CHAPTER ONE
VIVIAN
I opened the door, creeping into the house so my footsteps wouldn't be heard. Walking into my favorite spot in the house, the kitchen, I saw two wine glasses and my favorite wine, the most expensive wine I owned.
"Did Devin invite someone over?" I whispered to myself.
I continued my walk upstairs and heard something coming from the bedroom. I tiptoed towards the bedroom and gently opened the door.
My heart squeezed inside my chest as I saw the actions that were performed. My boyfriend was receiving a blowjob from my...sister, and he had that dreamy look in his eyes, one that I had never seen him have for me.
Christine knelt and with her long blonde hair splayed all over her neck, she had the most erotic look on her face.
I had seen several posts on the internet where a man's trust was tested and the sister or bestfriend of his girlfriend or wife to be would seduce him and try to sleep with him but he wouldn't fall prey to it.
I had prayed and wished hard for it while reading the post even though I almost laughed out my guts. But now, I had seen the reality.
He was fucking my sister in my own fucking house in my room, on my freaking bed!
"You bastards!" I yelled, but it only came out as a croak,I didn't even have the courage to yell out,so I just stood there and watched them complete the process in absolute agony.
I couldn't take it anymore when they decided to go for the second time as I felt myself gag.
I ran outside, taking only my phone and wearing inappropriate shoes.
I ran. Running had always been a way for me to clear my mind. It was a comfort place for me and I always ran whenever something bothered me so I could get it off my chest.
But,I ran not to get it off my chest but to probably faint and die somewhere where no one would find me.
My thoughts drifted back to when we first met, beautiful times.
I was more or less the adopted daughter in my family. And I was not adopted due to the love anyone had for me. My mother died suddenly, no one knew why she died and no one bothered finding out. She was tagged as the oddball in her family, the whore, the slut and it left a stigma on me.
I never hated my mother because I knew that she loved me, I just always felt bad for her. The man who claimed to love her just left after finding out she had me. I was the problem.
My aunt, Amelia had taken me in when I was fifteen and I sincerely thought she would take care of me but life always had a way of proving me wrong. I was treated like a slave. The same way Cinderella was treated.
Growing up, I had inferiority complex, being told everyday what a failure I was. So when Devin came to me like a knight in shining armor,I immediately jumped on his horse, letting him take me away.
I had always refused sex with him because of the incident with my mother so even though I loved him dearly,I was always still afraid.
I bumped into something hard while running and rubbed my forehead. I raised my head slowly so I could curse and vent out all my frustration on who or whatever it was.
Words got stuck in my throat. Tall, dark hair gelled to the back, emerald green eyes, perfectly chiseled jaw, heart shaped lips, sleepy eyes. I let out a sigh. It was like he jumped straight out of a movie,or a manga.
"Are you okay,miss?" He asked.
His voice was raspy and strong and I felt my frustration slowly melt away. It was replaced with something else, awe? Maybe.
My brain still hadn't remembered how to form words so I just started crying.
He looked at me with a troubled expression and tried to coax me but it didn't work,it only motivated me to bawl my eyes out. I cried, this time louder and drew the attention of people who passed by.
"What an asshole, making a lady cry like that." A passerby stated, throwing him a look of disgust.
"Miss, leave him alone, there are many fish in the ocean to pick from. Its always the handsome ones that cause the most trouble." Another person said.
Two boys who were also passing by threw him looks of disgust and annoyance, raising their middle fingers to him. "Its guys like you that give us a bad reputation. Not all guys are like that!"
He raised his hands in the air, trying to debunk all their claims but it all fell on deaf ears.
He had a small frown on his face and his gorgeous lips settled into a pout.
I chuckled softly and his expression darkened when he heard me.
"Now, you chuckle?"
He directed me to a bench that was in the road and we sat in silence. I was silent because I was trying to figure out a way to speak.
He suddenly spoke. "You seemed to be in distress. I'm not one to involve myself in matters that don't concern me,more or less people I don't know. But, we are pretty much acquainted seeing the fact that I am a disgrace to my gender, and an asshole and the problem because I am a handsome man, apparently."
I chuckled again,I never imagined that I would be able to smile when I just discovered that my boyfriend cheated on me but I smiled.
I told him everything about myself and everything that had happened to me and he sat quietly, listening attentively as different emotions displayed across his face.
Tears flowed down my cheeks as I rounded up my story. I looked up to him and noticed that he looked at me with literally no expression on his face.
Good, I had creeped him out.
He abruptly stood up and my eyes followed him.
"My name is Lucian, and I would like to be the prince charming you never had."
I swallowed hard.
He stretched his hands towards me "Marry me."
