I never expected to meet the guy in the wrong car I would never expect the guy is my billionaire CEO Boss and my contracted future husband. "look at me," He growled, grasped my chin, and cover his lips upon me. "Sign the marriage contract, right now!"
My name is Alexia, twenty-five years old a girl who is filled with charms and aspirations for the future. But currently, I feel so bored having my 20th blind date, specifically with the guy sitting opposite me, who is very hard to depict.
Plain face, shorter than me, but he surprisingly filled with confidence.
Even though we only met for five minutes, he proposed to me for a marriage.
For sure he was only after my good looks. Of course, nothing to be surprised about. Who would offer such thing for a first meeting? It isn't only about the looks?
"Sir, I am sorry to say but to be frank I don't have the slightest bit of affection for you. But don't worry the dinner is on me. So goodbye, and let's never meet again!"
I am so proud of myself for the perfect ending dialogue for this kind of annoying appointment. I got up, turned around and darted toward the entrance. That was when a stranger man suddenly grabbed my arm ferociously and pulled me into his arm-
"Ouch." I closed my eyes tightly and await the unwilling embrace of this man with a painful look.
"Miss, are you okay?" A masculine magnetic voice penetrated into my ears.
Instead of making myself free from the man's arm, I unexpectedly dropped into the embrace of a strikingly dignified guy whose face is adorned with a grin. He even had dimples on his cheeks.
My body flushed while a trace of blush spread on my cheeks. The aura of my face became pinkish filled with hearts, and my brain kept asking me to just grab this man and kiss the heck out of him.
"Thank you." I was so amazed by him that I blushed like a chili pepper.
"You're welcome." The man replied in a polite manner.
His alluring smile made me hurriedly dash out of the restaurant. The blush continued to decorate my cheeks.
I could feel the man's gaze linger on me from behind. But I went ahead!
"Shit!"
I ran out of the bar and stood on the street alone, a cold wind rushed toward me. My fingers were almost frozen.
I was even more pissed off when I noticed that my dress was torn. Thanks to the pointless appointment-my whole legs were exposing bare in the roaring wind as I shivered.
Twenty minutes had passed since I called the taxi and I couldn't see any vehicle passing by.
A gust of cold wind was blowing all around me.
I fastened my pace in desperation.
A car finally pulled out in front of me, then I stepped into it without even thinking.
"Do you usually get in any man's car? I suppose." A familiar masculine voice refreshed my mind.
He wasn't the taxi I called. I looked up at the man with an astonishing look plastering over my face. Wasn't he the handsome guy who had hugged me in the restaurant!?
"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry, I didn't notice that I am getting into the wrong car. I booked a cab, sorry again let me get off!"
I really wanted to dig a hole and bury myself out of embarrassment.
"It's fine. It's late already, let me drive you home."
"No, thanks. By the way, I'm Alexia."
"I'm Calvin Smith. Nice to meet you."
I stared at his alluring full and symmetrical lips under the dim light. Those lips were so attractive that it made me imagine all those X rated scenes in my mind. I could even feel them on my lips, softly brushing against me, giving me a bitter sweet pleasure. Suddenly, my throat went dry.
A bright red blush registered on my face again. My heart was throbbing with an accelerated heartbeat.
I couldn't utter a word.
"I will take you home." He smiled at me. "Tell me your address."
"A....Avenue Burlington, No.3 Downstreet." I murmured.
The car moved forward and pulled up at a crossing that was still some blocks away from my house.
Out of nervousness, I told him the wrong address.
"Put the jacket on." Calvin passed me a jacket, and I hurriedly put it on. The jacket was long enough to cover my snowy white complexioned bare legs and it really warmed me up from inside. I hugged the jacket even tighter.
He stared at me from top to bottom.
"We'll see each other again!" Calvin smiled and drove off.
"What did he mean? We'll see each other again?! God, he isn't interested in me, is he!?" I wrapped the jacket tightly, the scent of the man was still there. I unconsciously took a long sniff as I let that familiar masculine scent linger in my nose giving me endless satisfaction.
When I arrived home, I complained to my mother how evil her best friend was for setting me up with such a weird and ugly blind date.
But I still had a feeling of happiness when I recalled the guy and his warm jacket.
My thoughts were interrupted by an urgent call.
"Alexia, guess who I've met today? Abby Williams!" It was my best friend Anni Jones, and I was stunned.
Abby Williams was my former best friend. But one day she told me that she was pregnant and the father was my high school sweetheart, Johnny Evans.
