Lester P.O.V.
"Okky, its final that you can stay but you're not officially a part of this pack again. You're with us, meaning you protect us and we'll protect you, got it?" I looked over at the guy with brown hair that had authority radiating off of him in crashing waves but less then his Alpha who was sitting behind the desk.
If it wasn't for this man I would probably be sent right back to where I came from.
Looking back at the Alpha, I nodded and mumbled "Yes Alpha."
"Just because your family is here doesn't mean you're one of us. You have to earn this packs trust first, got it?"
"Yes Alpha."
He smiled first at me then at the brown haired guy that was clearly his Beta. "You're dismissed," he announced before pointing to the door. Such a nice guy right? Not! I can't stand him. If it were up to me I wouldn't even be here. They're lucky to have me here if anything.
I left the room with the brown haired guy following behind me. He had dark blue eyes and caramel colored skin that was a few shades lighter than mine. Walking down the hall and into the living room the man kept on following me. Can you say stalker much?
I was just going to ignore him until he finally said something as soon as I got to my car. "If it weren't for me, right now you would be three states over."
I looked at him for the first time and smiled "Are you asking me to thank you?" What a baby.
"No I don't need a thanks, what I need is you." I looked at him funny. What the hell would he possibly need me for?
"For What?"
"I need you to help my daughter," I starred at him expecting to hear more but he didn't say anything other than that. If I'm going to help his daughter I need more information than that.
"What could I help her with?"
"Training"
Again this guy needs to give me more details than that. "Training for what a 'Spelling B' or a---------"
"Don't worry about that part just yet" he said pulling out a folded piece of paper from his pocket. I guess he must have thought this through already. "Just be at that address tomorrow morning at eight. Bring some sweatpants." he informed me and with that said, he turned around and simply continued on going back into the pack house.
I shoved the piece of paper in my pocket without even looking at the address. I know that I've been away from this place for a while but I didn't even know who his daughter is, shoot I didn't even know his name, then again I was never good with remembering names. What I do know though is that he has a mate and he has kids but I probably only saw them a couple of times before I left.
"I hope she's not a brat" I mumbled under my breath before speeding away from the pack house.
Nancy P.O.V.
"Hahahaha," I couldn't stop myself from laughing. It's hilarious watching my brother get ready for school and my sister get ready for work while I get to stay home and do whatever I want all day long. Oh the joy of suspension never fails to disappoint me.
"You shouldn't be laughing Nan" Lewis said smiling at me. "You'll get to stay home all day and do house work with mom." I choked on my cereal and spit it out all over the counter.
"That's hilarious Lewis, me do house work...funny!"
"We'll see about that" my mom laughed as she strolled into the kitchen in her robe and a cup of coffee in her hand. "You might not be cleaning but you are going to do something besides sleeping all day" she told me after taking a sip of her coffee.
'We'll see about that mother, we'll see'. I thought in my head evilly. Once I'm finished eatting my giant bowl of cereal it's lights out for me.
"What's so funny?" Coral asked looking at the hidden smile on my face.
"Nothing at all."
I finished my cereal and then went straight upstairs. "Hi daddy" I said to my dad as he lazily walked down the hallway with his eyes half closed.
"Hey sweetheart" he said passing by and going into the bathroom. Clearly he's not a morning person, actually as far as I could remember he never was a morning person.
Making it the rest of the way down the hall to my room I shut the door and cuddled up in my still warm bed. It wasn't long before I fell asleep----and it wasn't long before I was awoken by a completely rude, hot guy either.
I screamed as water dripped down my face and onto my PJ's. Who in their right mind would do something like throwing a bucket of water on someone instead of waking them up like a normal human being! Maybe I'm not a normal human being but I would prefer being woken up with a gentle tap on the shoulder any day.
Once I was done screaming I hopped off my bed trying to save my still dry pillows. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I yelled at him. The idiot didn't answer me, all he could do was stare at me with a smirk on his face. He had dark brown curly hair and cute dark blue eyes. "Who are you?" I yelled at him again.
