Olivia Brooks, a gentle Cancer born on the last day of June, was thrust into a contract marriage with billionaire Enzo Spencer due to a prophecy two years ago. Trapped in a vegetative state from a mysterious accident, Enzo remained unresponsive, leaving Olivia to endure scorn and mistreatment from everyone around her, including the household staff. Everything changes when, in a moment of peril, Enzo's eyes suddenly open. Olivia, planning to ask for a divorce before Enzo could, decides to support him through his recovery after noticing his penniless state and disabled legs. But instead of divorce papers, she is surprised with a proposal ring. Enzo Spencer, once a powerful heir and ruthless billionaire, fell victim to a sinister conspiracy that left him a vegetable. Awakening two years later, he finds his angel-like wife, a stranger he barely knew, in danger, his grandfather dead, and his rightful place in the Spencer family stolen. His now brooding and violent temperament leads everyone, including Olivia, to believe he's become a poor and disabled loser. However, even without his inheritance, Enzo still holds the power to bring despair to those who mocked and framed him. For Enzo, the most important task is to prevent Olivia, who always thinks about divorcing him, from leaving and to reclaim his lost fortune and status.

Chapter 1 He Woke Up

Olivia Spencer returned home with a discounted sandwich she had bought after finishing her part-time job.

"You haven't had dinner yet, have you? There are leftovers in the fridge," the maid, Jessica, said, sitting on the sofa, looking at Olivia with disdain in her brown eyes.

The younger red-haired maid, Alison, chimed in, "It's not like you don't have hands and feet." Their attitude was as if they were the house owner, showing Olivia no respect.

Olivia took a deep breath, suppressing her inner anger. Her hand, gripping the shopping bag tightly, turned pale, a flash of anger flickering in her olive-green eyes. She knew that any resistance would only lead to more severe bullying from these two maids.

For the sake of her husband in the upstairs bedroom, she had to endure.

"You can go complain to Mrs. Grace Spencer," Jessica said fearlessly.

Alison gave Olivia a scornful glance. "You're just a loser who got lucky when the late Mr. Andrew Spencer arranged for you to marry Sir Enzo. But you failed to make the most of your luck. You know Ma'am Grace's kindness is the only reason you're not kicked out!"

"She's no lucky star. She's like the broom under a witch's butt-disgusting," Jessica cursed, throwing the popcorn in her hand at Olivia's face and body.

Alison immediately added, "Exactly. She must have faked her birth date, which is why Sir Enzo hasn't woken up yet."

Jessica and Allison laughed their asses off.

Hearing them mention her husband Enzo, Olivia's face turned ashen, like leaves mercilessly scattered by the autumn wind, pale and powerless.

Two years ago, a sudden accident had brought Enzo from the peak of his life to the bottom, turning him into a vegetative state. The doctors said there was only a 50% chance that Enzo would wake up.

It was said that Enzo's grandfather, Andrew, had encountered an astrologer from Britain, who predicted that if Enzo married a girl born under the Cancer sign at the end of June, he would wake up.

Coincidentally, she, Olivia Brooks, who was working as a part-time private nurse hired specifically to take care of Enzo, was born on June 30th and was a Cancer.

At the time, her foster mother was critically ill and needed a large sum of money for medical treatment. She had no reason to refuse Andrew's offer of one million dollars. So, she married the vegetative Enzo Spencer.

Olivia sighed, filled with complex emotions, and silently picked the popcorn off her hair and clothes.

When she and Enzo had first moved in and were bullied by Jessica and Alison, Olivia had tried to resist. But every attempt ended in failure, even leading to Jessica's retaliatory measures, leaving Olivia exhausted and forced to endure.

After cleaning off the popcorn stuck to her, Olivia quickly ate her sandwich and then returned to her room. She flipped the switch, and the dim room was immediately filled with a soft orange light.

The room wasn't spacious, with a double bed occupying most of the space.

Her husband, Enzo Spencer, lay on one side of the bed, just as he had for the past seven hundred nights, lying quietly with his eyes closed, breathing steadily, like a prince lost in a distant dream.

Olivia tiptoed to the bedside, her fingers habitually placed under his straight nose. Warm breaths gently caressed her fingertips. She then held Enzo's hand, feeling the warmth emanating from his palm.

After her mother and Grandpa Andrew passed away one after another, Olivia felt lonely and helpless, like a boat lost in the boundless sea. But Enzo's presence gave her strength, giving her the courage to keep moving forward, even though he couldn't respond to her touch or share his thoughts.

Olivia carefully turned Enzo over, her movements skilled and gentle, afraid of disturbing his peace.

This was Olivia's daily routine after returning from work- turning Enzo over, washing him, and massaging him to ensure his muscles didn't atrophy from being in the same position for too long.

Olivia filled a basin with warm water. The steam rising from the water seemed to dispel the surrounding chill.

She placed a clean towel in the appropriately warm water, wrung it out, and gently wiped every inch of Enzo's skin with soft movements.