Abby hurt me so much begging even more that she couldn't let the child be born without a father and asked my favor to let the bitch be a couple with my ex.
But it didn't hurt as much as what Johnny Evans did. He swiftly got down on his knees in front of me and told me that-
"Hey, are you listening? Is everything okay?"
Since I didn't utter a word, I could sense that Anni Jones was a little worried about me.
"I'm here, I'm here! I'm fine." I forced to pull myself together.
"Anything else?"
"Alexia, I really hate to mention this, but I have to tell you something. Actually, Johnny Evans is coming back next month..."
I felt that I was losing my last straw, I couldn't remember what I talked with Anni afterwards. I didn't even notice that I hung up the phone, and I stared at the ceiling in a trance for a long, long time.
The next day brought forth a bright presence in the form of my friend.
Anni Jones barged into my room. "Tell me, was blind date yesterday successful? The jacket you put outside your room is owned by the blind date guy, right? I guess you have found your Mr. Right."
Before I struggled to open my eyelids, I was confused and annoyed by Anni's blabbing.
"No, yesterday's appointment was a super failure, and the jacket wasn't from the weird blind date guy, who blatantly said he wanted to marry me at once-a psycho pervert!" I just couldn't stop gossiping about my blind date.
"Your mom's really too anxious for your marriage." Anni pressed her lips together in a thin line.
"That would all contribute to Abby Williams' great mom." I was left with no choice but to obey my mother and be a good daughter.
Anni understood everything as soon as she heard the name Abby Williams.
Abby Williams' mom had an affair with my father, and my boyfriend was grabbed by Abby. That's why mom was so caring about my marriage.
"Don't you have work today?" I quickly changed the subject.
"Yeah, I'm taking a day off today. My mom and my brother are coming over," Anni said with a grin.
"Okay, say hi to them for me. The hard-working people are surely going to try hard to earn more money!"
I quickly got up and rushed to my office.
Sikkim group is my workplace, and it is a real estate company. But it had been only few years that it suffered from a loss in the real estate market.
The company explored business in other industries, such as culture and clothing.
However, thanks to the top leader's dumb strategy, the company has been suffering from heavy losses for many years.
Plus, with the pandemic, many employees were laid off last year, and it was only the beginning. More would be laid off next month. Bleakness and gloomy feelings were at every corner of the company.
This was my first job since I graduated.
I honestly had deep affections for this company just like my first love Johnny Evans.
I didn't want to leave. So, I worked as diligently as I could to help.
Today, I am working extra hard because the company is going to welcome a new CEO today. He is the hope of the whole company, and everyone expected that he would make up for the tragic losses. Today is his first day here.
The guy who was said to be a super capable have saved several companies from the verge of bankruptcy. What's more legendary was that he was young-only in his early 30s I guess. He was said to be super handsome, and that is my weakness just like any other ladies.
My female colleagues today look so excited.
"Did you hear that? The General board has given most part of his company shares to the CEO to keep him manage the company"
"No way! Then our lives are now depended to this stranger guy's hands."
While I was listening to my colleagues chatting, I felt even more freaked out. I didn't want to lose the job. So, I had to work even harder to remain.
The whole morning, I couldn't stop drinking water. I busied myself into work.
A few hours passed by, and it is almost time for lunchbreak. The office's famous gossip girl, Andy Taylor, got a call and then the whole office blasted.
"Oh my God, he's here, he's here, sis, Calvin Smith is here!" She hung up the phone and cried out of her lungs fervently.
"Calvin Smith?" My brain tried to recall where I heard that name before.
"No way, is it the jacket guy I met yesterday!?" I was stunned when I remembered that.
"Everyone, keep your spirits up. Mr. Smith is on his way!"
My department manager, Tom Jackson, is also nervous and excited. He couldn't wait to show his capability to the CEO.
"It seems Andy has a good relationship with the CEO and is getting promoted very soon. I hate to see that bitch's ugly face!" Tom Jackson blabbers.
Andy Taylor revealed a disdainful expression.
She joined the company at same time as me, and she hated Tom Jackson very much.
I smirked, I knew that Andy Taylor and Tom Jackson would never be happy together they are mortal enemies.
No one knew that the two were former lovers. But sadly ended because of Tom Jackson's unfaithful affair.
That's was why Andy Taylor was so devoted to spreading the rumors about Tom Jackson in the company. She was deeply hurt.
"Here he comes! God, he is so handsome!"
