Nancy's POV
' Nancy!'
' Nancy!'
' Nancy!'
' Nancy!'
I heard my aunty's inaudible voice calling me, it sounded like it was coming from far away.
Then I felt a light tap on my shoulder, I furrowed my brows, it felt like it was real.
' Nancy, wake up already ' I heard her voice again, this time more clear and audible.
Okay... It's definitely real. I slowly opened my eyes, but I had to close it back, because of the bright rays of the sun, coming in through my room window.
' I thought you were never going to wake up ' My aunty teased.
' Good morning, aunt ' I mumbled as I covered my face with my arm.
' Good morning ' She replied as she stood to leave.
' But just so you know...' I heard her say again.
' It's eight thirty already ' She said.
' What?!' I yelled as I sprang up from my bed.
I quickly took my gaze to the wall clock in my room, my eyes went wide in shock, cause she was right!
' Oh my God! Why didn't you wake me? I whined as I dashed into my bathroom.
' Says the person who I've been taping to wake up since ages ' I heard her say from inside the bathroom.
God! I'm so dead... I thought as I quickly brushed my teeth. What am I gonna do now, I have a job interview by nine, this morning. I'm expected to be at the company before nine.
I'd really hate myself if I screwed this up, cause it took me everything to get this job offer.
When I was done brushing my teeth, I washed my face and dashed out of the bathroom.
Even the universe won't get mad at me, if I don't take my bath. I dried my face and applied my face lotion and body lotion. Then I quickly went to my wardrobe to find something corporate to wear.
I finally settled for a black pencil skirt, which stopped just below my kneel and a grey button up shirt. I packed my hair into a ponytail and of course, I didn't forget to spray my perfume and wore my wrist watch
I took the necessary files I needed and my black hand bag and shoe. I hurried out of my room.
' Oh Shit!' I cursed as I remembered something.
I ran back to the room and grabbed my phone which was on the nightstand beside my bed.
' God help me ' I muttered as I ran out again.
I ran downstairs and headed to the main door.
' Ain't you gonna eat breakfast?' I heard my aunt say from the dinning room.
' I would be mad to ' I yelled as I opened the door.
I ran out of the house and just like the heavens were on my side, I saw a taxi driving down to my side.
I stretched my hand for it to stop and it did. I quickly entered without even telling the cab man where I was going.
When I saw that he wasn't moving, I raised my brows at him through the rear mirror.
' You haven't told me where you're going ' He said.
' Oh...' I mouthed.
I told him where I was going and he drove off.
I checked the time on my wristwatch and it was eight fifty already. I bit my lip as I tapped my index finger on my thigh.
' Mister, can you please drive faster ' I said impatiently.
' You don't expect me to fly, do you?' He said almost immediately.
I was taken aback at his guts, I opened my mouth to give him a piece of me. But I decided against it, so I clamped my lips together. Truth be told, it is against the law in America to over speed. But still, he shouldn't speak to me in that manner.
I clenched my teeth as I tried hard not to lash him with my tongue. I don't want to start the day, picking a fight.
After what felt like forever, he finally got to my destination. I paid the cab man and got out of the taxi. I ran towards the company entrance, just as I was about entering. I was stopped by a man, which seems to be a security.
' What do you want?' He asked.
' Um... I'm here for an interview ' I said quickly.
He furrowed his brows and looked at his wristwatch.
' I know i'm late, but I really need to go in ' I begged before he could even say a thing.
He gave me a long look, then finally said
' Go in '
' Thank you, so much ' I said, heaving a sigh of relief and hurried inside.
I went towards the receptionist.
' Good morning, ma'am ' I greeted with the warmest smile I possessed.
' Good morning, miss... How may I help you?' She asked.
' I'm here for the interview ' I said.
' Oh! That?' She asked giving me a wry look.
' Yes... Yes '
' All the applicants have been called in already' She said.
' So can I go in and join them?' I asked.
' I'm sorry, but it's against our ethics... You were expected to be here before nine ' She said.
' I know but...' I began to say but was interrupted by someone.
' What's going on here?' I heard a deep husky voice behind me.
I turned and my eyes fell on the most beautiful thing on earth.
God damn gorgeous!
