Am Tessa a 25 year old interior decorator. I studied at the University of Benin and graduated with a first class lower. Am currently working with the third largest interior design company, not currently per say..
I am kinda passing through a phase right now. I mean heart break so I explained to my boss and I got a month off to clear my head..
I hurried out of my room checked my self in the mirror before going out of the house, when I was done I locked my door and headed out..
After 15 minutes, I reached the office submitted my designs to my boss worked on a few, went for coffee and came back to continue..
Time went by and it was time to go back home so I packed my stuff, grabbed my back and headed home..
When I got home I fixed myself some dinner and as I was about to drift to sleep, I heard my phone ring. I looked at the caller ID and it was my mum..
Urgghhhh!! I picked the call and greeted her and as usual she pestered me about getting married..I told her that I will get married at the right time.
She then told me about a blind date that she arranged for me..I didn't agree at first but after much pestering from her I finally agreed.
Her job being done she told me that she will send me the details and then she ended the call...
I heard a beep 2 minutes later and it was a message from my mum. It read "Krispy Kreme" 2pm..don't keep him waiting.
I quickly replied ok and then I jumped on my bed and went to sleep..
The next morning, I woke up did my usual morning routine but this time I had to go to that dumb date at 2pm..
Ugh!! Anyways I have to get going before am late for work..
I head out and reach the office did some designs. I got a message from mum, she sent me a pic of him and captioned it..
" A picture of your date; just incase. Be punctual". I sighed after reading the message and I hurried home to get ready so I would be "punctual".
I took a bath dressed up and headed to the place wearing a red velvet dress with a slit by the side with silver heels and a black Gucci bag; I did a little makeup just to make an appearance; I no dey carry last...
When I entered the place, I saw many couples on a date. I scanned the room looking for my so called date. I finally saw him..he was not bad tho..so I sat down and we started talking..
"Hey, am Tessa and I guess you know my mum set us up on a date"
" Hi, I do. So lets talk and get to know ourselves just as friends of course"
" Am Tessa, an interior decorator. I studied in Uniben and I have a masters degree. What about you?"
" Am Edward, a business man. I went to London for my masters.."
We talked about our likes and dislikes and we seem to have almost similar likes and dislikes. We flowed well with each other and we didn't know when time flew.
I realized when my mum messaged me;
" Hope you are enjoying your date"
I checked the time and it was 5 pm. I told him that I had to go home. We exchanged numbers and he said that he would call me.
He walked me out and I boarded a cab and went home. He is a really cool person; I thought.
When I got home, my mum called and asked me about the date. No doubt I like him but if I tell my mum she will start planning the marriage. I needed time to really think about it to avoid making mistakes.
" Hello, are you still there"
Mum's voice snapped me out of my thoughts..
"Erm.. yes mum the date was nice. I mean he is a very cool person but am not promising anything yet. I need to think before I make a decision"
" No problem my daughter, but speed up your thinking oo; I want you to get married soon"
" Okay mama, I need to sleep, good bye; I will inform you of my decision"
" Good night nwa m"
The next morning, I dressed up for work and about to leave when I heard a car beep. It was Edward I was so surprised to see him.
I know mum must have told him my address. I just asked him how he knew so I won't seem weird..
"Hey, how did you know my address"
" Erm, your mum gave it to me; am
sorry for coming uninvited though"
"No problem, welcome; I am about going out so.."
" Ohh, cool let me drop you off then"
"Ok".
So I entered his car. We chatted all the way to my work place. I came down from his car and bid him farewell. I entered my office and couldn't concentrate.
I was thinking about him; He is such a gentleman.. I continued working on my work and stopped daydreaming..

For financial gain, Isla's father married her to Theodore, a comatose heir. Unconscious, he duped her; awake, he claimed she'd groped him and flirted nonstop. When she discovered she was pregnant, his "lost love" appeared, and he slid divorce papers across the bed. Isla slapped his hush money back and left. They crossed paths again, with Isla lauded as a hacker, race champ, composer, and screenwriter-and the elusive doctor Theodore coveted. He begged, "One more chance." My husband, Bennett, and I were New York's golden couple. But our perfect marriage was a lie, childless because of a rare genetic condition he claimed would kill any woman who carried his baby. When his dying father demanded an heir, Bennett proposed a solution: a surrogate. The woman he chose, Aria, was a younger, more vibrant version of me. Suddenly, Bennett was always busy, supporting her through "difficult IVF cycles." He missed my birthday. He forgot our anniversary. I tried to believe him, until I overheard him at a party. He confessed to his friends that his love for me was a "deep connection," but with Aria, it was "fire" and "exhilarating." He was planning a secret wedding with her in Lake Como, at the same villa he'd promised me for our anniversary. He was giving her a wedding, a family, a life—all the things he denied me, using a lie about a deadly genetic condition as his excuse. The betrayal was so complete it felt like a physical shock. When he came home that night, lying about a business trip, I smiled and played the part of the loving wife. He didn't know I'd heard everything. He didn't know that while he was planning his new life, I was already planning my escape. And he certainly didn't know I had just made a call to a service that specialized in one thing: making people disappear.
