Frenemies My eyes peeled open as a full blast of sunshine hit on my hard. All day having cool friends and people around me
💋Rylie's POV💋
My eyes peeled open as a full blast of sunshine hit me in the face. I groaned as I turned over, trying to get some sleep when my brother suddenly sauntered into the room.
"Rylie! Wake up!"
I ignored him trying to act as though I was still asleep. He called me a few more times but eventually left when I didn't budge only to return a few moments later and before I knew what was going on, he was pouring a bucket of icy cold water all over me.
"Miles!!!" I yelled frigidly.
He smirked and said "Good morning to you, sis."
"I am so going to kill you." I yelled running after him.
"Guys! Guys! What is it now?" My mom asked, Miles hiding behind her.
"Miles poured cold water all over me."
"Only because she wouldn't wake up." Miles yelled back and I growled.
"Rylie, go get ready for school. Miles, go up to Rylie's room and clean up the mess the mess you made."
"But Mom..." He tried arguing but one look from my mom stopped him.
Instead he sighed and groaned out a "Yes Ma'am."
As he passed by me, I stuck out my tongue.
"You're such a child."
"And you're such a jerk." I replied, heading up the stairs to the bathroom.
I got to the bathroom and took off all my clothes before heading to the shower and turning it on. It felt good as the warm water cascaded down my body. I was done in no time and I came out to find my room sparkling clean.
I headed towards my closet and picked out the clothes to wear which were a white tank top, blue ripped jeans and white sneakers.
Once I was done dressing, I packed all my necessities into my backpack and headed downstairs for breakfast.
"Morning Mom. Morning Dad. Morning butthead brother of mine."
"Morning to you too, fish face." Miles retorted but before I could reply, my mom jumped in and said "That's enough you two. Eat your breakfast."
"Yes mom." We replied in unison, still giving each other the stink eye.
"So Mom, what's with the noise next door?" I asked, halfway through my sandwich.
"Well we have new neighbors."
"New neighbors!?" I asked, louder than I intended.
"Yeah, new neighbors."
"Who are they?" I tried to ask as casually as I could.
"I haven't had time to meet them yet but they got here late yesterday. You were already asleep."
"Oh okay." I replied going back to my food as I took a trip down memory lane.
The house next door had belonged to my boyfriend, or rather ex boyfriend. He and his family had had to move away during the summer and despite all my hopes that we could do it long distance, it didn't work out.
A few weeks after they moved, he uploaded a picture of himself and a girl kissing. I tried calling him to talk it out but he didn't pick my calls...and basically ruined my summer.
I told myself I was over it but it's hard to get over something like that...
"Thanks for the excellent food, Mom. Now I gotta go." I said standing up from my chair and heading to the kitchen sink where I dumped my plate.
"Bye Mom. Bye Dad. Bye butthead." I said as I headed out of the house, not waiting to hear his response.
I made my way to my car and went in. I closed the door, started the car and reversed out of the drive way before heading in the direction of my school.
Rylie Myers is my name. I'm nineteen and I live in Los Angeles, California with my mom, dad and my dumb twin brother, Miles. We live a pretty comfortable life and I really couldn't be happier. I also have two best friends, Olivia and Mason but you'll get to meet them later.
And that's basically all you need to know about me. There's more but you'll find those out later on.

Our first class went by as uneventful as could be. It was Maths and it was extremely boring. Nevertheless we pulled through and went on to our next class; History.
However, just before class, I made a visit to the toilet where I ran into an unexpected visitor.
"So we'll catch up later?" I said to Olivia who nodded as I made my way to the toilet where I saw quite a sight.
I opened the door to find a girl giving someone who I recognized as the new guy a blowjob in the girl's bathroom.
"Oh my gosh!" I yelled, horrified at the sight in front of me.
Neither behaved as though they saw me and continued until the guy released all over her face.
I watched as she smiled and licked her lips before washing her face clean with water.
"Later baby." The girl said blowing him a kiss before leaving.
I watched the whole scene with my jaw down before eventually bringing my eyes back to him who was leaning against the wall with a satisfied smirk on his face.
"Oh my God!" I yelled staring at him. "What the heck was that?"
Instead of replying, he scowled at me and asked "Don't you have any manners at all?"
"Excuse me!?"
"You heard me, didn't you parents teach you any manners? If you wanted in, you could have just indicated."
