**PROLOGUE** "They say the princess will be transferred to another island." "Well, her skills are useless in this field." "Right? I don't even know why she's still here." "You know how it is, as long as there's a connection." I just sighed at the noise I heard. Actually, I'm used to it; there's not a day when I'm not the topic. But today is surprisingly weird. This is the first time I've heard that I will be transferred? Why am I the last to know? I just shrugged and continued carrying some stuff for the lab. "Where have you been? Why are you just arriving now?" I looked at the person who spoke. It was one of the healers with me in the lab, the head leader Cole. "Oh, I went to get what we needed for the lab." I quickly replied, afraid to get him in a bad mood. "The prince has been calling for you." My face lit up at the news. The prince? It's been a while. "Show some respect, go there quickly." "O-Oh yes! Wait... is my appearance okay? Should I fix myself first? It's embarrassing-" "Just go! You rarely get called, and yet you're so slow." He snapped at me, clearly irritated. "And do you really need to pretty yourself up?" said his companion, who had been side-eyeing me earlier. Yeah, people here don't like me much, but as I said, I'm used to it. I didn't answer and left. "Tsk. The prince didn't even have a choice; she's so prissy." Ah, I heard that. Pretty myself up? I just want to look presentable in front of the prince, is that so wrong? I just bowed my head. I should just get the dust off my dress. Why did the prince call for me? The last time he called me was two months ago. Our interaction was so short. He just wanted a life update, but he doesn't talk much. I pretty much do all the talking. As I walked towards the main room of the palace, I noticed something different. There were a lot of new items that weren't there before. 'The saintess needs this! She commented that the main hall looked sad.' I stopped in my tracks. The saintess, huh? My eyes drooped, and I continued walking. The prince doesn't like such things. Even his sister can't force him to make the hall look lively, but the saintess can? Although Prince Kaden manages this place, Prince Hellion always takes the lead in handling things. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN BY THAT? TRANSFER?! AND TO THAT PLACE?!" I was about to open the door when I heard a familiar shout. "We don't have a choice-" "Choice my ass! Just because of that woman, you're going to replace Lady Mora!? Have you got no shame?!" I opened the large door and saw Aurora there. She was clenching her teeth in anger. I also saw Princess Hellena, Prince Hellion, and a saintess I didn't know. "Look, the skill Lady Mora has is really not suitable for us. She can heal, but it's slow, and we need to fight quickly in order to win," Princess Hellena insisted. "The lady has arrived," announced the guard who seemed to have forgotten to open the door for me, so I just opened it myself. He was there, so why didn't he open it? They all looked at me, well except for the prince. "My Lady!" Aurora shouted, rushing over and hugging me. "Stop me, I might hit them." She cried. "Lady Mora, you've finally arrived," Princess Hellena said softly. "Please don't take our news the wrong way; we only want what's best for the Hearthorn Empire." I suddenly felt cold at what I heard. The rumors were true? "Our engagement..." I quickly looked at the person who spoke. Prince Hellion, my fiancé. "Lady Morana Viole Fleur." It was the first time I heard my full name from his lips. "We will have to break our engagement." Wh-what!? Wait-this isn't the rumor I heard?! I thought I was just being transferred to another island?! Why does it have to be our engagement?! --
"Wake up little flower, she has arrived."
Immediately my eyes opened because of what I heard, the chilly of the voice. Then like a warning? "My lady! WHAT! WAKE UP! Today is the day we will be under the Palace ward! "
I groaned and covered my face, of course. Today is the day we are under the Palace Ward, I am excused a little because Prince Hellion is leading that ward.
I am Morana Viole Fleur, but some just called me Mora because the Morana is long. I have forest green eyes and waist length raven colored hair.
In this world we have what they called skill/magic. But the call is Arcana, it means 'secret'.
But because more and more there is Arcana. Its no longer a secret anymore but it still calls people.
I looked outside, what a good day for a raid. Hope my Arcana is faster now. Sometimes it's okay but sometimes it's too slow.
I don't want to disappoint injured people, especially when they have a big wound. They're in so much pain but I can't heal them quickly because my Arcana's healing process is really slow.