"Really handsome!"
My attention was soon drawn back by their exciting cries.
I looked up curiously.
"God! It's that guy I met yesterday!" I was dying inside, wondering what would happen when my future boss sees me.
Calvin Smith took his step toward me, eyes fixing on my face. He was totally ignoring Tom Jackson's greeting.
As a simple assistant, messaging the CEO in the dead of night to request shares of adult films was a bold move. Bethany, unsurprisingly, didn't receive any films. However, the CEO responded that, while he had no films to share, he could offer a live demonstration. After a night filled with passion, Bethany was certain she'd lose her job. But instead, her boss proposed, "Marry me. Please consider it." "Mr. Bates, you're kidding me, right?"
Sandra Hill, the long-lost real heiress of the Hill family, was shunned by her own kin. Instead of embracing her, they bestowed their affection upon an impostor. They even arranged her to marry a vegetative man in place of her so-called “sister”. Sandra sneered, refusing to put up with this humiliation, cut off ties with the Hill family immediately and ran into the flash marriage with Wesley Cooper, her unconscious billionaire husband. With her incredible medical skills, she defied the odds and revived him. Little did she expect that her husband spoiled her with all his love... A medical genius, a computer prodigy, a national treasure in painting, and a racing legend... Her husband revealed her various identities, leaving the Hill family regretful. Her father came pleading, "It's Dad's fault. Please come back." Her mother wept, "Mom will protect you from now on. Please come back." Even her five brothers knelt before he, begging for forgiveness. Yet, Sandra's smile held a hint of mockery as she vowed, “Never!”
Desperate to handle her grandmother's towering medical bills, Gianna agreed to a contract marriage with Tristan, the enigmatic man she'd once shared a one-night stand with. She assumed they'd fulfill each other's needs and dissolve the arrangement once the terms expired. Unbeknownst to Gianna, this marriage was a dream Tristan had clung to for ten relentless years. Certain she was just filling someone else's role, Gianna prepared to leave when that other woman returned. But Tristan, his eyes burning with unspoken emotion, seized her trembling hand and declared, "You’re mine. Now and always."
Rena got into an entanglement with a big shot when she was drunk one night. She needed Waylen's help while he was drawn to her youthful beauty. As such, what was supposed to be a one-night stand progressed into something serious. All was well until Rena discovered that Waylen's heart belonged to another woman. When his first love returned, he stopped coming home, leaving Rena all alone for many nights. She put up with it until she received a check and farewell note one day. Contrary to how Waylen expected her to react, Rena had a smile on her face as she bid him farewell. "It was fun while it lasted, Waylen. May our paths never cross. Have a nice life." But as fate would have it, their paths crossed again. This time, Rena had another man by her side. Waylen's eyes burned with jealousy. He spat, "How the hell did you move on? I thought you loved only me!" "Keyword, loved!" Rena flipped her hair back and retorted, "There are plenty of fish in the sea, Waylen. Besides, you were the one who asked for a breakup. Now, if you want to date me, you have to wait in line." The next day, Rena received a credit alert of billions and a diamond ring. Waylen appeared again, got down on one knee, and uttered, "May I cut in line, Rena? I still want you."
There was only one man in Raegan's heart, and it was Mitchel. In the second year of her marriage to him, she got pregnant. Raegan's joy knew no bounds. But before she could break the news to her husband, he served her divorce papers because he wanted to marry his first love. After an accident, Raegan lay in the pool of her own blood and called out to Mitchel for help. Unfortunately, he left with his first love in his arms. Raegan escaped death by the whiskers. Afterward, she decided to get her life back on track. Her name was everywhere years later. Mitchel became very uncomfortable. For some reason, he began to miss her. His heart ached when he saw her all smiles with another man. He crashed her wedding and fell to his knees while she was at the altar. With bloodshot eyes, he queried, "I thought you said your love for me is unbreakable? How come you are getting married to someone else? Come back to me!"
After my family's sinister plots collapsed, they lashed out at me, taking their rage to a violent level. Cornered and desperate, I married Jaxton—the town's most sought-after bachelor—due to an unplanned pregnancy. Love had no part in this marriage; I assumed he married me purely out of responsibility, his heart belonging elsewhere. The moment I chose to let him go and turned to leave, he grabbed me and pinned me down hard. "Jaxton, you promised you'd never touch me!" I snapped, glaring fiercely. His eyes flashed arrogantly as he leaned closer. "You're the one who started this!"
