"Ahhh! No! Don't kill me! Don't..." Sweat poured and Shu trembled due to the multitude of imaginations swirling in his mind at that moment. They had just finished the betrothal wedding and were currently gathered for dinner. While eating, he couldn't help but think of various things, especially knowing that he would be joining his husband after they finished eating. "Hays, erase! Erase! What am I thinking! He probably isn't that aggressive. Besides, I'm still a minor and this is just a pre-wedding. He probably won't force me to do anything with him tonight!" With that thought, his hands shook as he clutched his dress under the table, which was noticed by the man beside him who then smirked. He flinched slightly when the man suddenly leaned in to whisper in his ear. "Relax, I'm not your groom, Miss. Your groom couldn't attend today's wedding." Confusion replaced the fear and anxiety that had enveloped her when she heard what the man, who had exchanged rings with her earlier, said. "A-aren't you Mr. Griffin?" "No, Ma'am. I'm Lieutenant Carber, the General's right-hand man. I was instructed to represent him." "W-what?!" "You heard right, Ma'am. He was busy and couldn't attend. However, he did leave instructions regarding what you should do now that the wedding is over." "Huh! I can't believe it, he really might be the demon they say he is! I was wondering why this man seems kind and doesn't look like a demon, turns out he's not really the infamous demon general who will be my husband!" she blurted out in frustration. "Did you say something?" Lieutenant Carber asked as he finished talking to other people at the table. Shu smiled falsely and shook her head at the still serious lieutenant. "Hays, if my twin wasn't sick, I wouldn't have agreed to marry that general! So mysterious, he might be ugly and old like they say, and on top of that, he's supposedly Lucifer's nephew who lost two wives already! Omg wait! What if he's the reason for their deaths like they say? Grr, scary!" She hugged herself and whispered with her eyes closed in fear. "I-if that's the case, when will I ever see and meet him. Hays, that demon General!" Background of the Story Shu had been married for four years to a man she had never seen or heard speak. She wasn't supposed to be the one to marry him, but rather the only daughter of a wealthy family where her mother worked. It's a complicated story; all she knew was that she woke up married to a man she didn't know. All she knew was that he had a high status and was a General, protector of the only child of the country's first family. From what she heard, he was cruel, strict, and had a terrifying aura. Despite the fear she felt, she still awaited the day she would finally see and meet him.
Chapter 1
"I'm not going to meet her, not today," General Griffin stated seriously to the Lieutenant.
"But it's your betrothal wedding today, General. Shouldn't you be there?"
"It doesn't matter. I was just dragged into this sh!t. You can go instead of me."
"B-But General, the First Lady has already prepared your outfit. Surely some VIPs attending the betrothal wedding will be looking for you."
"Security threats are more important than that. There's no need for this to reach the First Lady. Do your part. No information on that wedding should be leaked or else..."
"I- I understand, General. I will do what needs to be done," the Lieutenant quickly responded, knowing the implications of failing this task.
"Good."
"Ah, General,"
"Yes?"
"H-how about your wif--"
"Miss Torres! That's how you should address her. She's too young to be called my wife. It takes time!" he remarked.
"O-okay. I-If that's the case, what should we do with her after dinner tonight?"
"Take her with you to Manila. My house is ready. Nanay Tacy is there, waiting for her. She knows what to do with Miss Torres, so you can just leave her at my house."
"Copy that, General!"
"She's just in 11th grade. She needs more time to build herself and mature. I don't want to be a babysitter! I'm not a babysitter after all!" he said in a mocking tone before loosening his necktie with a grin.
Shu Torres often wondered when or where she would meet the man she had married.
For two years since their wedding, she had neither seen him nor heard his voice.
Yes, she had moved in and lived for two years in the house owned by General Griffin, but she had not even glimpsed his shadow.
"Mother, I really don't know anything about marriage. Besides, I'm only fifteen years old."
"Shu, my child, we understand that. But you agreed, didn't you? Besides, this isn't final; it's just a preliminary arrangement to fulfill the agreement between Señora's family and the first family of the country, the Villarialles."
"Your mother is right, Shu. Don't worry, this is just a pre-wedding. The proper wedding will be held when you're of the right age."
"But why do we have these kinds of agreements?" she complained, causing Señora to smile.
"Hmm, we may have many questions about these things, but we have no choice but to follow. It's important to honor the words and wishes of our family's ancestors for a peaceful and harmonious life. Otherwise, the consequences will be severe. We will be cursed forever, and I don't want that to happen."
She could only tremble at Señora Agnes's words.
"Shu, I know this is not easy for you either, but you understand the situation, right?"