"My name is Lester and I'm here because of you" he said. He put the empty bucket on the floor and roughly pushed me towards the door. "Come on Nancy go get ready."
"Get ready for what?"
He didn't answer me instead as if to answer my question he slammed my room door in my face and locked it. I was fuming with anger! Who the hell was he, and why did he wake me up at ten in the morning on my day off!
"Daddy" I yelled loudly.
I ran to my parents' room but he wasn't in there. I looked all around the house until I found my parents sitting on the living room couch watching TV. "I'm going to guess that you met Lester already" dad said with a small smile on his face.
"Daddy he threw water in my face while I was sleeping and kicked me out my room," I whined stomping my feet. "Make him go away!" Yes, I am daddy's little girl, always was and always will be.
"Nan, Lester isn't going away anytime soon he's here to help you" Mom said getting up and walking into the kitchen.
"Here to help me with what?" I'm so lost right now. Dad looked at me with hope filled eyes pleading for me to understand.
"Lester is here to help you with your------health issues" he said slowly.
Oh, now I'm hurt. "I don't have any health issues" I whined. "So what if I'm a little bigger than other girls, it's not a health issue!"
"But it will become one if you don't get into shape" dad snapped back. I couldn't help but to feel sad, my own family is just like everyone else at school. They think I'm fat!
"Nancy!" my dad yelled after me but I was already gone and up the stairs. Going into the bathroom I stripped off my close and cried under the shower head. I've never saw the day when my own family would judge me because of my weight. That was just harsh and it felt like knifes continuously being stabbed into my heart.
I took my sweet time taking my shower and when I was done it was noon exactly. Walking into my room I changed into some sweatpants and my favorite blue hoodie that had a picture on Mickey Mouse winking at you on the back.
I went over to the mirror and tied my damped brown hair in a ponytail. I smiled at my reflection. The only thing that matters is if I'm happy with myself and I am. I love all my extra weight because that's what makes me who I am, but the true is that I would like to lose some of it because I'm tired of being the big girl that everyone loves to make fun of. That's one thing I'll never admit to anyone.
Taking my phone off my dresser I put it in my pocket and hoped that Trisha is at least soaking up more fun out of this suspension then I am.
"Where are we going?" I asked as soon as I got in the living room I ignored the stares that my mother and father we're giving me. Those traitors, they went as far as to get me a personal trainer behind my back.
"It's about time" he mumbled under his breath but you could tell he said it loud enough so that I could hear him on purpose. "I'll see you later Mr. and Mrs. Adas" he said politely before walking past me and bumping into to my shoulder hard. What a jerk!
I looked at my parents and they only gave me small smiles before saying. "Have fun Nan" and "See you later hun". They clearly saw what he just did and acted like it didn't happen. I've only known the guy for an hour and I'm already guessing I'm on his bad side.
I walked out the door and followed Lester to a black BMW. Ok, I knew him for an hour and I already know that he's rich, I'm on his bad side and he's a jerk---oh, yeah and he's cute. I can't forget about that.
"Nancy" Someone yelled I snapped out of it and looked around. "Get in the car" Lester said. He was already in the car and the engine was on. I guess I've been day dreaming again. I don't know I do it a lot---it's a 16 year old habit that I've never broken.
I reached for the door handle but before I could open it, it was pulled out of my grasp. I reached for it again and this time the car moved up a foot before stopping. I glared at Lester but he wasn't even looking at me. He was looking straight ahead with that stupid smirk on his face.
I reached for the handle this time but quicker and just as I opened the door an inch the car violently speed off and stopped in front of the neighboring house.
"Seriously," I yelled storming over to the car and opening the door but before I could get in Lester started driving down the street and stopped at the end of the block. "I know there is no way out of this training thing but god, why couldn't you have gave me a nicer trainer," I spoke out loud before jogging to the car.
