Revenge is best served after rebirth

Far away from the shore, a private luxury cruise ship was moving slowly across the sea which was roaring like a tiger, churning at every turn, just like Emily Rose's emotions.

She was clad in her usual black ripped jeans, red shirt, black leather jacket and high black boots. She wore her hair in a tall ponytail making her brunette locks fall gracefully till her waist. Even battered she looked like a lioness ready to attack.

She stood at the very edge of the cruise ship, not by choice, but due to deception. One misstep and she would plunge into her death, something she was sure after the day's events was what her so called fiancé and step sister wanted. She was an experienced spy and killer but today she was deceived and now due to her stupidity she had been shot on her right shoulder and thigh.

She didn't let the struggle to remain standing calmly show on her face to the two demons in front of her. She wouldnt have struggled so much if it had not been for her fiancé. He had called her on the ship to "celebrate" their one year of engagement. He had then drugged her drink which made her exceptionally weak. She had always been careful and neverlet her gaurd down, buttodqy for some unearthly reason, she had let her gaurd down and was now suffering the consequences.

Behind the man and the woman were a whole cavalry of bodyguards as she knew that the two of them alone would not take a chance at her even when she was drugged and inquired. Her step sister was wearing a sparkling white strapless dress which fell to her knees and her blonde hair was done up in a messy bun. With the heavy makeup covering her face, she looked like a seductress. Her eyes dancing with joy at Emily's state.

While her fiancé, was wearing his famous blue suit, looking extraordinarily handsome. He too wore an expression of utmost joy. The two stood in an embrace trying to get a reaction out of Emily, with one arm pointing a gun towards her. He was ready to shoot her again.

Emily mustered her courage to sound unaffected by the blood loss and asked " Why?" She was angry about this betrayal, but she did not let it affect her or she would not be able to hold herself anymore.

"Interesting, you still want to know why...and here I thought that you were the world's greatest spy." Her step sister Arabella Rose said with a sneer. She continued to say, " Well since you asked, let me tell you, I am the one Jared loves. Since the very beginning. You have been a mere tool to accomplish the merger with father's company."

"You," Emily growled. The sound of her anger was enough to shake both Arabella and Jared, but they didn't let it show on their faces.

Twenty five years ago when Emily's mother was pregnant with her, her father had cheated on her mother with a mistress who was non other than Arabella's mom. Her father kicked her mother out before Emily was even born. Two years later, Arabella was born and she along wither mother made sure that they were in control of the entire Rose family business and estate.

Then ten years ago, her father kidnapped her mother and beat her into coma, so that he would be able to control Emily. For her mothers sake, Emily agreed to all the vigorous training to become a spy and a killer. Since then she has been a puppet for the Rose family. She was reluctant to do a lot of things, but then her mother was under her father and she would do anything for her mother. She felt extremely stupid as she thought that by doing what her father wanted, she would earn his approval.

To further antagonise Emily, Arabella said, " Father sent a lot of men to pursue you for the business, but you ended up choosing my man and rejected all others. But now, Jared's mind, body and soul belong to me completely."

"Absolutely baby. I promise to never leave you again", replied Jared. Then he turned towards Emily and said, " Now, let's get this over with. I am done waiting. For the sake of our fake relationship, I give you two choices, either jump off this ship by yourself or my men will enjoy you and then throw you into the sea."

"You", Emily's expression changed upon hearing this. She didn't want to be humiliated even at the brink of her death. She turned around to jump, but before jumping she said in a cold voice, "if thyGod gives me a chance to be alive, I will make sure to ruin you both." Saying that she jumped.

Cold sweat broke on the faces of the two betrayers. Her words sound like a curse to them as if they were about to come true. At that moment, Emily was drowning deeper into the sea. Before she lost her consciousness she heard "Revenge system activated. Awaiting synchronisation.Synchronisation loading .... 5% .... 20% ..... 45% .... 55% .... 80% .... 100%. Synchronised to host" And with that Emily let the darkness overtake her.