"Y-yes, Señora," she replied timidly as something crossed her mind.
"W-wait, Señora, isn't the young master of the first family supposed to marry my twin? I mean, marry me? And my twin mentioned that the young master is reluctant to follow the agreement because he's already in love with someone else."
Señora smiled at her words before turning serious.
"The young master will not be the token offered by the first family in this agreement, Shu."
"W-what? B-but why? Who?" she asked, eyes widening at what she heard.
"The first-ranked General of the palace, Shu."
"G-general? W-which one?" she asked nervously as thoughts raced through her mind upon hearing the word "General."
"No one else but the general you're thinking of right now, Shu. He is the only general in the palace."
"GENERAL DEMON?!" she exclaimed in fear, her eyes widening. "No, Señora. I didn't want to marry that playboy and jerk of a young master, let alone that ruthless, terrifying General Demon!" she protested, scooting back in her seat.
Señora sighed and nodded before speaking again.
"That's why I'm more determined not to offer my daughter Cera in this marriage, Shu. She has had a heart condition since she was a child. She cannot handle being the wife of a general like General Griffin. No one knows him except the first family, but his reputation throughout the country is notorious. Moreover, he has lost two wives less than a year after marrying them. I'm afraid my daughter will suffer the same fate," she said with concern in her voice.
"S-so it's true that General Griffin has already had two wives and they both died a few months after marrying him?"
"Yes. That's not just a rumor."
"S-so it's also true that h-he is the reason for their deaths--"
"Shhh... that's enough, Shu. You're just scaring yourself. While there are many negative rumors about him, as I said, no one knows General Griffin except the first family and... and soon, you, once you marry him."
Shu's face was a picture of unease as her mind raced with thoughts about the general.
Although no one outside the first family and palace staff had seen or met him, negative rumors about him still spread among the public. If General Griffin were to be compared to someone with a bad reputation, the president of North Korea would be a perfect match.
She was busy overthinking and fretting when Señora suddenly approached her and took her hands, prompting her to stand and face her.
"Shu," she began, her eyes filled with emotion. "Since you were a child, your mother brought you to this mansion, so you grew up with my daughter. Whatever she has, you have too. Whatever her interests are, yours are the same. You are identical in every aspect, even physically, which is why you call each other twins. This is why you are the only one who can help us in this situation. You will be the daughter we offer to the first family as General Griffin's wife. They won't suspect anything because you and Cera are identical. The only difference is that you are stronger and more cheerful. So, I know you can handle being the wife of someone like General Griffi--"
"D-Demon," she interrupted, causing Señora to smile bitterly.
"Shu, I know this is a huge and lifelong sacrifice for you, which is why we will compensate you handsomely. We will take care of your family. Your mother will no longer need to work here in the mansion. But if she still wants to be a supervisor, she can continue. But we will cover all your expenses, including your siblings' education."
Shu wiped away her tears after recalling the agreements she made with Cera's family two years ago. These agreements were why she was now living alone in Griffin mansion, far from her family, with only the guard and Nanay Tacy to talk to every day, especially when she was at home.
At school, apart from her friends Ivon and Pao, she didn't have anyone else to talk to, especially since she was a transferee.
Since the pre-wedding with General Griffin, she had been taken to Manila to live the rest of her life there. She had to stay in the Griffin household and study at a premier school for all the rich kids in the country. Of course, there were also poor kids, but they were the town's scholars, descendants of Einstein, if that makes sense.
The highlight was that the young master of the palace, Khallib Spencer Villarialle, attended the school, along with his cousin Dhark Han Villarialle, who had no other intention but to bully her.
For some reason, since their paths crossed, Dhark had never left her alone.
In fact, Dhark had become the center of her daily life at school and, unexpectedly, the person who completed her days.
To Be Continued...
