"I was always sincere with you, Why did you betray me this way? How can you accuse me of such despicable things?" Karlie questioned, her eyes fighting back hot tears but the man she was talking to wasn't paying attention. "Let's not see each other again." °°°°°° Karlie met Cillian in the most unconventional way, she thought it was love, but was it the same for him? Can a relationship built online stand the test of time?
Chapter 1
Karlie's POV:
"Girl, you can't be serious," Bianca said in between laughter, her eyes following my every move. She has always been a bit snarky about him."You're going to meet a man you don't know?"
I rolled my eyes and stared straight into her eyes. "I know him," I said for the tenth time. She made a gag sound and shook her head.
"You know him online, you don't even know his real name or face; you're going to meet a ghost." Bianca had a problem, but I didn't care to cure whatever it was, I sprayed the Oniro perfume that I got two days earlier on every part of my body and grinned widely at my reflection in the mirror.
My heart burned as I thought about what our first meeting would be like, Though he said, "no seeing his face," I still wished.
I grabbed my almost worn-out Louis Vuitton bag from the shelf and took a deep breath.
"I'll be back soon," I told Bianca before making my way to the door.
"Oh, I doubt it." She snorted. On getting to the hotel, I was expecting a big place with multicolor lightbulbs, but instead, I was met with a small motel. I checked the address he sent me again, and then at the name written on the motel, I smiled. He must be a very reserved person, I thought to myself.
I finally lodged in, and I sat down on the bed, inside the red room, waiting patiently for him to come to me. Time kept flying, and he was nowhere to be found. Forty minutes later, the door slowly creaked open, and a manly figure walked in.
"You're here," a deep ocean-like voice said rhetorically, and my heart flipped. He's here, I kept saying to myself. After months of staying anonymous, he finally agreed to meet, even though with conditions. I still see it as something worthy.
I nodded my head in the dark as if he'd seen me before, finally finding my temporarily lost voice. "I am here." He must have specifically requested the room because the color made me not see his face, but I could see his body.
"I can't believe we're meeting like this," I said softly, laughing. Even my laughter sounded awkward.
"It is what it is, sweetheart." He answered, and the tone, the voice, and the name he called me made my heart fidget.
I was losing it, and I knew. We stayed in awkward silence for a few more minutes, then his hand went to the side of the wall, and he turned off the lights.
"Why?" I inquired.
"Flashy," he responded in a single word.
Calm down, girl. What is wrong with you? I thought to myself and giggled. I was losing it for a man that I barely knew.
The room was dark, and I suddenly felt a figure standing in front of me. "You know, I never once thought that I'd be in this situation."
He uttered and chuckled; the sound of his small laughter vibrated the room. "What situation?" I inquired cluelessly and slapped a hand on my mouth.
I didn't even drink anything, and I was getting excited about everything. The thought of what could be, the dangerous decision that I made, and what it could lead to-the adrenaline was just too much, and I felt myself getting hotter with each passing second.
"So, I see that you're not that much of a talker, just like you said in the text." He picked me out, and I nodded my head.
"And I also see that you're in your late 20s, just like you made it known," He sat down beside me and placed his hand on my shoulder, followed by a light squeeze, then said, "And how did you know that? You can't even see me." He whispered into my ear, and I started hiccuping. Oh damn, I'm thoroughly fucked.
" I... I...." I wasn't able to make up a coherent response. I was too embarrassed.
"You... You... What?" He mimicked, his thumb drawing circles on my shoulder, sending zaps all over my body.
You must be very starved, Karlie. How can you be in the mood for just anyone? I said to myself. But he wasn't just anyone, he was a man that never failed to make me smile for the past five months.
I bite on my lower lip and manage to sneeze the word out of my mouth. "Your physique, it tells a lot," I said.
"Do you want to touch it?" His voice dropped of honey. He was flirting with me, I could tell. But that was the least important thing, or so I thought.
"You smell nice." He mumbled and kissed my shoulder, the same place where his hand was.
"Diego, you were 40 minutes late, you once told me that you love timely vibes." I accused and rolled my eyes.
He laid back on the bed and hummed. "I did say that, but I never said that I am a timely person."
He had a point, but still...
I giggled and turned to take a look at him, "it is nice to meet up with you today," I mumbled in a non-existent voice.
I could feel it. The over-to-the-heels attraction. It has always been there, and it felt even more so in there.
"Who said anything about being nice here? I still want to see you dance, you said it's your hobby." Diego calmly said, "Dance for me."
I couldn't believe that he remembered that. I wasn't a good dancer, I was very bad, it still baffles me why I said I could dance when we were just talking.
Was I trying to get in his good grace? That's a crazy thing to think about.
I slowly got up from the bed, praying internally that I would not embarrass myself and chase him away since I tended to do that with any guy I got interested in.
"Would you play something?" I asked but he was silent, I figured that he didn't want the phone screen light to shine on his face.
"How is school going? How was the day? "He suddenly asked, he sounded very interested so I went back and sat on the bed then huffed.
"That school is killing me, I had 3 hours of class in one sitting earlier today, and coupled with that, I was very hungry." I narrated awfully.
"What course are you studying again, I think you mentioned something in line with business." He stated and I nodded my head enthusiastically.
"I'm studying business administration, I'd like to be a business administrator, administering everything needed to businesses," I responded and chuckled softly. A soft yelp fell from my lips when a hand dragged me down and I fell on top of him. We were staring at each other but not seeing each other.
"Instead of administering businesses, why don't you start with my body?" He questioned hoarsely, I slowly raised my eyebrows, my eyes fixated on what could be his face.
I never wished to see his face as much as I wished to at that moment.
So many what-ifs running through my head.
What if he's ugly?
What if he's a very old man?
I had so many questions that can barely be answered.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked. I wasn't a baby, I knew what he meant, I was only buying more time for myself.
"I want to sleep with you,"
"What I want to do to you," He murmured as he buried his face on my hair, "I want to bend you over this counter and fuck you to oblivion." My heart leaped and my face flush. I couldn't let him get to me, I kept promising myself that. But when the stupid bond keep getting stronger and I couldn't resist his seduction, it was only a matter of time for me to give in to Kian Santos. ***** She was the good girl. Elodie took a deep breath and knocked, the sound echoing in the quiet corridor. A moment of silence passed, broken only by the pounding of her heart. Finally, the door snicked open, revealing a surprised Dashiell. 'Can't you see the Do Not Disturb sign? We don't want-' His initial frown quickly morphed into confusion at the sight of his wife. 'What are you doing here?' he demanded. 'Your girlfriend invited me,' Elodie replied, her voice laced with icy calm. She tried to peer past him, but his broad frame blocked the view. A saccharine voice chimed in from within the room. 'Elodie? Oh dear, we didn't mean for you to find out this way. It's just that-' Elodie cut her short. 'Oh please, Selene. Spare me the fake apologies. You wouldn't have sent me all those texts if you didn't want me to know.' Dashiell shifted uncomfortably, his face a mask of annoyance. 'What texts?' Elodie stepped past him, taking in the luxurious suite with a sardonic smile. The king-sized bed, the scattered rose petals, the lingering scent of sex – it all painted a vivid picture of their betrayal. She looked up at Dashiell, her gaze unwavering.
