, returning early started to look like less of a problem.

The first thing I noticed as I took a turn to my street was a guy in black jeans and a white muscle shirt standing by a car that had its boot open. It was at that same house where the new neighbours had just moved in and it looked like the person was searching for something in there.

It was the same guy, I now confirmed as I noticed the raggedy black hair as I got closer with my slow walking.

I wanted to avoid contact with him as much as possible, something didn't seem settling with him and the way he was watching me earlier scared me.

I decided that quickly dashing on the opposite side of both our houses was my best shot at getting away from him. And if he did notice me and decide to call me, I had my airpods in and I would immediately be excused for not hearing him.

And so I took off as fast as I could, hoping I would make it to the door before being seen. I was almost successful in my attempt until I tripped on one of my shoe laces and nearly fell face first. My hands however had broken my fall and only them and my legs were affected as they grazed the hard road.

So this is why mom always told me to never run in laced shoes huh?

I was screaming in pain. I could just feel my thighs burning from all the graze wounds I imagined were there. It was hard to get up and as I kept trying to shift my legs from the floor and stand, I felt a presence behind me and noticed a shadow besides mine.

"You look like you could use some help." A deep voice behind me said and I froze.

"Grab my hand." I noticed that his hand was extended from looking at the shadow but somehow I could not move.

Not even 10 seconds later, I felt him grab me around my waist and lift me swiftly. I screamed as my miscues contracted and hurt the wounds. He set me on my feet before turning me around and rubbing some dust off my shorts. I felt butterflies dance in my stomach as he grazed the thin fabric and I pushed his hand off.

"Sorry, did I hurt you?" He looked up from where he was bent over and nothing could've prepared me for what I saw, his face.

I knew this face all too well. It was Fabian, the most troublesome boy in my school who had been rumoured to be a member of a gang. I immediately repelled him and he frowned.

"What's wrong with you bitch, can't you see I'm trying to help you?" He looked offended, his transition and choice of words confirmed my observation even more. It was hard to find a response.

"Uhmm. I'm sorry .I'm fine, I mean I'll be fine thank you." I settled for an apology and ran up to my house as fast as my throbbing legs could manage, dug the key from the pot and dashed inside the house without looking back.
