After a one-night stand with a demon, Joanna-Rose found out that she was going to be in an arranged marriage that might cost her life. Only to find out that she was getting to the demon himself. She was getting married to a demon she slept with once, her father's enemy. ****** "If you have an affair with someone else, I am afraid you will die." He mumbled. "All of them do, and I am just looking out for you." A pair of black wings emitted from his back, and he moved away from me. My eyes widened at the realization of what he had just said. 'I was going to die if I slept with someone other than him.' What did I just get myself into? He flew away from me, giving me one glance. He shook his head. "Since you have had sex with me, you are in danger. Don't worry, I will find a way to help you." He gave me a tiny bit of assurance before disappearing into thin air. I fucking can't believe it. I had sex with a demon, and I enjoyed it too. I was fucking doomed.

Chapter 1 A Night Of Freedom

JOANNA-ROSE

"Joanna, where the hell are you?" my sister yelled from upstairs. "You know you are not allowed to leave the house; you are grounded forever."

I frowned. It was the same girl-that witch-who had always made my life a living hell. She was my half-sister, the first daughter of my father. We shared the same father but had different mothers. I never knew who my mother was; she abandoned me when I was a baby. She worked as a maid in the Miller's mansion, had an affair with my father, and birthed me.

Afraid of being bullied by Mrs. Miller, she abandoned me for my father and went her own way. I never knew what she looked like, nor did I know what it felt like to have a mother's love. My sister always rubbed it in my face, calling me a maid just like my mother. She had made my life a living mess, alongside her mother. They both hated my mother, and finding me made their hatred shift to me.

My mother made the mistake, not me. I never asked to be born into this world. I never asked my father to cheat on his wife or have an affair with my mother, of all the maids.

It was their decision, not mine.

I was forced into this world by them. Why do I have to face the pain and get all the resentment from everyone? Although I am the second daughter of the Miller family, I have no place here. I was an outcast, only living because I wasn't dead.

One thing I know for sure is that my father was going to find a way to get rid of me. I knew what he had in mind; he was going to get me married, and I am sure he was going to get me married to someone I have never met.

I would be glad to get married off. I hated this house, and I would be so glad to get away from them.

"Aren't you hearing me?" she questioned.

I quickly hid beneath the stairs before she could see me. I had to go out today; I didn't care if she never approved of it. I needed to leave the house; I had always been indoors, and I was sick of it. I needed to go out and move around; I was no slave. My father was ashamed of me and never introduced me to anyone. I was just a mistake-a terrible mistake that should never have happened.

Sometimes I wish my mother could have gotten rid of me. I wish she never kept me; she should have taken me along with her instead of leaving me in a house like my father's.

I could hear the sound of my sister's footsteps as she descended the stairs. I pressed myself against the wall; it was dark, and I didn't see the ray of a flashlight. I sighed in relief; she wasn't holding one.

"Joanna," she called out. "Joanna-Rose."

I ignored her; she called my name a couple more times, but I just waited. My heart racing against my chest, I couldn't let her find me. If she found me, I was going to be punished. I would rather go out and be punished for it than get punished for trying to sneak out.

"Fine," she snarled. "I will let you go out, but have it in mind that you are going to be punished, and I will make sure Dad hears of it. You know what I can do, right?"

Even though the thought of her telling Dad scared me, I still refused to go out. If she found me, Dad was still going to hit me anyway. I have never seen him hit her, but he gives me bruises all the time, for the slightest reasons or for nothing at all. He believes whatever she tells him and never takes my words into consideration.

I fucking hate him.

"Go have some fun outside, and when you come back, you are going to be half dead," she chuckled as I heard her climbing up the stairs.

I could picture the evil smirk on her face. After the sound of her footsteps disappeared, I got out of my hiding spot and wound up my shiny blonde knee-length hair into a ponytail. My stepmom had always been envious of my hair, and during social gatherings, she would ask me to cover it to avoid getting the attention her daughter should be getting.