"Stop screaming Aurora." I heard Astral rebuke. I heard the door open in my room and saw astral with food.
I immediately got up. "Astral! I told you I can do this on my own. " I was embarrassed to say to him but he just smiled at me.
"Lady, it's me. I love doing this for you. " He insisted on me. "You are not used to it."
"Oh? Our lady Mora still insists on doing this on her own? Where are we? " Aurora said. Ah let me introduce the twin kitsunes. (Kitsune means fox btw!)
Aurora Cosmos, the Yin Kitsune. Has dark hair and golden eyes and her twin Astral Cosmos, the kitsune. Has white hair and like her twin, she also has golden eyes.
Because they are kitsune, they have ears and tails like a fox. They are the people who are 'hybrids', they are also a rare type of species because they are a whole is already an Arcana.
Them being rare is not really a good thing, because people love hybrids and some species went extinct. People wanted their power since they were made of Arcana.
Both of them were sold off in an auction house and luckily they were sold by the Fleur family. My mother didn't treat them as objects and considered them part of our family.
The twins were thankful that they wanted to serve our family, I didn't know the two of them.
"My lady, what are you thinking?" Astral asked softly, and Aurora nodded. It looks like they've been staring at me for a while.
"I just don't want you to think we're using you." My answer is poor. Aurora's eyebrows immediately raised me.
"What? Who said that again? Want me to smash their face on the ground ha? " Aurora asked annoyed, she came closer and fed me a bread.
She sighed and cupped my face. "My dear lady, don't even think about that. We're doing this for us too because we're not only thankful, we also love to serve you ok? "
"Yes my lady is not going to treat us badly." Support by Astral, Hayssss is fine and I have an understanding of companions.
"Since our first day at the Palace Ward, I heard that a raid is going to happen today." Aurora's change topic. "Which means you can see your fiancé."
My eyes immediately flickered, "Well you can't talk to her but you'll see her. Still good right? " -Astral.
"You know Bro, you ruined the moment eh. Let our Lady Mora see her prince charming. " Aurora rolled her eyes for what her twin said.
"Oh you're going to buff me right? For a long time we have not used our Arcana. We're getting Rusty for sure. " Aurora added with a smile.
Astral then gave me some tea, blue lotus tea! I immediately drank it, aaahh... my fav.
"We have been in the outer ward for a long time so there is no action." There is no reaction to Astral's answer, I think if you have twins...
Your personality is really different from each other or maybe Aurora and Astral. Aurora is that astounding, rough and talkative type twins.
Meanwhile, Astral is super calm and super -speaking. He always keeps his sister in control despite being the younger sibling.
"Yeah the outer ward is soooo boring, inside the town. Nothing will happen there since there are many royal guards. Why do they still need an Arcana user inside. " -Aurora
"You know how the Empire works, for the safety of everyone." -Astral
Hearthorn Empire is an Empire where everyone lives, a hybrid map or normal people (people with no Arcana). They reside in this place.
Let me explain, Hearthorn Empire is the main, it has an outer, inner and Palace ward. Outer ward is where the normal people reside, can also be hybrid or even Arcana users.
The inner ward is where the nobles, the majority of the nobles are Arcana users/arcanists and let's just say only one family has no Arcana but noble.
And then the Palace Ward, the Main Palace where there is a queen and king alongside some powerful and influential Arcana users.
Since we live in the inner ward, we are obliged to serve the Empire since we are Arcana users. Today is the day we were assigned to the Palace Ward.
Apparently, we were transferred so Aurora and Astral and I were very happy, "Be careful Mora, I heard Princess Hellena will be raiding some forest today."
"Of course grandmother, you're Father too. Be careful too. " My smiling answer to grandmother.
"She can manage, have some trust on her mother." Father answered. My father's name is Florian Fleur, my mother died a long time ago so we were together.
We said goodbye and got on the carriage. When we arrived, everyone immediately looked at us, I sighed and closed my eyes.
"He's with the raid?"
"Tsk, he's just with him because the twins are there."
Remember that one family with no Arcana but noble anyway? That's us, the fleur family. I'm the only one who has Arcana for a family.