I took a deep breath before slowly opening my eyes. I was wearing a white gown that hugged my body, making me look even more beautiful. I glanced at the bouquet of white flowers in my hand and smiled before walking into the garden. I was amazed because the theme of our wedding was in my favorite color, and there were butterflies happily flying around. I was happy because the family of the man I had dreamed of accepted me. They wanted our wedding, even though it was sudden, and I was happy despite it being an arranged marriage in an unexpected situation. I thought this only happened to rich people, but I was wrong because it happened to me too. If only I could scream and shout that I am the luckiest woman in the world because the man I once dreamed of is now mine. "Love is a choice," he said, so I trusted him a lot, but he had one request for the right time. There was no problem because he was mature enough when it came to relationships, and we loved each other. But fate is truly deceptive because a time came when many "what if" questions flooded my mind. What if I couldn't fulfill his one request and dream? What if his former lover could give it to him instead? What if I saw him happy with her because of that dream? Can I stay with him even if he says he loves me but prioritizes her? What if fate tests us, and even though we love each other, he chooses her because that's what he's making me feel now? "I don't want to hurt you, but they are my family now," he said seriously, and I lowered my head and cried in front of him. I could still hold on, but I could feel that he didn't want to anymore. Should I still fight for him even though it hurts so much? I wondered. "Do you want me to leave?" I asked bravely, hoping he would say no, but I was wrong. "If that's what's best. Leave," he said for the last time and hurriedly turned his back on me. I couldn't do anything but cry and cry, so I made a decision. "For the sake of your dream, I'll do it," I said softly and started packing my things. I hope you'll be happy when the time comes that fate brings us together again. I'm Christian Rana Reyes. And he is Frank Lin Mondragon.
He had really prepared for this day; today, he would finally confess his love to her. "Sorry, Melvin, I don't want anything from you." I felt as if the ground had fallen away beneath me after he spoke. Immediately, we heard a scream in the distance. And I knew who it was-none other than Augusto Guillermo, the man who captivated all the girls at school. There wasn't a girl who didn't like him, while we boys were constantly overshadowed because of him. "Why is he here again? Isn't he rich? Why choose to study here?" "Tsk! There he goes again, your annoying hero!" said the guy next to me. "Oh, don't expect your Chelsea to respond to you! As long as that man is around, none of the girls here will like us," I muttered, left alone, glaring at Augusto. He should disappear from this school. He gets all the attention; besides being handsome, he's also smart and is likely to be the top student next semester. Suddenly, he had a thought, and from that moment, he knew he would regret it. He discovered that the man was ruthless, as he had seen him tormenting his classmates who had spoken ill of him earlier. What was even worse was catching him in a compromising position with someone, a girl who looked like the school president. That was the result of his surveillance and the trauma it caused him because of the sickening things he saw. He gathered evidence and spread it all over campus, causing a big commotion. What will happen when Augusto finds out that he was the one who spread the rumors? Will his quiet life end, or will everything remain a secret? Stay tuned.
She is Flammara Shane Hernandez or better known as Mara, 17 years old who is pretty, kind and smart but grew into violence due to the mistreatment of her mother and sister and her only savior is her only older brother Kentdrick cint Santiago 25 years old But what if the one' you consider most important to you and your protector turns out to be the one' who destroys your life and puts you in a life like hell - PROLOGUE - "Brother, it hurts" I said, the pain of him clinging to my arm and I tried to remove it with one of my hands, but I couldn't do anything, his eyes were on the man in front of me and it was so bad that he could look, it was worse than if that's why I didn't understand him, why was he so angry I was alarmed when my brother was about to punch the man and immediately covered it but my brother didn't continue, I know my brother doesn't want trouble and everyone's attention so he didn't continue. "Stay away from her b*llsh*t" he shouted emphatically and looked at me again with glazed eyes I was surprised when it reached my pulse and pulled it, I don't know where we are going, just the speed of my heart beating 'why is he like this' Brother, where are you taking me? "I stuttered and was about to cry but he didn't answer The sound of the music gradually disappeared from my hearing as we went up to an unknown place,,,, immediately my eyes widened and my heart beat faster when I saw that we were going to a room Upon reaching a room, he immediately pulled me in and slammed the door shut at the same time as it was locked, my knees were almost shaking. "K'kuya" I was surprised and my tears started to flow when he suddenly threw me on the bed "Didn't I tell you Flammara not to do anything to make me angry!!!" His scream almost echoed throughout the room, I looked at him in tears. "It's not what you think brother, he's just asking, what's wrong with that?" I asked crying and sat on the bed "He's just asking, but if you smile at him, it's pure!! " I was almost deafened by his scream "What's making you angry?" I also shouted because I couldn't understand him anymore, I don't want him to be like this, I'm afraid "You gave me the reason not to stop myself Flammara,,,, so now" I stepped back and my whole being trembled following my continuous tears because he was slowly unbottoming his polo, No! I hope I'm wrong You will face my punishment! "What are you doing brother!? " I backed away even more and reached the headboard of the bed, now he was removing his belt I didn't wait for him to completely take off his underwear, I quickly ran to the door but I stopped and my knees trembled as if I was going to fall to the ground, because of the mixed feelings, a gun was pointed at my head, why did he have gun? "Try to escape Mara and your head will explode!" I slowly looked at him with a pleading look on his face but he looked at me like a merciless demon. He quickly grabbed my left arm very tightly at the same time as he pointed the gun at my throat so that my head lifted up and I swallowed one after another. "P'please brother, don't do this to me, I'm begging you! " I begged but he just grinned and rubbed the gun on my shoulder, I was so scared that it might go off so my body was like a statue "You gave me a reason to do this baby, your f*cking testing my patience, so Kana will never get rid of me, I will make sure to destroy what you care about the most, F*ck!" Again I struggled as he tore my clothes at the same time as he kissed my lips, but again he pointed the gun so I didn't do anything, I don't want this but I also don't want to die He threw me on the bed again and I was saddened to watch him take off the rest of the covers I couldn't do anything but cry and hold the bed sheet tightly around my mouth and endure especially when I felt its delicacy in my middle while still continuing to kiss my neck. He's no longer my brother, he's like a demon on top of me.
