Sophie Nelson signed a contract with the most honorable man in Eastern Mainland to trade for freedom, but she ran away at the last second before deal's done. After three years, Sophie returns to Eastern Mainland as a different woman with a new identity, new career and a new common looking. Now Maria Thompson who used to be Sophie is a fresh convener in the top university, where only students from the powerful and rich clans are welcome, and now she is ruthless and heartless that she is definitely planning to destroy her enemies who ruined her life and love years before. Yet the only problem is that taking her revenge would hurt Charlie Flores who's dying to love her since she swore to herself that hate and love would never exist in her heart at the same time.
In her snow-white dress, Sophie Nelson stood by the window and watched the other woman in front of her smile oddly. The woman said to Sophie without making a sound, "You're no match for me."
A nightmare then ensued for Sophie as the woman leaped from the window.
It was supposed to be Sophie's engagement day, but she had been framed up as a criminal.
Sophie's fiancé held the woman, who had fallen in a pool of blood, in his arms and cried out, vowing to avenge her.
The Nelson Family, as a result of this incident, kicked Sophie out of the house and decisively cut off all ties with her.
The court sentenced Sophie to eight years in prison, which meant that she would spend the best years of her life behind bars.
What awaited her in the future was endless darkness.
The icy sensation spread through Sophie's limbs, which made her shivered all over.
She snapped awake.
"Are you going to sleep in the bathtub all night?"
The male's deep voice was slightly teasing and full of impatience.
The handsome, firm-featured man had his hands clasped around his chest as if proclaiming his position as the master.
"I accidentally fell asleep," Sophie replied in an emotionless tone, involuntarily lowering her eyes.
The man was well-shaped and muscular, wearing only a towel that barely covered his lower body.
His skin was fine-tanned, and his muscles were tight and undulating, but not exaggerated, in just the right way.
Sophie dropped her head, nervously, "I'll be right there."
"I don't have time to wait for you!" the man said as he bent down to lift Sophie out of the tub. But the moment he touched her, he almost threw her out. "Damn it!"
The water in the bathtub had long since gone cold, also causing the woman's body to freeze.
The man could not help but burst out cursing, then fetched a dry towel and quickly cleaned her off before carrying her into the bedroom with broad steps and tossing her onto the king-size white bed. "Get under the covers and warm up your body."
Sophie felt dizzy from being dropped on the bed.
Seeing that she was not moving, the man said impatiently, "Hurry up! You're cold as an ice sculpture now. How do you want me to make love to you? I don't want to rape a corpse."
Sophie was speechless.
She ducked under the covers and watched the man turn to pour some wine. His shoulders were broad, his hips tight, his back sexy and inviting.
He was a man whose appearance was perfect to the point of being impeccable.
But his personality was bossy, fiery, and mean.
Sophie dropped her eyes, the intoxicating scent of red wine drifting into her nostrils.
"Don't you act reluctant. I'm the one who fished you out of jail and gave you your freedom. You have to give something back to me, right?" The man was holding a drink in his hand. Sophie kept her head down, so she did not see the wicked smile upon his lips.
"You're right." Sophie bit her bottom lip, good-naturedly, and did not argue.
It was not a forced deal between them but fair trade.
He had gotten her out of jail, thus, she was willing to serve him as his woman.
It seemed that the man wanted to keep her a mistress.
Actually, Sophie did not want that to happen. Also, so far, she did not even know the man's name.
So, this was just a hormonal deal between a man and a woman.
She had a lot to do, so she planned to leave this man after tonight.
"Have some wine." The man said in a leisurely tone, shaking the glass in his hand before handing it to the front of the woman.
"I don't want to drink it." She was afraid that she would not be able to follow through with her plans after drinking the wine.
The man narrowed his eyes. Whenever he wore such an expression, Sophie felt agitated, as if she were facing a fierce beast.
They had met each other no more than eight hours, but it seemed natural for her to catch the subtle changes in the man's mood.
"I want you to drink." The man's tone was overbearing and maniacal.
"I really don't want to."
For twenty years, Sophie had lived putting up with the hypocrisy of her adoptive parents, the ridicule from her classmates and friends, and the deceit of her fiancé.
As a result, being tolerant only resulted in sending her to jail.
She was not the man's maid and would not do all his bidding.
