I believe that one should enjoy life while he or she still has the time to do so. Life is too short to waste working your ass off without gaining much out of it.

My name is Stanley Durkin the only heir to Durkin's holdings one of the biggest corporations in the country. My parents died in a car accident when I was twelve years old, and I was left with my grandfather James Durkin the founder of Durkin's holdings.

I was sent out of the country by my grandfather after my parents burial, at the age of twelve I was all on my own with total strangers surrounding me. No family to guide me, everything I learned as a teenager and an adult is from the people around, kids from the boarding school, friends from college. It's like a jungle out there.

I met a lot of friends while staying in a foreign land, I have my grandfather's money which made things easier for me. The only friend that stayed with me until now is Davis and that is why he is my best friend.

Davis is one of the reasons I graduate reasons school and college cause he got my back academically while I got his financially, it's a win-win situation.

I received a message from my grandfather's assistant that I should come back home because my grandfather because me to take over the family business.

After fifteen years of not seeing me and not having any idea how my life has turned out, the almighty James Durkin wants me home to take over the family business.

Could it be that he is sick or even he can't function again? Probably in a sick bed. This is the thoughts that haTheseen going on in my mindhavence I got the message from his assistant. There is lack of details in the message ge just coming back home that it is coming.

Have you packed everything you will need? Davis asked me. His question brought me out of my thoughts.

I think so but if there is anything missing am sure I will replace them without any stress, I answered him.

Are you done with your packing? I asked him.

Yeah, am done everything I need is here, he answered gesturing to his bags on the floor.

I insisted on Davis coming with me 'cause I don't know what the old man has up his sleeve, and I don't know if he will put me in charge of that large corporation immediately. That is the reason why Davis is here with me so that anything that they throw at me, with him beside me I will succeed.

I have never worked for once in my life, I don't know what working to earn a living means. All I ever do all my life is spend money, party and sleep around with different types of girls.

Am sure you will miss your night adventures, Davis said to me while giving me a mischievous smile.

Yeah, that's true but am sure there are more beautiful girls back home and now I will

be announced as the person in charge of Durkin's corporation it will be twice the fun.

Am aware that he is not a fan of me sleeping around with different girls but he will not voice it out cause he is afraid that I will cut him off which I will never do cause he is the family I know. But I will not let him know that, cause I am glad that he is afraid to lose me, I never had anybody afraid to lose me.

I have been abandoned all my life by my parents and grandfather.

Our bags are ready and we are also ready to leave for the airport where our flight will be waiting for us.

Our ride to the airport arrived and the driver put our luggage in the car, we entered the car the driver drive to the airport at the beginning of my journey. I can feel the wind of change blowing around me.

We arrived at the airport and as I expected my grandfather's private jet is there waiting for us with the famous Durkin logo proudly on it.

Wow, you never mention anything about any private jet, Davis said to me while staring at the jet while smiling from ear to ear.

Well, I don't think it was necessary, I replied him in a nonchalant tone cause I don't see the big deal and I thought he should have expected that already. Come on we are talking about Durkin's holdings here.

We entered the jet, get ourselves settled and ready for the flight. I looked around to see two female attendants I smiled to myself just the right distraction I need for this four hours flight.

Hey man, thank you for taking me with you, Davis thanked me looking for so happy.

I was not expecting the appreciation but am glad that he values this.

You are my best friend Davis and my brother, I will take you anywhere am going unless you are the one that doesn't want to, there is no need for you to thank me we are friends and that's what friends do for each other.

Sure, still thank you, he said and relaxed in his seat while fastening his seat belt cause we are about to take off.

One of the reasons he is coming with me is because of his work experience unlike me. I was not sure that he will agree to come with me when I brought up the idea of coming with me, cause he has a good position in the company where he was working.

Well, I guess this is his way of showing his loyalty.

The four hours of the flight passed in a blur cause I spent most of it flirting with one of the female flight attendants.

We stepped out from the jet to be greeted by my grandfather's assistant.

This is the third time am meeting him and each time I met him, he never smiles am convinced that he hates my guts.

Hi Mr Mark, am guessing my grandfather sent you to meet us? I asked while smiling brightly at him which I know that he will never return.

I can feel Davis staring at him probably trying to read him, he is good at reading people.

Yes Mr Durkin, the car is this way, he answered pointing towards the terminal.

On our way to the car, I decided to ask him about what I have been curious about.

So, Mr Mark tells me, is my grandfather already on his sick bed? I asked him hoping he will answer me but all I got from him is a dirty look.

I don't mean to sound rude, but it's strange for him to ask me to come back all of a sudden, I mean the man doesn't even pay attention to me for the past fifteen years, so why now? I asked him.

I don't think that is a question that I have to answer, you should ask your grandfather when you get home Mr Durkin, He answered me and roll up the barrier so that I will not ask him questions any longer.

I think he doesn't like you, Davis who has been silent all this while said to me.

That has already been established from our first meeting, I told him. He laughed at what I said and rolled down the window so that he can watch the scenery.

Am already looking forward to meeting my grandfather, I wonder how he is looking right now. Maybe wrinkly and sick at the same time.