Two years ago, Olivia would get nervous and shy when looking at Enzo's firm abdomen, closing her eyes in embarrassment. At that time, she felt confused and uneasy about the sudden marriage. But now, she had learned to control her nervousness because she was accustomed to her unfortunate husband never opening his eyes, no matter what.

When all the care tasks were done, the hour hand of clock on the wall pointed to ten at night. Olivia sighed in relief and decided to take a hot bath to enjoy her rare private time.

The layout of this small suburban villa was quite unreasonable. The only bathroom in the house was on the first floor.

She carefully pushed open the bedroom door, stepping lightly on the creaky wooden floor. Even in the bathroom, she didn't dare turn the water on full blast, fearing that any loud noise would provoke Jessica's dissatisfaction and curses.

After finishing her bath and returning to the second floor, Olivia looked at the dark hallway ahead, feeling a cold wind was blowing from there. She instinctively tightened her grip on the collar of her pajamas.

Her heartbeat quickened, and a sense of foreboding spread through her heart. She quickly ran back to her bedroom. Just as she was about to close the door, it was suddenly yanked open from the outside.

Standing at the doorway was Benjamin, Jessica's son. His face was flushed, his steps unsteady, and he reeked of alcohol.

"You're still up?" As soon as he saw Olivia, his dark brown eyes filled with obvious greed and desire.

A strong wave of disgust and fear surged in Olivia's heart, her expression darkened as she swiftly grabbed a glass vase from the table, assuming a defensive stance.

"Benjamin, leave now!" Olivia's voice was firm and strong.

"Stop pretending." Benjamin completely ignored Olivia's warning, a mocking smile tugging at his lips. "You bitch, instead of staying with a useless vegetable, why not be with me? I guarantee you'll reach your climax, moaning continuously while I fu*k you."

With that, Benjamin reached out, trying to grab Olivia.

Olivia felt a rush of anger and despair but did not give up resisting. She threw the glass vase in her hand with all her might.

"Ah!" Benjamin was struck by the vase and let out a wretched scream. His expression instantly became grim, anger blazing in his eyes. "You bitch, you dare to hit me? I'll make sure to teach you a lesson tonight!" His voice was like a beast's roar.

"Jessica! Alison!" Olivia shouted for help.

Fortunately, Jessica and Alison hadn't slept yet. Hearing the noise, they rushed to the room.

Jessica pounded on the door, her voice filled with anger and reproach. "Damn it, Ben, come out. Are you drunk again?"

Olivia was still the Enzo's wife, and Jessica knew that if anything happened to Olivia, their entire family would be in trouble.

"Benjamin! You drunk jerk! Open the door!" Alison, Benjamin's girlfriend, shouted his name, trying to bring him back to his senses. Her voice echoed through the hallway, full of warning and threat.

However, Benjamin's drunkenness tonight was premeditated. Upon entering the room, he had locked the door, not wanting anyone to disturb him.

Olivia's heart pounded quickly; she knew she had to find a way to escape.

Her eyes suddenly fell on the window; it was her only hope. She summoned all her courage and dashed toward the window, hoping to escape.

However, Benjamin moved faster. He grabbed Olivia by the head and violently threw her against the dressing table. Olivia felt a sharp pain in her head as the mirror shattered, scattering pieces everywhere.

Her body twisted in pain, but she still struggled to stand. "Even if you kill me, I won't let you get away with it!"

Her resistance seemed to further infuriate Benjamin. He picked up a shard of the broken mirror, grabbed Olivia's slender wrist, and placed the shard against her neck.

His voice was low and threatening. "Shut up! Let me fu*k you until I'm satisfied, and I'll let you go." His eyes roamed over Olivia's body, filled with lechery and greed.

Olivia felt a wave of despair but knew she couldn't give up. A determined light flashed in her eyes as she grabbed a shard of the mirror from the ground, ready to use it as her last weapon.

Just as she prepared to strike back, Benjamin suddenly lunged at her. She instinctively closed her eyes, and time seemed to stop.

A dull thud sounded, followed by an eerie silence. Olivia felt a warm liquid drip onto her cheek, smelling the faint scent of blood.

She slowly opened her eyes and saw, in the warm yellow light, that the shard of mirror in her hand had lodged in Benjamin's neck. Blood flowed from his neck, and he collapsed to the ground, powerless.

Olivia was filled with shock and fear, her body trembling uncontrollably. She pushed Benjamin away, a wave of nausea rising in her chest. She couldn't help but vomit, expelling even the sandwich she had for dinner.

Her stomach churned violently, pain and fear intertwining, making it almost impossible to breathe.

When Olivia finally snapped out of the sudden upheaval, she felt a piercing chill.

She looked up and met a pair of pale blue eyes. His gaze was deep but carried a hint of ferocity, like a wolf resting in the grass, suddenly opening its eyes, ready to pounce on its prey.

A wave of indescribable fear surged in Olivia's heart, and her voice trembled, "En...Enzo..."
