It all started from the moment Nina met the Miles twins, dark sorcerers, at a bar party her roommate, Steph, took her to. Their sexy body had called her attention. At a time when her ex-boyfriend tried to push himself on her, the twins helped her out, and there, she got close to them. Soon, she is in a sexual fantasy with them, exploring every part of her body. As time goes on, she realized the monster they are, and also, got to know their full story, especially how they became immortals. It turns out that she isn't the first woman they'd manipulate under their control. However, she is unable to stay away from them as she is addicted to their touch already. In this process of trying to run away from them, she lost her best friend and her uncle, but still couldn't find herself stopping to crave them. But then, a new individual, Gavin, came into the scene to help her out, having perceived the scent of dark sorcery on her and immediately knew she is being manipulated by the twins. Although, he falls in love with Nina, he is not able to come out to her, as he knows she isn't going to accept him: not from what she has just faced. Also, she has a lot to learn about what fate has in store for her, and a distraction isn't what she needs at all.
Prologue.
I know you have heard of this relevance many times. It all begins with the monsters, lurking in the dark, waiting in the shadows until no one is looking, and then, they strike.
I witnessed one, and to be specific, I found myself in a likewise situation, so you can only imagine why I wish to tell you my story.
The things that we are supposed to hate the most are usually the things that do attract us, that gives the pleasure that our body wants.
Sexual sins and temptation, these are the qualities I never thought I'd get myself addicted to, given my past, included. They told me that the Sanusi twins are evil, that they are the monsters in the shadows.
I never heed. And here I am, with the sexual urge that I want them now and then. Now, they have my reasoning wrapped in their hands, and I seem to have no regrets. I am so engulfed.
My name is Nina Lennon, and I have no idea if I would ever overcome the sexual addiction I have for these twins. Plus, there is a lot of mess about paranormality that I'm about to be sucked into.
Chapter One.
In a coffee shop, somewhere in the small town of Kentucky. Nine Thirty-Seven in the evening.
Nina's POV.
With a halt in my breathing, I continue, "... And as devastating as the situation is, Katherine vowed never to place the wants of others first, before hers. She knows that she may have done the wrong thing, but it wasn't her fault that she was a mate to the Vampire Nicholas, a ruthless one at that, but he was willing to change for her. However, the Hunter Gregor who was in love with her would never be enough as the way Nicholas is."
"She was willing to go further miles with him, in the knot they've found themselves. Humans would cast her as a traitor, but as long as she aims for her happiness, she believes that is all. Nature has blessed her with her one true love, and regardless of the barrier between their species, that night they made love for the hundredth time, and it felt like their first, over and over again." I flip the back cover of the book, closing the last page, and stare at the audience in front of me.
I am seated on a steel footstool, whilst the others sit opposite to me, on wooden chairs.
"So, what do you think?" I question, my anxiety waltzing in at their silence.
"Perfecto." Applauds Mrs Smith before the rest of my audience claps along. Before my realization, a drop of tear falls from my eyes, my vision already blurs at the brim.
"Thank you so much." My voice is little.
"That is astounding. We would love to read more, please." Says a girl from the back, and quickly, I smile back.
"I promise, you would, sometime soon." And that is the kind of promise I could make. As I put the manuscript back into my bag, standing to my feet at the same time, Mrs Smith comes to meet me.
"That was a perfect paranormal you have written, my dear." She acknowledges, and I smile.
She has been my favourite reader from day one, as her support for my books never lacked. She once told me that she wanted to be a writer but never got to bring her words on a book, because of family issues, so she would support me in every way she can. I'm grateful that I have someone like her.
"Mrs Smith..." I am just beginning when I hear a thunderous sound from the outside. "Excuse me, please."
"Sure." My tone is precise and low.
"Ladies and gentlewomen, please," instinctively, I clap my hands to get more of their attentions, "let's get ourselves moving out of the building. It's getting much darker outside, and I think the rain is about to drop." As I finish saying, another woman approaches me and place a soft kiss on my cheeks.
I return her warm smile, as she leaves the building before I go back to meet Mrs Smith.
"You know, I feel so popular right now, like a celebrity," saying to Mrs Smith, I laugh. By the way, her blonde hair is much more wavy today, and her porcelain skin is elegant.
"Oh, you are supposed to. Um, I've made these quick evaluations, and here they are: you're done with college now, graduated with all those degrees or whatever," I chuckle at her funny way of putting it, "so, when do you plan on writing a book two of "The Shackled" for us?"
