Chapter 1 His Enigmatic Gaze

Olivia's POV

I fixed my eyes on the man I was going to marry tonight, and as soon as I met his enigmatic and soulless gaze, I found myself suddenly unable to breathe normally. I was so anxious right now. I inhaled softly and tried to quiet down, but I couldn't even bring my knees together because they were trembling so much. I feel like I'm going to pass away tonight.

The man in a white suit walked towards me, and my eyes sparked when I finally had the moment to be alone with him. My heart beat so fast that I couldn't contain my excitement after seeing my crush for the first time. I've always seen him on the television, and in magazines, and now he's really standing right in front of me!

He said, "Olivia, right?"

I nodded and shyly extended my hand for a handshake, but he ignored my hand and he just distanced himself with a dark expression. I stopped smiling when I realized he hated me from the moment he first saw me.

He whispered clearly in his husky voice, "If this is not about the company and my dying father, I won't settle for a marriage like this."

I scowled at him and clenched my teeth in anger. I thought he might be a gentleman, but he's too honest. So I put my head up and smiled at him. "Don't worry, you're not my kind of person. I won't care about you or your life, even if we get married tonight. Nothing will change in our lives."

He glanced at me, and his gorgeous lips suddenly curled up for a smile, "Indeed."

I gave him a dirty look and rolled my eyes. Who does he think he is, anyway? Then he called my name again, and I turned to look at his hand, which was reaching out to take mine because the ceremony was about to start. I gave him a puzzled look and walked past him. He insulted me before, so why is he acting like nothing happened in the last few minutes?

I won't ever take his hand, even if he looks like a Greek god.

Walking down the aisle, I saw him waiting for me at the altar. Everyone stared at me because I wore a white wedding dress and looked like a princess. I'm holding my mom and dad's hands as they walk me to the aisle, and I'm crying not because I'm happy but because I'm scared of what's coming next in my life. Living in the same house as this man must be a living misery for anyone.

Then, all of a sudden, when I got to the altar, my parents left me for this man. When I looked over at Matthew, who was looking at me, he sighed. We both looked at each other for a long time after he touched my hand.

We both exchanging fake vows, and everyone clapped their hands as the priest said, "You may now kiss the bride,"

He leaned in close and caressed the side of my face, then whispered, "Can I kiss you?"

I didn't know what to say because I was too scared to feel his lips on mine, so I just closed my eyes. Suddenly, his lips brushed against mine, and it was a tender, soft, and quick kiss. Then, when I heard everyone clapping their hands, I opened my eyes again, and Matthew was staring at my wet lips.

People were happy that night, but they had no idea...I know nothing at all about the guy I married.

*************

At 11 PM at Paradise Hotel, we arrived there like we were not a couple because I was walking in the hallway all by myself because I felt awkward to be with him. He was not speaking to me, and I don't like it. I felt like a statue waiting for someone to talk to me.

The staff hotel opened the door for me, and I got the key card, and closed the door.

"Oh, shit. I can't unzip this fucking gown!" I yelled in frustration.

"You need help?"

I jumped in my feet as I heard his voice, and I didn't know that he was already inside the room before I came in. I turned around to look at him in a puzzled look, "I thought we need to live like normal people. You should not be in my room."

He stood up, and put his hand in his pocket. He unzipped my clothes so easily, making me tremble in shock. I stepped backward, and said, "D-Don't come near me."

"Olivia, I can't look for a room right now. They will be confused if the groom didn't sleep with his bride tonight. I mean, husband and wife should have the same bed."

I nodded my head, and sighed, "Oh, right. We are both strangers to each other, so it's better you're not going to sleep with me tonight because that's really awkward and not acceptable for me."

He laughed, "You're so pious, aren't you? You preserved your virginity until you found the love of your life. But too late, you are married to me now."

"If I said no, no." I sighed as I put my hand on his chest stopping him from getting too close to me.

He laughed at me, making me feel so insulted. "It's alright. I can get any woman I want, you can stay a virgin wife as long as you can."

I ignored him, and I tried to look for my clothes inside my black suitcase, and he continued saying, "You know sex is good. Do you want to try?"

I pursed my lips, and glared at him. "I-I don't want to."

I bit my lower lip when I realized that all of my clothes were lingerie for a honeymoon, and he was actually looking at it. I mumbled softly, "Why did they pack such a thing like this?"

Matthew's lips turned up, and he said, "Oh," making an O with his mouth, and rolled down on the bed like he owned it.

I sighed nervously, "What should I do now?"
