Because I had a lipoma on my chest and went to the hospital for surgery, I ended up meeting a handsome male doctor...
"Take off your bra." The man with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes focused intently as I awkwardly reached behind to unclasp my bra, saying, "Don't be nervous. It might hurt a little."
I was Kaitlin Kirk, and somewhat unfortunately, I had a rather large lipoma above my chest that I was having removed through minimally invasive surgery.
The thin green cotton fabric used in the hospital barely covered my body, yet my chest was still half-exposed, leaving me feeling utterly embarrassed. The medical staff in front of me, was fully equipped with masks and hats, with only his eyes visible. The stark contrast with the array of surgical instruments made me feel like a helpless prey.
Yet even in such a moment, I couldn't help but try to imagine what the face behind that mask looked like, peering through those sharp eyebrows and captivating eyes.
Judging by the mask's height, I thought the nose must be high too. If the nose was well-shaped, with well-proportioned features and smooth facial lines, he must be quite handsome. From my point of view, looking at his height, the figure along with those long legs, the only word that came to my mind was perfect!
At that moment, the doctor with the sharp eyebrows and bright eyes signaled to the nurse. As the green cloth was pulled down, I felt a chill all over. The last bit of modesty was completely gone. I felt utterly exposed and embarrassed.
And then it got worse. The door to the minimally invasive surgery room opened, and a voice from the doorway said, "The director asked us to observe."
Damn! What kind of terrible situation was this? Did I really end up with those so-called intern observation sessions?
"No way! If they come in, I'll sue you!" I made it clear; I would rather face anything than be humiliated like this!
The handsome doctor was taken aback by my serious expression and firm attitude. He looked at me with a faint smile, then told the nurse, "Let them go elsewhere."
His voice was deep and pleasant. Why did it sound so familiar?
At that moment, two nurses were talking to the interns at the door, and only he was by my bed. He just stood there quietly watching me, with a hint of an inexplicable smile in his eyes. And then he said, "Kaitlin, long time no see!"
Was it him? Jaxon Howe?! I was completely stunned!
Back in high school, he was the most popular guy in school and I fell for at first sight. The guy I pursued for an entire semester, who was two years younger than me, yet a genius two grades above me. It was Jaxon who was my boyfriend for just three days before breaking up with me.
It had indeed been a long time since we last met, but running into him again in such a situation was awkward. This was a nightmare, a total embarrassment!!!
I passed out from sheer embarrassment before the anesthesia even kicked in. During the surgery, although he came to perform a minimally invasive procedure to remove lipoma above my chest and followed all the proper procedures while wearing gloves, I couldn't bring myself to think about the indescribable details.
In short, after the surgery, I just fled the hospital in a hurry, thinking we would never meet again in this lifetime.
But to my surprise, ten days later, I went to find him myself. And I made an important decision. I would pursue him again! No matter his attitude towards me, nothing would deter me.
The reason was simple. Three days ago, I learned from a friend that back then, Jaxon agreed to be my boyfriend for three days because he lost a bet.
I was furious. Jaxon could dislike me, he could reject me, but he couldn't treat the purest feelings of my youth as a joke.
So, I made a bet with my friend. I would chase Jaxon again, get him my boyfriend, and then dump him, making him feel what it was like to have a sincere heart played with.

Afterward, she decided to get her life back on track. Her name was everywhere years later. Mitchel became very uncomfortable. For some reason, he began to miss her. My husband, Bennett, and I were New York's golden couple. But our perfect marriage was a lie, childless because of a rare genetic condition he claimed would kill any woman who carried his baby. When his dying father demanded an heir, Bennett proposed a solution: a surrogate. The woman he chose, Aria, was a younger, more vibrant version of me. Suddenly, Bennett was always busy, supporting her through "difficult IVF cycles." He missed my birthday. He forgot our anniversary. I tried to believe him, until I overheard him at a party. He confessed to his friends that his love for me was a "deep connection," but with Aria, it was "fire" and "exhilarating." He was planning a secret wedding with her in Lake Como, at the same villa he'd promised me for our anniversary. He was giving her a wedding, a family, a life—all the things he denied me, using a lie about a deadly genetic condition as his excuse. The betrayal was so complete it felt like a physical shock. When he came home that night, lying about a business trip, I smiled and played the part of the loving wife. He didn't know I'd heard everything. He didn't know that while he was planning his new life, I was already planning my escape. And he certainly didn't know I had just made a call to a service that specialized in one thing: making people disappear.

It was surprising because the lucky girl was said to be a plain Jane, who grew up in the countryside and had nothing to her name. One evening, she showed up at a banquet, stunning everyone present. "Wow, she's so beautiful!" All the men drooled, and the women got so jealous. What they didn't know was that this so-called country girl was actually an heiress to a billion-dollar empire. It wasn't long before her secrets came to light one after the other. The elites couldn't stop talking about her. "Holy smokes! So, her father is the richest man in the world?" "She's also that excellent, but mysterious designer who many people adore! Who would have guessed?" Nonetheless, people thought that Rupert didn't love her. But they were in for another surprise. Rupert released a statement, silencing all the naysayers. "I'm very much in love with my beautiful fiancee. We will be getting married soon." Two questions were on everyone's minds: "Why did she hide her identity? And why was Rupert in love with her all of a sudden?"

But that joy was replaced with dread as her husband, Ryan, showered his affections on his first love. With a heavy heart, she chose to set him free and leave. When they met again, Ryan's attention was caught by Jenessa's protruding belly. "Whose child are you carrying?!" he demanded. But she only scoffed. "It's none of your business, my dear ex-husband!"
When Corynn mustered up the courage to tell Elliot about her pregnancy, she unexpectedly found him gallantly helping another woman from his car. Three years later, life had taken Corynn down a new path with someone else, while Elliot was left grappling with regret. Seizing a moment of vulnerability, he pleaded, "Corynn, let's get married." Shaking her head with a faint smile, Corynn gently replied, "Sorry, I'm already engaged."
For three quiet, patient years, Christina kept house, only to be coldly discarded by the man she once trusted. Instead, he paraded a new lover, making her the punchline of every town joke. Liberated, she honed her long-ignored gifts, astonishing the town with triumph after gleaming triumph. Upon discovering she'd been a treasure all along, her ex-husband's regret drove him to pursue her. "Honey, let's get back together!" With a cold smirk, Christina spat, "Fuck off." A silken-suited mogul slipped an arm around her waist. "She's married to me now. Guards, get him the hell out of here!"
