Chapter One ~ A Warm Welcome
Brielle loved her job, as she was a waitress and cashier for a small cafe, Tea O'Clock. Not only did she do it for the money, she loved meeting new people and finding out more about personalities. It was just her thing. But she had one particular person in her mind, Lennox.
"Hey Bri!" Lennox acknowledged, as he walked in. Lennox was one of Brielle's, or Bri, as he would call her, regulars.
"Ah! Hey Len! Just the regular today?" The talkative female asked. Brielle knew almost everything about Lennox, I mean, why wouldn't she? He was one of the most supportive people that she had ever met.
"Oh, is it okay if I try your hot chrysanthemum tea today?" Lennox replied, with a tint of shyness in his voice, "A friend recommended it to me, apparently some people really like it."
Brielle smiled, remembering that he hated to try new things, "Of course! Anything else or will that be all?"
"Ah, yeah that would be it!" Lennox grinned back at Brielle, before speaking again, "Oh by the way, your shift ends in about 5 or 10 minutes, correct?"
"Huh? Uh, yeah! W- Um, why do you ask?" Brielle stuttered, feeling her cheeks flushing a tint of rose. She stood there, wondering how he even remembered that, she told him that 2 months ago.
"Perfect! When you're off, join me! I've been needing so many new book recommendations! Oh! And here, keep the change!" The tanned haired male declared, handing the flushed girl a $5 bill, walking away right after.
Lennox looked up from his novel, "Thanks Bri! It smells really nice and fresh!" Brielle watched as Lennox poured the tea into the cup he was given, how could he pour it so gracefully? Lennox snapped as Brielle's brain broke out from her thoughts, "Oh, there you are! You should take off your apron and come sit with me! Your shift is about over, correct?"
"Ah! You're right!" The toffee haired girl bounced, "Be right back, you can enjoy the tea first!" Brielle instructed him as she trotted away. Brielle felt as if she was a walking tomato, she touched her face, as she spotted her manager, Leonard, or Leon.
"Oh, there you are, Brielle." Leon waved as she walked towards him, "I know that your shift ends right now, but is it okay if you bring over the boxes to the coffee station? I'm a little uhm, busy at the moment..."
"Yes, I can see that you are a little busy at the moment," Brielle laughed, looking at one of her co-workers tying Leon's hair up into pigtails, "But sure, I'll go!"
Not many people knew it, but Brielle was actually quite fit and athletic. She had a huge dream of becoming a badminton player.
On her wedding day, Khloeโs sister connived with her groom, framing her for a crime she didnโt commit. She was sentenced to three years in prison, where she endured much suffering. When Khloe was finally released, her evil sister used their mother to coerce Khloe into an indecent liaison with an elderly man. As fate would have it, Khloe crossed paths with Henrik, the dashing yet ruthless mobster who sought to alter the course of her life. Despite Henrikโs cold exterior, he cherished Khloe like no other. He helped her take retribution from her tormentors and kept her from being bullied again.
On the day of their wedding anniversary, Joshua's mistress drugged Alicia, and she ended up in a stranger's bed. In one night, Alicia lost her innocence, while Joshua's mistress carried his child in her womb. Heartbroken and humiliated, Alicia demanded a divorce, but Joshua saw it as yet another tantrum. When they finally parted ways, she went on to become a renowned artist, sought out and admired by everyone. Consumed by regret, Joshua darkened her doorstep in hopes of reconciliation, only to find her in the arms of a powerful tycoon. "Say hello to your sister-in-law."
To the public, she was the CEO's executive secretary. Behind closed doors, she was the wife he never officially acknowledged. Jenessa was elated when she learned that she was pregnant. But that joy was replaced with dread as her husband, Ryan, showered his affections on his first love. With a heavy heart, she chose to set him free and leave. When they met again, Ryan's attention was caught by Jenessa's protruding belly. "Whose child are you carrying?!" he demanded. But she only scoffed. "It's none of your business, my dear ex-husband!"
Rumors said that Lucas married an unattractive woman with no background. In the three years they were together, he remained cold and distant to Belinda, who endured in silence. Her love for him forced her to sacrifice her self-worth and her dreams. When Lucas' true love reappeared, Belinda realized that their marriage was a sham from the start, a ploy to save another woman's life. She signed the divorce papers and left. Three years later, Belinda returned as a surgical prodigy and a maestro of the piano. Lost in regret, Lucas chased her in the rain and held her tightly. "You are mine, Belinda."
As a simple assistant, messaging the CEO in the dead of night to request shares of adult films was a bold move. Bethany, unsurprisingly, didn't receive any films. However, the CEO responded that, while he had no films to share, he could offer a live demonstration. After a night filled with passion, Bethany was certain she'd lose her job. But instead, her boss proposed, "Marry me. Please consider it." "Mr. Bates, you're kidding me, right?"
Dear readers, this book has resumed daily updates. It took Sabrina three whole years to realize that her husband, Tyrone didn't have a heart. He was the coldest and most indifferent man she had ever met. He never smiled at her, let alone treated her like his wife. To make matters worse, the return of the woman he had eyes for brought Sabrina nothing but divorce papers. Sabrina's heart broke. Hoping that there was still a chance for them to work on their marriage, she asked, "Quick question,Tyrone. Would you still divorce me if I told you that I was pregnant?" "Absolutely!" he responded. Realizing that she didn't mean shit to him, Sabrina decided to let go. She signed the divorce agreement while lying on her sickbed with a broken heart. Surprisingly, that wasn't the end for the couple. It was as if scales fell off Tyrone's eyes after she signed the divorce agreement. The once so heartless man groveled at her bedside and pleaded, "Sabrina, I made a big mistake. Please don't divorce me. I promise to change." Sabrina smiled weakly, not knowing what to do...