Ember was quietly sipping her vodka when she felt a presence next to her. She didn't look at the person because she was too stressed and focused on her drink. She needed to go home after finishing a bottle of vodka because her daughter, Easter, might be looking for her. She had come here to unwind her chaotic mind after seeing her husband and his mistress having sex in their room. She was mad about it because, even though she didn't love him, she had stayed loyal to him. She didn't want to ruin the family they had built, even if it was just a marriage for business. She tried to love her husband and gave him a child, but she didn’t know why it felt like it wasn’t enough. She felt something was missing. Her husband felt it too, but that wasn't a good enough reason for him to cheat. She had the right to file a case against them but didn’t because her husband begged her not to and promised he would never do it again. To cool off, she headed to the Elite Bar for the first time and drank vodka. Luckily, their daughter was asleep when it happened; otherwise, she would have really filed a case for adultery and concubinage. "Hi there, beautiful lady. Why are you alone here? No friends or boyfriend—f*ck, you're married?" he exclaimed, noticing the ring on her hand. She was amazed by his looks. He had amber eyes like copper that made her lose her senses, a proud aristocrat nose, thick eyelashes and eyebrows that women dreamed of, a sharp jawline that defined his masculinity, a perfect set of pearl teeth, and red lips that looked tasty. His top knot hairstyle matched his Adonis-like face. "What's your name?" She didn’t know where she got the courage to ask, even though it was obvious she was taken. He grinned widely. "D*mn, I really attract women who are already taken. But anyways..." He extended his hand. "I'm Erin De'Lucas, single," he said, looking deeply into her eyes. Ember couldn't help but trace his body and found herself in awe of how sexy and hot he was. He was wearing a black tank top and black pants and had a piercing in his left eyebrow. Without thinking, she took his hand and felt his grip tighten. "I—I'm Ember Vernon. Nice to meet you." "You're beautiful," he said, stroking her face. "T—Thank you," she replied, his deep voice weakening her. She wasn’t sure if it was the vodka or her natural reaction to him. He tilted his head, looking into her eyes. "I don't want to ruin someone else's relationship, but looking at you right now makes me want to bend my rules and make you mine instead." His warm, fragrant breath against her ear made her body tremble. "H—huh?" She felt deafened by his words. He chuckled and held her hand where the ring was, staring at it darkly. "Will you give me the honor to be your other man, mi hermosa?" She swallowed hard under his intense gaze. His aura screamed danger, but she found it attractive. She didn't know what to say; she was married to Tyson, and they had a daughter. But they didn’t love each other. What was stopping her? Her daughter, Easter. "I—I don't—" Before she could finish, he covered her mouth with his large hand, making her eyes widen in shock. His jaw tightened. "I don't accept rejection. I've had enough. Whether you like it or not, I'm already your other man. I don't care if you're married. I like you and want you to be mine. That's final, and you can't stop me from owning you starting tonight, mi reina," he said coldly and dangerously. "Even your husband can't stop me from having an affair with a woman like you. It's your fault. You've caught my attention and my heart. Now face the consequences for being too irresistible." She didn't know why, but she found herself agreeing as they sealed it with a torrid kiss all night long. "I'm officially now your Forbidden Affair, Mi Reina."
"Mr. Walter" I came back to my trance when sir called me, I just now noticed that they were all looking at me. "Huh?" I only said and put the ballpoint pen they were playing with on the table. "Any suggestions?" sir asked with raised eyebrows. "U-uh nothing" I sat down properly and adjusted myself. Gosh I'm spacing out. "Are you sure Mr.?" I turned to the speaker. I grinned when I saw who it was. "I'm sure Mr. Sunday" I said with a smile, as if our old man thought I didn't know him.