"First of all, gross. Secondly, what the heck are you saying? I wasn't the one getting a "blowjob" in the girl's bathroom!"
"And? If you felt offended, you could have just left. Instead you stayed and watched."
"Only because I was too shocked to move, asshat!"
"Mm-hmm. Whatever you say, girlie... Also, feel free to tell me if you want to hook up. You look like you need it." He winked and walked out of the bathroom.
"Okay... What the heck was that?" I asked myself as I stared at the door, unable to get the image of what I'd witnessed out of my head.
Gross! Just plain gross!
***
"Um excuse me. But you're on my seat." I said gently tapping on his shoulder.
He looked up and groaned "Oh it's you."
"Whatever dickface. You're on my seat."
"I didn't see anyone here so no."
"This is my seat. I sit here every time in this class."
" That doesn't make it yours now, does it?"
I sighed. "I'm really not in the mood for all this, um..."
"Blake."
"Yeah Blake so could you please get up and find another seat?"
"NO! You find another seat. I'm sitting right here and there's nothing you can do to change that...unless you would like to sit on my lap."
"Eww! No." I replied, shivering at the thought.
"Miss Myers, could you please take your seat? Class is about to start." The teacher said, alerting me to her presence.
Blake snickered and I fought the urge to hit him as I took a seat a few chairs away from him.
"Prick!" I thought as I glared daggers at the back of his head for the remainder of the class.
***
"So...I heard that you and Blake had a little showdown in History class?" Olivia remarked as we grabbed our trays and joined the lunch line.
"Blake? Oh you mean that new guy?"
"Yeah. Him. So...what happened?"
"Ugh! He's so annoying and incredibly full of himself."
"Oh really? Are you sure you don't like him?"
"Eww! Gross no! Of course not! I don't even see what's so special about him."
"Uh...he's cute and crazy hot."
"He's not that hot!"
"Oh well! If you say so. Still, I won't be surprised if you're with him by graduation."
"Now that will never happen." I replied as we made our way to our table.
We continued talking and laughing as we made our way to our table only to get closer and find that it was already being occupied.
"What's going on here?" I asked as Olivia and I came to view the occupants and unfortunately for me, Blake was there.
"Oh my gosh! Not you again. What are you doing here!?" I asked glaring at him.
"Well I got my lunch and I found an empty table which I am now occupying with these very lovely girls." He said gesturing towards the girls seated around him who giggled at his words.
"Who's your friend if I may ask?" He asked, gesturing towards Olivia who giggled and waved.
I rolled my eyes and said "Well can you and your fan group move? We were planning to sit here."
"I don't see why I should move? You met us here so you either sit or leave?"
"Maybe we should leave, Ry. No need to make a scene." Olivia said tugging on my sleeve.
"I am not leaving. We always sit here. H can't just move in and steal our spot."
"It's a public cafeteria and anyone can sit anywhere so you can either join us or leave."
By now, everyone's eyes were on us and I could feel the rage in me rising as I fought to keep from slapping that stupid smirk off his face. I took a deep breath and said "Let's go, Liv."
As we walked away, amidst the giggles and murmuring, I heard Blake mutter something that sounded like "Stuck up snobby bitch!"
Once hearing that, I stopped and dropped my tray on the table in front of me and picked up the bowl of soup on my tray. With it in my hand, I walked back to Blake and emptied the bowl of soup on his head to the very last drop.
"What the heck was that for?" He yelled at me.
"Simple! You called me a bitch so I behaved like one."
And with that, I turned around and walked back to my seat.
"Really Ry?" Olivia asked, staring at me.
"Yup." I answered, popping the 'p' at the end.
***
"Mom! Dad! I'm home." I announced as I walked into the house. I looked around and found my mom in the kitchen.
"Hey Mom. Whatcha cooking?" I asked after pecking her on the cheek.
"Well I invited our neighbors over for dinner."
"Oh okay. I'll be in my room then."
"Oh no! You don't. Go wash up. They'll be here soon and you'll be joining us."
"But Mom..." I whined but one look from her made me change my mind.
"Okay Mom." I answered instead as I made my way to my room.
I took a shower and wore a comfortable dress before making my way downstairs just as the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it." I yelled as I made my way to the door.
"Welcome, Mr and Mrs... Wait! What are you doing here!?" I yelled as I came face to face with a very familiar face...

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