Lester's little game continued all the way until we got to the parking lot of Wal-Mart. I was covered in my own sweat and I was ready to collapse. I smiled at my opportunity as Lester stopped the car. I knew he was waiting for me to run to the car just so that he could drive away before I could get in but I think I could actually trick him this time.
Running with everything I had in me, I charged towards the car and opened the door. I didn't give Lester a chance to move the car before I sat in the passenger's seat with a victorious grin on my face.
Finally!
I did it.
I smiled to myself. Just as fast as the grin was on my face it slipped away quick.
The car engine die and a car door opened and then closed, "You did a good job at playing caught the goose with my car. But I think it's time for us to start your training" he said. I could feel my blood running hot.
"You. Can. Not. Be. Kidding. Me!" I screamed.
Lester shook his head "No, I'm not---get out the car Nancy and maybe you can make this go a little faster" Lester said opening my car door. I puffed out a breath of air and got out the car cursing under my breath. "So the beta's daughter has a dirty mouth, huh?" Lester asked and I just glared at him. He wasn't fazed by my glares like everyone else was; it was like he was use to being glared at by people.
Gladly he didn't say anything else to me as we went into the Wal-Mart. I'm so happy stores like these have AC's because I'm sweating bullets after that long run all the way here, plus the walk from the parking space to come inside. I'm beat.
Lester grabbed an empty cart and started pushing as we became surrounded by food on shelves and in freezers. "So who is this Brianna chick that I keep hearing about?" he asked. I almost literally gagged at the name. I hate that girl so much; with all honestly I did not regret pulling out her blonde extensions yesterday before we got suspended from school.
"A girl" I sneered.
He nodded and I couldn't help but see how his blue eyes shimmered in the light. "From the way you say her name it sounds like you're not her biggest fan." Is this guy serious?
"I'm not a fan of wanna be Barbie's and Bimbo's that think they're pretty."
"Do you think you're pretty?" I frozen but he wasn't looking at me because he was too busy throwing all different types of veggies in the cart. When I didn't answer him he turned and looked at me with a hard look "I asked you, do you think you're pretty?" he repeated himself.
"Y-Yes," I said proudly and he nodded his head.
"Nancy I'm going to tell you one thing about me and this is important to remember."
"And what is that?" I asked happy that we got off that topic. He turned to me with a hard expression and you could tell her was mad.
"I don't like liars. I hate hearing lies and I hate people who think I'm going to believe their lies," his tone was cold and harsh, it was like we were alone in this huge store and I was stuck with a killer. "Don't. Lie. To. Me." he said lowering his voice so that I could only hear him. His eyes were filled with seriousness and for some reason it couldn't breathe right.
"Are we clear?" he asked and I nodded quickly. "Good" he said before pushing the cart away and leaving me behind stunned and in shock. I tried evening out my breaths to calm my racing heartbeat back down to normal.
"I think you hate me God." I whispered before following after him in silence.
Florence Kaufman was the unpopular illegitimate kid of the Kaufman family. Except for being good at drawing, Florence only had a nice appearance. Allen Atherstone was the third kid of the Atherstone family. He was an eligible bachelor that every woman admired in Boston. When Florence and Allen first met, Florence fell in love with Allen. But Allen found her unreasonable, troublesome, and noisy. Until the spectacular wedding, covered with blood, Florence jumped into the sea from the cruise ship. Allen was heartbroken for the first time. Five years later, there was a rumor in Boston that Allen had gone crazy. It was said that he was shamelessly chasing after his wife. Florence said, "If you wear a hair tie on your wrist, other women will know that you're married." Allen replied, "No, men never wear that." Florence asked, "Do you want a tie with the decoration of a rabbit or a pink bow?" "A rabbit," Allen said.
Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.

Abandoned as a child and orphaned by murder, Kathryn swore she'd reclaim every shred of her stolen birthright. She doubled as a legendary healer, an elusive hacker, and the royal court's favorite perfumer. At meetings, the directors groaned at the lovey-dovey couple, "Does she really have to be here?"
