Am Tessa a 25 year old interior decorator. I studied at the University of Benin and graduated with a first class lower. Am currently working with the third largest interior design company, not currently per say..
I am kinda passing through a phase right now. I mean heart break so I explained to my boss and I got a month off to clear my head..
I hurried out of my room checked my self in the mirror before going out of the house, when I was done I locked my door and headed out..
After 15 minutes, I reached the office submitted my designs to my boss worked on a few, went for coffee and came back to continue..
Time went by and it was time to go back home so I packed my stuff, grabbed my back and headed home..
When I got home I fixed myself some dinner and as I was about to drift to sleep, I heard my phone ring. I looked at the caller ID and it was my mum..
Urgghhhh!! I picked the call and greeted her and as usual she pestered me about getting married..I told her that I will get married at the right time.
She then told me about a blind date that she arranged for me..I didn't agree at first but after much pestering from her I finally agreed.
Her job being done she told me that she will send me the details and then she ended the call...
I heard a beep 2 minutes later and it was a message from my mum. It read "Krispy Kreme" 2pm..don't keep him waiting.
I quickly replied ok and then I jumped on my bed and went to sleep..
The next morning, I woke up did my usual morning routine but this time I had to go to that dumb date at 2pm..
Ugh!! Anyways I have to get going before am late for work..
I head out and reach the office did some designs. I got a message from mum, she sent me a pic of him and captioned it..
" A picture of your date; just incase. Be punctual". I sighed after reading the message and I hurried home to get ready so I would be "punctual".
I took a bath dressed up and headed to the place wearing a red velvet dress with a slit by the side with silver heels and a black Gucci bag; I did a little makeup just to make an appearance; I no dey carry last...
When I entered the place, I saw many couples on a date. I scanned the room looking for my so called date. I finally saw him..he was not bad tho..so I sat down and we started talking..
"Hey, am Tessa and I guess you know my mum set us up on a date"
" Hi, I do. So lets talk and get to know ourselves just as friends of course"
" Am Tessa, an interior decorator. I studied in Uniben and I have a masters degree. What about you?"
" Am Edward, a business man. I went to London for my masters.."
We talked about our likes and dislikes and we seem to have almost similar likes and dislikes. We flowed well with each other and we didn't know when time flew.
I realized when my mum messaged me;
" Hope you are enjoying your date"
I checked the time and it was 5 pm. I told him that I had to go home. We exchanged numbers and he said that he would call me.
He walked me out and I boarded a cab and went home. He is a really cool person; I thought.
When I got home, my mum called and asked me about the date. No doubt I like him but if I tell my mum she will start planning the marriage. I needed time to really think about it to avoid making mistakes.
" Hello, are you still there"
Mum's voice snapped me out of my thoughts..
"Erm.. yes mum the date was nice. I mean he is a very cool person but am not promising anything yet. I need to think before I make a decision"
" No problem my daughter, but speed up your thinking oo; I want you to get married soon"
" Okay mama, I need to sleep, good bye; I will inform you of my decision"
" Good night nwa m"
The next morning, I dressed up for work and about to leave when I heard a car beep. It was Edward I was so surprised to see him.
I know mum must have told him my address. I just asked him how he knew so I won't seem weird..
"Hey, how did you know my address"
" Erm, your mum gave it to me; am
sorry for coming uninvited though"
"No problem, welcome; I am about going out so.."
" Ohh, cool let me drop you off then"
"Ok".
So I entered his car. We chatted all the way to my work place. I came down from his car and bid him farewell. I entered my office and couldn't concentrate.
I was thinking about him; He is such a gentleman.. I continued working on my work and stopped daydreaming..

Ten years ago, Elizabeth Kaiser was abandoned by her biological father, cast out of her home like a stray dog. A decade later, she returned as a decorated general of Nation A, wielding immense power and wealth beyond measure. The onlookers waited eagerly for her downfall, only to watch in shock as the elite families of Capitol City bowed before her in reverence. Elizabeth smirked coldly. "Want to chase me? Better ask my fists for permission first!"
The roasted lamb was cold, a reflection of her marriage. On their third anniversary, Evelyn Vance waited alone in her Manhattan penthouse. Then her phone buzzed: Alexander, her husband, had been spotted leaving the hospital, holding his childhood sweetheart Scarlett Sharp's hand. Alexander arrived hours later, dismissing Evelyn's quiet complaint with a cold reminder: she was Mrs. Vance, not a victim. Her mother's demands reinforced this role, making Evelyn, a brilliant mind, feel like a ghost. A dangerous indifference replaced betrayal. The debt was paid; now, it was her turn. She drafted a divorce settlement, waiving everything. As Alexander's tender voice drifted from his study, speaking to Scarlett, Evelyn placed her wedding ring on his pillow, moved to the guest suite, and locked the door. The dull wife was gone; the Oracle was back.

After five years of playing the perfect daughter, Rylie was exposed as a stand-in. Her fiancé bolted, friends scattered, and her adoptive brothers shoved her out, telling her to grovel back to her real family. Done with humiliation, she swore to claw back what was hers. Shock followed: her birth family ruled the town's wealth. Overnight, she became their precious girl. The boardroom brother canceled meetings, the genius brother ditched his lab, the musician brother postponed a tour. As those who spurned her begged forgiveness, Admiral Brad Morgan calmly declared, "She's already taken."
Vivian clutched her Hermès bag, her doctor's words echoing: "Extremely high-risk pregnancy." She hoped the baby would save her cold marriage, but Julian wasn't in London as his schedule claimed. Instead, a paparazzi photo revealed his early return-with a blonde woman, not his wife, at the private airport exit. The next morning, Julian served divorce papers, callously ending their "duty" marriage for his ex, Serena. A horrifying contract clause gave him the right to terminate her pregnancy or seize their child. Humiliated, demoted, and forced to fake an ulcer, Vivian watched him parade his affair, openly discarding her while celebrating Serena. This was a calculated erasure, not heartbreak. He cared only for his image, confirming he would "handle" the baby himself. A primal rage ignited her. "Just us," she whispered to her stomach, vowing to sign the divorce on her terms, keep her secret safe, and walk away from Sterling Corp for good, ready to protect her child alone.
In the glittering world of high society and cutthroat ambition, a single sentence shatters a marriage: "Let's get a divorce." Shipped abroad on her wedding day and utterly forgotten, she returns only to be handed divorce papers. But Claire is no longer the timid, heartbroken girl she once was. Behind her quiet facade lies a woman transformed, secretly rejoicing at her newfound freedom. However, freedom comes with a price. As Claire signs the papers with relief, a chilling phone call reveals a dark truth: the threats she faced overseas were no accident, and the trail leads shockingly close to home-to the family that raised her and the husband who discarded her. Just as she prepares to sever all ties, a twist of fate pulls her back into the gilded cage. Nelson, for reasons unknown, suddenly stalls the divorce. Meanwhile, the family that disowned her and the fragile, manipulative sister who stole her life are determined to ruin her reputation and drive her out for good. But Claire is playing a different game now. With a mysterious new identity, powerful allies, and secrets of her own, she is no one's pawn. As hidden truths unravel and loyalties are tested, a stunning question emerges: In this high-stakes battle of love, betrayal, and revenge, who is truly trapping whom?
