Chapter One ~ A Warm Welcome
Brielle loved her job, as she was a waitress and cashier for a small cafe, Tea O'Clock. Not only did she do it for the money, she loved meeting new people and finding out more about personalities. It was just her thing. But she had one particular person in her mind, Lennox.
"Hey Bri!" Lennox acknowledged, as he walked in. Lennox was one of Brielle's, or Bri, as he would call her, regulars.
"Ah! Hey Len! Just the regular today?" The talkative female asked. Brielle knew almost everything about Lennox, I mean, why wouldn't she? He was one of the most supportive people that she had ever met.
"Oh, is it okay if I try your hot chrysanthemum tea today?" Lennox replied, with a tint of shyness in his voice, "A friend recommended it to me, apparently some people really like it."
Brielle smiled, remembering that he hated to try new things, "Of course! Anything else or will that be all?"
"Ah, yeah that would be it!" Lennox grinned back at Brielle, before speaking again, "Oh by the way, your shift ends in about 5 or 10 minutes, correct?"
"Huh? Uh, yeah! W- Um, why do you ask?" Brielle stuttered, feeling her cheeks flushing a tint of rose. She stood there, wondering how he even remembered that, she told him that 2 months ago.
"Perfect! When you're off, join me! I've been needing so many new book recommendations! Oh! And here, keep the change!" The tanned haired male declared, handing the flushed girl a $5 bill, walking away right after.
Lennox looked up from his novel, "Thanks Bri! It smells really nice and fresh!" Brielle watched as Lennox poured the tea into the cup he was given, how could he pour it so gracefully? Lennox snapped as Brielle's brain broke out from her thoughts, "Oh, there you are! You should take off your apron and come sit with me! Your shift is about over, correct?"
"Ah! You're right!" The toffee haired girl bounced, "Be right back, you can enjoy the tea first!" Brielle instructed him as she trotted away. Brielle felt as if she was a walking tomato, she touched her face, as she spotted her manager, Leonard, or Leon.
"Oh, there you are, Brielle." Leon waved as she walked towards him, "I know that your shift ends right now, but is it okay if you bring over the boxes to the coffee station? I'm a little uhm, busy at the moment..."
"Yes, I can see that you are a little busy at the moment," Brielle laughed, looking at one of her co-workers tying Leon's hair up into pigtails, "But sure, I'll go!"
Not many people knew it, but Brielle was actually quite fit and athletic. She had a huge dream of becoming a badminton player.
Darya spent three years loving Micah, worshipping the ground he walked on. Until his neglect and his family's abuse finally woke her up to the ugly truth-he doesn't love her. Never did, never will. To her, he is a hero, her knight in shining armour. To him, she is an opportunist, a gold digger who schemed her way into his life. Darya accepts the harsh reality, gathers the shattered pieces of her dignity, divorces him, takes back her real name, reclaims her title as the country's youngest billionaire heiress. Their paths cross again at a party. Micah watches his ex-wife sing like an angel, tear up the dance floor, then thwart a lecher with a roundhouse kick. He realises, belatedly, that she's exactly the kind of woman he'd want to marry, if only he had taken the trouble to get to know her. Micah acts promptly to win her back, but discovers she's now surrounded by eligible bachelors: high-powered CEO, genius biochemist, award-winning singer, reformed playboy. Worse, she makes it pretty clear that she's done with him. Micah gears up for an uphill battle. He must prove to her he's still worthy of her love before she falls for someone else. And time is running out.
June Rivera was divorced by her husband after three years of marriage because he wanted to be with her sister who was pregnant for him. Kicked to the curb with a divorce and rejected by her parents, she struggles to make ends meet and get a job until she saves Luis Ambrose from an accident - the only child of Rafael Ambrose, a widowed man and the CEO of Ambrose Corporation. When little Luis asks to have her as a nanny, and Rafael's mother pressures him to get married, they draw a contract. To be Luis's nanny and his fake wife for one year in exchange for 50 million dollars!
"Never let anyone treat you like shit!" I learned that the hard way. For three years, I lived with my in-laws. They didn't treat me as their son-in-law but as a slave. I put up with everything because of my wife, Yolanda Lambert. She was the light of my life. Unfortunately, my whole world came crashing down the day I caught my wife cheating on me. I have never been so heartbroken. To have my revenge, I revealed my true identity. I was none other than Liam Hoffmanโthe heir of a family with trillions of dollars in assets! The Lamberts were utterly shocked after the big reveal. They realized what fools they had been for treating me like trash. My wife even knelt down and begged for my forgiveness. What do you think I did? Did I take her back or made her suffer? Find out!
Carrying a child left Adeline trapped in marriage to the ruthless and unhinged Waylon, and everyone doubted she'd survive to see the baby's first breath. Filled with dread but determined, she carefully won him over and soon became his lethal obsession. Yet on the day she planned to escape, Waylon drove their car to a cliff's edge, foot hovering over the gas. "I'm sorry, loveโdid you just say divorce?" His fingers skimmed her cheek, his tone a deadly whisper. "Defy me, and you pay." Later, drenched in blood and rain, he knelt before her, trembling, and pleaded, "Tell me how to keep you here."
The whispers said that out of bitter jealousy, Hadley shoved Eric's beloved down the stairs, robbing the unborn child of life. To avenge, Eric forced Hadley abroad and completely cut her off. Years later, she reemerged, and they felt like strangers. When they met again, she was the nightclub's star, with men ready to pay fortunes just to glimpse her elusive performance. Unable to contain himself, Eric blocked her path, asking, "Is this truly how you earn a living now? Why not come back to me?" Hadley's lips curved faintly. "If youโre eager to see me, youโd better join the queue, darling."