My hair looked unreal, and it usually gets a lot of attention, even though I hardly maintain it. Bolting out of the door, I hurried outside the building. I had a secret passageway that led out of the building to the streets that were always busy. Since it was almost midnight, there would be no one on the street.

I pushed the flowers that hid my secret pathway and crawled out through it. I sighed in relief as soon as I crossed to the other side. I was out of the building; I was out of the gigantic fence. I was free for probably twenty minutes.

I spent the time I had walking around the street, checking out stray animals, looking up at the sky, and doing nothing at all. The breeze felt cold against my skin. I was wearing a mini gown, and it was freezing. I needed to head back; just when I turned around to leave, a loud thud in the distance alerted me.

I spun around, fear creeping into my veins. What was that? Even though my brain screamed danger, I was tempted to take a look. I wanted to know what it was-was it a person? I couldn't tell. I made my way towards the spot where I had heard the sound.

"Hello."

"Is it anyone?"

There was no reply; I was five feet away from the spot now, and my legs wouldn't stop shaking. I stretched my neck to peek at the other side to see what was there. Taking one more step, I kicked a hard rock and lost my balance. Falling over, I fell over a hard thing, banging my head in the process.

"Ouch!" A groan escaped my lips. "What the..."

I raised my head to look at what I fell on; it was a man, and he looked unconscious. The moon was shining down at us, and I couldn't see his face properly. His eyes were closed, and he looked still. Sitting up, I placed my hand on his chest and leaned in to hear the beating of his heart.

He was still breathing.

I shook him as hard as I could; he was so drunk that he fell asleep on the floor. It was freezing outside, and judging from my hand that was on his chest, he wasn't wearing clothes; he was shirtless. He was going to freeze to death.

"Mister," I called out. "Wake up!"

I slapped him across the face, thinking pain was going to make him wake up. He didn't move at all. I glanced around the place; there was no one in sight. I couldn't leave him outside in the cold. I was still thinking of what to do when I heard a voice behind me.

"Oh, he caught the attention of a human." The voice held a hint of mockery.

The only thing that confused me was the way he called me human. Weren't they humans? I turned my head to look at the person; he was wearing a dark

coat and had a large jar in his hand.

"Why don't you step away and hand him over, Human?" he asked. "I bet you don't know who he is; you are going to get into trouble if you refuse to step out of the way."

I shook my head. There was no way this guy in front of me was a good person. Without thinking, I threw myself on the unconscious person on the ground.

"No way!" I yelled. "He is mine; I found him first."

"You don't have to act tough," he grumbled. "Hand him over; I just need to eat him, and if you get in the way, I wouldn't mind eating you too. I haven't eaten humans for a while now."

What the hell? My lips recoiled in irritation; he was going to eat the unconscious man and eat me too. What the hell was happening? I hoped I wasn't having a nightmare; I hope not; I was out of the building for real, right?

"Eat him?" I questioned. "How are you going to eat a human?"

The man chuckled. "You are the human; hand him over."

"No."

"Now!" he demanded.

"No. I disagree; you can't eat him. Find someone else to eat."

"I will eat you first, then," he replied. "That demon can't wake up unless he gets maybe a kiss to awaken his lust desires."

I glanced at him, wondering what the meaning of what he was saying was. First, he called me a human, and now he called the unconscious man a demon. What prank was he trying to pull on me? I found what he was saying hilarious, but I decided to go along with it.

"Do you mean a kiss from anyone could awaken his lustful desires?" I asked.

"Absolutely..."

I wasn't listening to what the man was saying; I couldn't give the unconscious man away like that, and I couldn't let the other man eat me. I have to wake the man up; if he wakes up, he might be able to help me.

Closing my eyes, I crashed my lips against the unconscious man's lips. I kissed him long and hard, back and forth. As soon as I deepened the kiss, my body began to heat up, and I felt a bit strange. Soon, he was kissing me back, and then his hand wrapped around my waist, and he pinned me on top of him.
