Marinette and Author had been lovers since high school, but what suddenly happens when he changes immediately they get married?
Chapter One : Memories of the things we had .
Marinette sat at the balcony of her twin duplex , the most gigantic home in the whole of Paris that seemed to dazzle every passerby and made them wait for several minutes admiring the magnificent piece of art . It was 10am already , but she still sat , eagerly , waiting for Authur to come back home . It was the usual thing she always did , ever since they were together as lovers on high school , and those times , he would come , hold her from behind and then they would smile and laugh all the way into their bedroom . Unfortunately , it had been quite the opposite ever since they graduated and got married , it was like he had changed completely .
The sound of the door being creaked open slowly brought Marinette back to her senses . Alas , Author had left his car at the office again this time , which meant he was drunk , again . Marinette hurried a the way to their large parlor , only to be met by the angry and ferocious eyes of Author as he yelled , get away you bitch ! You gold digger ! , before he slowly but very miserably crawled into his own room . This had been the same words he had never failed to utter every single time he came home to her , words she could never forget. She was however grateful that he at least came home though .
It had been three years since they got married , and although everyone knew her as the famous and beautiful Mrs Richards , Author had never touched her , hence they did not have any children . She had tried , especially on days when he was drunk , but all she seemed to get were the painful injuries he inflected on her whenever he pushed her away or threw something on her to express his anger, which he seemed to do most times . That did not stop him from fooling around though, as news of him and his mistress , Cecelia , her once best friend in high school , was something that never failed to show in the news everyday , it was like the reporters just wanted to see her broken , completely without any traces of repair . Cecelia had betrayed her , but she was still fine with it , as long as Author still loved her . Alas, he didn't .And it really was so sad that she was the only one who had to go through all these pains , all these heartbreaks , alone . But she promised herself she would end up being very fine in the end , hopefully . At least she had to try to be , for her own sanity and wellbeing .

When his first love returned, he stopped coming home, leaving Rena all alone for many nights. She put up with it until she received a check and farewell note one day. Contrary to how Waylen expected her to react, Rena had a smile on her face as she bid him farewell. "It was fun while it lasted, Waylen. May our paths never cross. Have a nice life." But as fate would have it, their paths crossed again. This time, Rena had another man by her side. Waylen's eyes burned with jealousy. He spat, "How the hell did you move on? I thought you loved only me!" "Keyword, loved!" Rena flipped her hair back and retorted, "There are plenty of fish in the sea, Waylen. Besides, you were the one who asked for a breakup. Now, if you want to date me, you have to wait in line." The next day, Rena received a credit alert of billions and a diamond ring. Waylen appeared again, got down on one knee, and uttered, "May I cut in line, Rena? I still want you."
Everyone was shocked to the bones when the news of Rupert Benton's engagement broke out. It was surprising because the lucky girl was said to be a plain Jane, who grew up in the countryside and had nothing to her name. One evening, she showed up at a banquet, stunning everyone present. "Wow, she's so beautiful!" All the men drooled, and the women got so jealous. What they didn't know was that this so-called country girl was actually an heiress to a billion-dollar empire. It wasn't long before her secrets came to light one after the other. The elites couldn't stop talking about her. "Holy smokes! So, her father is the richest man in the world?" "She's also that excellent, but mysterious designer who many people adore! Who would have guessed?" Nonetheless, people thought that Rupert didn't love her. But they were in for another surprise. Rupert released a statement, silencing all the naysayers. "I'm very much in love with my beautiful fiancee. We will be getting married soon." Two questions were on everyone's minds: "Why did she hide her identity? And why was Rupert in love with her all of a sudden?"
"Miss Brown, I am the butler here at your service," the butler replied. "My master wants to buy the baby in your belly." "What?!" Does that mean the abortion didn't take place? Did they kidnap her from the operating table just to buy the baby? But why her? "You..." Alice was about to ask a question, but the man in front of her calmly continued, as if he had expected her question, "You're pregnant with his child, and he needs a child. That's all I can tell you." Alice was forced to sign a surrogacy contract and eight months later gave birth to two healthy babies. Fortunately, the man was unaware of her daughter's existence. It wasn't until five years later that fate brought them together again...