I place my hands on her shoulders, "Mrs Smith, I'm sorry, but it can't be now, at all. My graduation comes with a lot of perks that I can't even begin to talk about. Part of it is my boyfriend and I have planned on travelling around some part of the States, you know, do some sightseeing, live life until I have to decide for either Masters or probably looking for companies to publish my books." I pause for a second, "plus, today is my last day in this town, so, writing isn't on my list at this moment." I add, and thankfully, she gets the hint and leaves the room, too.
I am alone in the space now. Again, I hear the thunderous sound, lightening up the sky at occasion. It seems it wishes to rain with anger tonight.
As I begin to arrange the tables and pack up for the day, my mind reels over the my bucket list for the next few months.
For starters, my name is Nina Lennon, a twenty-four years old, who's just graduated from college last week. Badly, I wish to leave this sick town; don't mind me, but yes, to me, it's sick. And my boyfriend, Ashley, and I have just the perfect plan to make things better.
Trust me, it's been months since I wrote any of my books, and the part of the reason why I started this small book club is because I needed closure to my books by having to read them, so I don't forget the plots.
That apart, I have always believed in sightseeing, that travelling to different places, would help me grow my imagination and I hope it works its magic.
Anyway, I'm done packing up things. This is going to be my last night here, and I'm actually missing my space already.
At the moment, I'm behind the counter. As I pick my bag up, my sight catches a package, containing a packet of cupcakes. By the way, those are my favourite snacks and I barely go a day without them. Then, I take my umbrella with me, as the rain has already started.
Taciturn: the room. My footsteps make a resonating sound as I make my way to the end of the room, which is also the close to the back of the building.
I open the door lightly, standing as silent as I can at the threshold. My gaze holds the figure of my boss, sitting on an one-seater couch with his legs crossed under him, and wait...is that a pillow he is biting down on, as he is engulfed by whatever he's watching on the television?
I shake my head, as I scoff and walk towards him, but because of the light, coming from the screen and his inattentiveness, he didn't see me until I'm uprightly standing behind the television and his eyes widens, as he bolts up from the couch.
"Oh, my... what the actual...? Nina. You had looked like a real life Wednesday." He says, and involuntarily, my hands go to my hair. Oh, I have my jet black hair dressed in a ponytail, reaching below my breasts, and it melts with my tanned sandy skin colour.
Anyway, that isn't what has caught my focus. Quickly, I jump to the other side, and seeing him watching the Wednesday series, I scream lowly. "The heck, boss."
"Language," but who cares about that? I've already resigned, anyway.
"This is crazy. What episode are you?"
"Six."
"Wow. Cool. Welcome to the sadistic life of the fictional Wednesday."
He huffs, rolling his eyes, "whatever is that supposed to mean?" But rhetorically, he's asked, so I didn't bother answering.
However, I changed the topic, "so, it's late and time I left."
He nods his head, having paused the movie. "Plus, you are leaving, like, forever."
He makes me want to cry, but I won't. He isn't worth it. I'm just kidding, though, seriously. "I'll miss you." I tell him and pull him into a hug. He accepts it with crocodile tears. I go further to patting him on the back. "Trust me, you'll be fine."
"Sure. Oh, I have a gift for you." My crazy boss has a gift for me? Maybe I should graduate more than once, so I can be treated this nice.
I gasp when we get back to the main room, and he brings out the package I had seen earlier.
"Oh-mi-gosh. That is for me." I am flattered.
"This is for you," he acknowledges. I collect it from him and place a kiss on his cheeks.
My boss, Simon, is only a few years older than me. He never told me his actual age, as he's a crazy one, and yes, he taught me how to be a boss lady who wouldn't allow anyone boss her around. So, I like him for that. Additionally, his perfect British accent always blown me off. He wanted to be an actor, so that's why his English is particularly more trained.
A few minutes later, I am done and ready to leave. I check the time, and it says a ten twenty. I'm so late. My uncle would kill me, literally.
That aside, I should have gotten a call from Ashley. He's supposed to come and pick me up. My subconscious is currently telling me that he would fuck up.
If I am to judge him by his inability to hold to time and great accomplishment at messing up, we wouldn't still be together for six months now.
Shifting my mind off of him for a second to the heavy rain, I pull my hood over my head and tighten the lace and get out of the building.
