Sidd didn't miss a beat. "How much for just a night?" "S-sir?" Lois stuttered. Then he composed himself. "Excuse me sir, I don't quite get you..." "I asked how much it would cost me to have her for a night." Sidd said again, turning around to pin Lois down with a hard stare. "I don't like repeating myself." Dumbfounded was an understatement to describe what Lois felt. The expensive MacBook pro nearly toppled from his hand, along with the suitcase, but a tiny part of his mind was able to stop that from happening. He tried to get something out, but whatever came out of his mouth was unintelligible. Sidd's stare never wavered. He stared down at his secretary, who was a couple inches below him in height, and Lois was actually a tall man. Sidd was losing patience. "I am waiting to hear you talk." Lois slowly got over the surprise and considered his options. When he remembered that the CEO asked how much it would cost, the gears in his mind clicked fast, reminding him of how he could elevate himself to the next level financially of he played his cards right. The CEO was a gold mine, and he could make a fortune if he gave him what he wanted. He didn't think twice about what he wanted. "To have ten percent share of D&S."
Nuella heard her stomach rumble uncomfortable under the curve of her soft, voluptuous breasts in her tank top. She sighed and stared up at the majestic and giant clock hanging on the tall glass wall of the lobby.
Three hours.
Three damn hours and her boyfriend Lois hadn't stepped out yet so they could go home and eat something. She only had a milkshake before rushing off for a lecture in the morning, and now she was ready to devour a whole cow alive. Yes, she was at that point. It didn't help that this place was making her even more nervous.
Everything was glass and screamed billion-dollar wealth. The employees that constantly passed by all looked like they stepped off the cover of a business fashion runway. They all had that air of self importance, barely throwing her a glance as they breezed past. Even the giant porcelain painting of an angel with large wings seemed like it cost more than her entire existence.
Where the hell was Lois?
She stood up from the seat for the umpteenth time in a row, pacing slightly. If he didn't show up in the next ten minutes, she made up her mind that she would just leave. She frowned slightly, smoothly down the invisible creases on her small skirt. After all, this was a Friday. He shouldn't be taking this long. Worse, he wasn't answering his texts.
She could not call, because D&S production billion-dollar company was really strict with unnecessary calls during work hours. Lois had warned her about how ruthless his boss could be, and she didn't want to get her boyfriend in trouble at work.
Especially when the job was so important to them.
Lois told her he'd been working here for five years before he even had the honor to become the secretary to the CEO. That position came with a lot of opportunities and a giant paycheck, and he had been doing so well financially. He even got her gifts and so many things that made her heart melt from the sweetness. The only thing about the job she didn't like was the big boss.
She shuddered just thinking about him.
The man was Satan himself. Well, that was what she heard. He was ruthless, unstoppable when it came to acquiring power and he had the infuriating confidence that he can get whatever, that is anything at all, he wants in this world without sweat. From the whispers about him being the terror of the business world, she decided she hated men like that. Men who had complete disregard for anyone who was beneath them.
Nuella didn't care one bit about riches, or how high he might be on the Forbes' list. She only cared about how human a man was. That's what attracted her to Lois. He was so humane, sweet. He might be annoying sometimes -like right now- but she loved him for who he is, not his paycheck.
Shaking her head, she muttered. "Why am I even thinking about such random stuff?" She adjusted her small bag on her bare shoulder and checked the time again. "Five more minutes and I'll leave."
Her legs were starting to ache from pacing around, so she made to go back to her seat. However, the elevator at the far opposite end beeped suddenly, making her pause in her tracks.
The sleek elevator doors began to slide upon and she perked up, hoping it was her boyfriend, but the person that strode out made her small smile fade off. And she went still, stunned by the sight in front of her. It was a Greek God. He was towering, tall and broad and well-built like a stallion. His aura was so powerful that it blinded her, overwhelmed her senses and scrambled her mind. It didn't take two guesses for her to know exactly who he was.
The big boss. The CEO.
He looked straight at her, and Nuella was shocked by the intensity of his dark stare. He had mesmerizing eyes, but that realization made a spike of fear shoot down her spine. That made him more dangerous. This was her first time seeing him, and even sharing direct eye contact with the devil. But she decided it would also be her last.
Sidd did a slow, tortuous appraisal of the beautiful, soft and exotic-looking girl standing in the lobby, with a lost expression on her face. He was a master of reading people, and he could see her sheepishness and innocence in the uncomfortable way she held her bag tighter, and nibbled on her bottom lip.
Those lips. She was like a puppy. And he would have fun vandalizing that innocence.
He shifted his gaze forward, listening to the footsteps of his secretary echoing behind him like a little shadow. He did not have to look back to know that Lois, his employee, knew that girl. So he asked coolly, "Who is she?"
Lois looked up from the MacBook pro he had been staring at and trailed his eyes to the other side, instantly noticing Nuella. He could recognize his girlfriend's beautiful ginger-red hair and petite, curvy body anywhere.
"That's my girlfriend." Lois said, staring at his Boss' side profile warily.
Sidd didn't miss a beat. "How much for just a night?"
"S-sir?" Lois stuttered. Then he composed himself. "Excuse me sir, I don't quite get you..."
"I asked how much it would cost me to have her for a night." Sidd said again, turning around to pin Lois down with a hard stare. "I don't like repeating myself."
