"Riley, Why are you still sleeping? Its already 7:30am. Did you forget this is your first day at school. You need to make a good impression and make new friends." My mother Mace Andrews says.
I groan and sit up. I didn't got much sleep last night. I was up again all night reading romance novels.
Now i feel like i have a huge hangover, not that i know how hangover feels like.
"I'm heading for work now. Don't forget to take your breakfast. And lock the door on your way out. We don't know how this town is."
"Okay mom. Have a great day."
"You too sweety."
Today's my first day at high school. My mother recently got transferred. So i also had to leave my previous school and shift town.
It wasn't much bother for me. Because i didn't had any friends in there. I'm always too awkward to make friends.
I hate being the new student at class in the middle of semester. For a day or a week all attantion stays on the new girl. And in this case i'm gonna be that new girl.
Mom works as a vet. Thats why she got transferred to this town surrounded by rainforest. Its always been mom and I. I don't know who my father is. I just know they were college sweetheart and when mom got pregnant with me, he bailed on us. For that i don't even want to know about him.
I notice I have only an hour left for my class. It would take nearly 15min for me to reach the school. So I got up quickly from my bed and took my shower. I started looking for a nice T- Shirt And jeans. I don't like to wear dresses. Makes me feel uncomfortable. Maybe thats why i'm always the lonely girl. But i don't care. I want to live my life the way i like.
I check myself in the mirror. With tanned skin, brown eyes, black hair and 5'2'' height i'm the one as everyone says plain Jane. I'm not fat but i'm also not skinny like all the popular girls in school. I just hope in this school no one picks up on me like before. I would like to finish my rest of the senior year peacefully.
I won't get my car untill i graduate and leave for college. So for now i have to walk. Its not much far like my previous school.
And i don't mind walking, morning breeze makes me feel fresh. So i put my earphone on and started walking for the school.
"RavenWood Vally"
the school looks nice. There are many kids hanging out in groups. Every school have different groups. But i never blended in any of them.
Some of them started staring at me like i already thought would happen.
I went straight for the reception. Thankfully it was at the front. At least i didn't had to search for it or else i would've been more late.
"Hello" The receptionist was talking on the phone. For a min she didn't even looked at me. Rude lady...
"Can i get my schedule please?" i asked after she was done with her call.
"You must be the new admission." She handed me over my schedule. And called for a girl named Evelyn to show me around the school.
With shining blonde hair, long skinny legs, she looked like the popular girl every school has.
"Hello, i'm Riley" She looked me from head to toe.
"Look, i don't have time for a looser like you. Show yourself around." she scoffed and left.
"Well, nice to meet you." i whispered. I'm not even surprised, thats what always happens.
I checked my schedule. Looks like i have math first. On cue, first warning bell rang and i don't even have any idea where the classroom is. Perfect....
In a hurry i started running around looking for the class. Suddenly i ran into a wall and fall flat my butt. Well, not exactly wall but it surely felt like that.
"Look where you go. looser..."
I look up to find the most beautiful eyes i have ever seen. He got the perfect emerald-green color on his eyes. That made me lock in a trance. He might be 6' or more by the way he's towering over me.
The second warning bell rang and with that i got out of my trance and understood what he just said to me. But he was already on his way without even saying sorry or helping me. Thats why people says looks can be deceiving. No matter how droll worthy his looks is, he is still an asshole...
Finally i found the class. And the teacher didn't entered yet. Thank god... I didn't wanted a lecture on my very first day.
Most of the seat was already occupied. I went straight for a sit on the back. Even though i'm actually a good student and always get good grades, i don't like to sit in the front. I perfer to stay on shadows. Where no one would notice me.
"Hello, you must be the new admission. i'm Ella Matthew." the girl beside me said. I never thought she would talk to me, thats why i didn't looked at her first. Brown hair, sea blue eye and a huge smile on her face.
"Riley Andrews, yeah i'm new. That obvious huhh?" "We don't get many new peoples here, its a small town. So if once in a while someone comes, everyone gets the news."
we started talking to each other and i got to know she lives just few blocks away from our place. So we decided to meet after class and walk home together.
Then the teacher entered the classroom. After sitting she looked around the class and locked eyes with me. I was dreading for this moment.
"You must be the new student, You can call me miss Simons. Now why don't you introduce yourself to the rest of the class?" She said to me.
I was starting to talk when another person entered the classroom like he owns this place.
He didn't even looked at the teacher even though he was five min late. He came straight for the back and again i got caught in the depth of perfect emerald-green eyes...
