"Look at things from other people's perspective, then you'll truly understand life's worth" I live by that statement everyday of my life, but it's always hard this way-- Why you may ask? It's simple: no one cares about anything but themselves. So I lived a secret life in another country for 3 years, all because I wanted to experience something new in my life. Little did I know what was in store for me-- I lived with my fiancée's family, because I had no money, in a foreign country, thousands of miles from my hometown. I was treated poorly because I couldn't live up to their standards... or so they thought. I put up with everything because of my fiancée, Allie Fiszer. She was my everything. I did all I could for her. Unfortunately, my whole world became dark the day I caught my girlfriend cheating on me. Heartbreak can't even begin to describe the pain I felt inside my chest. To have my revenge, I revealed who I was: I was none other than Felix "Apollo" Reynolds - a guitar shop employee by day and the elusive frontman of the world-famous band 'Asylum #5' by night! The whole family was shocked after this. My fiancée even begged for my mercy. What do you think I did? Read on and find out... if you dare.
Felix Reynolds exited the supply room of Heavy Metal Guitar Co. in Merrillville with a box in his hands.
This box held a priceless Gidson FG, one of the most iconic guitars of all time.
He walked up to the front counter, with a very long line of consumers behind it.
He brought the guitar up to a gentleman, a woman was with him, holding hands. Her back was turned to Felix, apparently taking a phone call.
"Here is the guitar you ordered Mr. Lewis" He said to the consumer.
Mr. Lewis looked at Felix, with a shade of disappointment in his eyes.
"What is this??"
Felix looked at the box's label, it clearly had Mr. Lewis' name and order info for this guitar specifically.
"Is there something wrong sir?"
"Of course there is! It's not the right color at all!"
Felix often knew that when a consumer ordered an item online, the color looks a little more bright than it does in person.
"Mr. Lewis, the item you ordered is the color stated on our website. It looks slightly different because of how computer screens look. I can try to find a different colored one for you."
"That will be okay, I'm sure my friend wouldn't mind."
This is when time froze for Felix, he knew that voice very well... it sounded exactly like his fiancée's.
He couldn't believe it, there must be a mistake.
He tried to pretend it wasn't true, but he couldn't resist looking at the woman next to Mr. Lewis' side.
"The color will still shimmer with the stage lights when he is performing his solos perfectly"
When Felix heard this, he almost broke the fretboard in half.
"What are you saying Allie?!"
He was right. The voice was his fiancée. The beautiful woman taking a phone call was his girlfriend.
He felt like the world was crumbling around him, he could barely stand behind the counter.
Felix stared at Allie Fiszer with anger in his voice, "Allie, we have been together for three years, engaged. For all these years, I have been a loyal boyfriend and put up with you and your family's nonsense. You never even showed interest in rock music, yet I always supported your dreams and goals. I thought you were just not interested, but what is this?? How could you cheat on this man, and show him off so blatantly where I work! What did I do to deserve this? What did I do wrong?"
"Oh, hey there Felix. I t-thought you were on vacation with your friends this week." Allie said after finally ending her phone call and looking at Felix all shocked.
It was at this exact moment that Mr. Lewis smiled wickedly and said, "You said this guy was a worthless piece of scum, and wouldn't be leaving tonight because he wasn't worth your time. I called into the store and got the latest possible pick-up time to see what a worthless loser he is."
Mr. Lewis then looked at Felix disgustingly.
Allie recovered from the shock she had and looked at Felix indifferently.
She really thought Felix was a loser. Everything he got was because of her and her family. Without them, he would have nothing. No job. No house. No life. So why did he think he could say these things?
"Felix, I am not cheating on you with anyone. George is just a long-time friend of mine, and we are getting him a new guitar."
Felix clenched his jaw and sneered, "Does buying a new guitar involve idolizing him and holding hands?"
The people behind George looked at him and compared him to Felix.
"You shouldn't be complaining. George Lewis is a prominent rock-star in the band 'Fresh Water'. You're just a guitar shop employee. How can you two possibly compare? His band has released several albums and has a fan base of over one million loyal fans. You can't possibly compare to that."
George's ego became more boasted after hearing this. He kissed Allie's neck, grabbed the guitar and gave it to Allie.
Allie hesitated for a minute. Then she took the guitar, held it and smiled happily.
Felix was staring at the scene in front of him. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
He gripped the edge of the counter so hard that the edge started to creak. He could only feel anger and resentment in his chest.
When George heard this he said, "Do you want to fight me? Go ahead. That will just show how much of a loser you really are!"
Allie just looked at Felix coldly "Just forget about this, George and I are just friends. You don't want to cause a scene, do you?"
Felix loosened his grip on the counter and told her, "You will regret this someday, Allie."
Then he closed the register and walked to the supply room.
Allie looked at his figure walking away, but said nothing at all.
Felix got in the supply room ready to leave for the evening when he heard a ringing sound from his pocket.
He answered the phone immediately, his best friend, Marshall Davies' voice was on the other end of the line.
"Felix, the group decided that they wanted to end the hiatus and go on a tour... around the world this time."
Marshall stopped, then said, "You can come back to your role as our frontman. We all want to see you again."
"Okay", Felix replied in a very sharp voice... he knew that the group would eventually get back together, he wasn't expecting it to be three long years.
Marshall exclaimed, "Maybe you can bring your fiancée too. You can bring her to the opening act and reveal your true identity to her."
Felix's eyes turned cold, and his voice became bitter, "No. The witch doesn't get the pleasure."