On her wedding day, Khloe’s sister connived with her groom, framing her for a crime she didn’t commit. She was sentenced to three years in prison, where she endured much suffering. Darya spent three years loving Micah, worshipping the ground he walked on. Until his neglect and his family's abuse finally woke her up to the ugly truth-he doesn't love her. Never did, never will. To her, he is a hero, her knight in shining armour. To him, she is an opportunist, a gold digger who schemed her way into his life. Darya accepts the harsh reality, gathers the shattered pieces of her dignity, divorces him, takes back her real name, reclaims her title as the country's youngest billionaire heiress. Their paths cross again at a party. Micah watches his ex-wife sing like an angel, tear up the dance floor, then thwart a lecher with a roundhouse kick. He realises, belatedly, that she's exactly the kind of woman he'd want to marry, if only he had taken the trouble to get to know her. Micah acts promptly to win her back, but discovers she's now surrounded by eligible bachelors: high-powered CEO, genius biochemist, award-winning singer, reformed playboy. Worse, she makes it pretty clear that she's done with him. Micah gears up for an uphill battle. He must prove to her he's still worthy of her love before she falls for someone else. And time is running out.
Five years ago, he upped and left his wife without informing her. He had always felt unworthy. As a result, he decided to go and become a better man. It took him five whole years of daily hard work. When he was satisfied, he returned as a powerful and honorable man. He intended to start a family with his wife. But he got back to meet the greatest shocker of his life. He actually had a daughter!
She was hurt. She was bullied and made fun of. And the only hope that kept her going was finding her mate. She has always been weak. Weak to the world. Why? Because she was a lantern. She didn't have a wolf. That's what everyone thought about her. When she found her mate, he wanted her to be his slut and not a wife. She might be an omega, but it doesn't mean she will take disloyalty and betrayal lightly. So she did something that no one in history ever did. She rejected an Alpha. "I, Alexis Clark, reject Brandon Sterling, the alpha of Black mist pack, and consider myself a free soul until I decide so."; Were her last words before she left that torturous place and became a rogue. A rogue that everyone was fearing and finding. Why? Because she was the rogue that has become one of the biggest problems of almost all the packs in the country. She was Alexis Clark. A rogue that rejected an Alpha, stealth food, kill other rogues, and more than that was living with humans and studying with them. What will happen when her case is given to the world's most dangerous alpha, Sebastian Sinclair, who has taken it upon himself to punish this rogue. The one who hated rogues and omega to a level that was beyond understanding. Why? Because his mate was an omega, who betrayed him with a rogue before dying. How will Alexis tackle this alpha, in whose College she was studying and living under hiding for almost a year? What will Sebastian do when he finds out the new girl he had been talking to is none other than the rogue omega that he had decided to kill? "To love you with all my might was my only wish, but you were the only one who gave me endless suffering. So today, I promise myself to not fall for anyone."; A simple saying that both Alexis and Sebastian had vowed upon. Will they be able to find their love amidst all these problems?
Kallie, a mute who had been ignored by her husband for five years since their wedding, also suffered the loss of her pregnancy due to her cruel mother-in-law. After the divorce, she learned that her ex-husband had quickly gotten engaged to the woman he truly loved. Holding her slightly rounded belly, she realized that he had never really cared for her. Determined, she left him behind, treating him as a stranger. Yet, after she left, he scoured the globe in search of her. When their paths crossed once more, Kallie had already found new happiness. For the first time, he pleaded humbly, "Please don't leave me..." But Kallie's response was firm and dismissive, cutting through any lingering ties. "Get lost!"
"You're mine, little puppy," Kylan growled against my neck. A soft gasp escaped my lips as his lips brushed my skin. My mind screamed at me to push him away-the Lycan Prince who had humiliated me again and again, but my body betrayed me, leaning into him before I could stop myself. He pressed his lips against mine, and his kiss grew more aggressive, more possessive as I felt my legs weaken. What was I doing? In a split-second, I pulled away and slapped him hard across the face. Kylan's eyes darkened, but the smirk on his lips exposed his amusement. "You and I both know we can't fight this, Violet," he said, gripping my wrist. "You're my mate." "And yet you don't want me," I replied. "You told me you were ashamed of me, that l'd never be your queen, that you'd never love me. So please, accept my rejection and let me go." "Never," he whispered, his grip tightening as he pulled me closer. "Soon enough, you'll be begging for me. and when you do-I'll use you as I see fit and then I'll reject you."
