The sun was already up. It was Monday morning and everyone was busy with their daily activities. The workers went to work, the restaurants were opening. The street became a little bit busy because of the people going to work.
Rachael stood at the balcony in her apartment, drinking a hot coffee. Her purple robe sprawled on the ground as she stood there, staring at the street. Her phone beeped from the nightstand. Looking at the screen, she saw that it was a reminder to go get ready for her first interview.
She graduated from college as a professional IT. Rachael's wish was to start working in a big company and be independent. She lived alone, so she wasn't bothered about any other thing. She didn't have any other friend apart from Linda, her best friend.
Rachael went into the bathroom and freshened up, after which she came back to the room and changed into a black body-hugged skirt, and a white wrap top. She packed her hair in a tight neat bun, before putting on her black velvet heels.
She carried her bags and headed out of her apartment. After the elevator opened, she got in with Lady Kate and her cat. When it reached the ground floor, she took a taxi and it drove her to her dream company. She has always wished to work there.
She went straight to the receptionist, smiling broadly. "Hello, I'm Miss Rachael Maurice. I'm here for an interview." She told the slim receptionist, giving her an envelope. The receptionist saw through it, before looking back at her.
"Ok Miss, can you please wait by my right, we will soon get back to you." The receptionist told her, as she picked up the telephone to make a phone call. After the call, she directed Rachael to the managers office. As Rachael went there, she became nervous. This was her first interview after leaving college and she was scared of not being accepted.
As she was still thinking, she came in front of a door that was obviously the Managers office, because of the tag on the door. She arranged herself well and cleared her throat before entering inside the office.
As she entered the room, she trembled at the amount of people there. They were about 5 of them. "Good morning sirs." Rachael said, trying to make her voice not sound shaky. She hoped that they didn't hear the nervousness in her voice.
"Yeah, thank you Miss Rachael, you can a have a seat." One of the managers told her. Rachael smiled as she took a seat out and sat down, in a professional way. After sometime, everywhere became as quiet as a graveyard. "So, Miss Rachael, what are you here for?" The man asked her.
"Well, I'm here for an interview to apply for the post of an IT in your respectable firm." Rachael replied, grinning widely. She maintained her professionalism and courtesy.
"What are your qualifications as an IT?" The man further asked her.
Rachael breathed heavily before answering." I'm a college degree graduate and I have a degree in computer science and other related forms of IT." Rachael spoke. The men took her files, her resume and her certificate and started looking through it.
Rachael fidgeted as she played with her hands under the table. She watched as they nodded their heads, as they were reading her documents. "You have good and impressive qualifications, we will get back to you very soon Miss Rachael, have a good day." One of the men told her.
"Thank you sirs." Rachael told them before leaving the office. As she came out, she felt her chest and found out that her chest was heaving up and down like a beating drum.
She quickly walked out of the company, so as to avoid creating unnecessary attention. She got home and changed into something comfy. After a while, she called Lisa, her best friend. Hello Lisa." She said, groaning.
"Hello dear, is anything wrong? You sound worked up." Lisa asked from the other end.
"Just came back from the interview. It was really tiring and I was mad nervous." Rachael told Lisa.
"Ok, I know what to cool you down girl, meet me at the subway in some few minutes time." Lisa said, before hanging up.
Rachael wore a blue hoodie and a black leggings, before rushing out of the house to the subway. By the time she got there, she saw Lisa pacing around. "Thought you wouldn't make it." Lisa said, as they started walking to their destination. They entered a restaurant and the handsome waiter, who was winking at Rachael took their orders. "Wow girl." Lisa exclaimed.
"What is it?" Rachael asked her, with a confused grin.
"Every guy is always attracted to you and they are always handsome and attractive. Mehn, you're too cute." Lisa told her. Rachael's cheeks grew crimson red as she hit Lisa's hand.
"Stop it Lisa, I'm not their type though." Rachael said, still blushing.
"Well, you better rethink well." Lisa told her before they started eating. By the time they were done, Rachael realized that it was her sleeping hour and she felt drowsy. Lisa took her home, before going to hers.

It's been 3 long weeks since Rachael went for the interview. She had already lost hope about getting the job from her dream company. She sat on the sofa in her furnished living room, pondering on how she would go about looking for a job.
She was still thinking when her phone beeped with a message. She sluggishly went to see what it was. As she read it, she yelped in happiness as she saw that the company she was thinking about, accepted her, and told her to begin work in earnest. She jumped around and sang happily.
She quickly picked up her phone and dialed Lisa's number and told her everything. They both decided to hang out later in the day. Lisa was also happy for her. Rachael was so happy that what she wished and prayed for came true for her.
That night, Rachael and Lisa had so much fun. They went to have ice cream and also watched a movie. It was past 10 and Rachael decided to go home, so she could prepare for work early tomorrow. They wished each other good night before parting ways.
