Despite Marshall spending a fortune training Kyla in college and was also the person behind her growth in the business world. All he got in return was humiliation from her and his Mother-in-law when he hit rock bottom. To add insult to injury, Kyla openly cheats on him and flaunts her infidelity in his face. She even forced Marshall to sign a divorce afterwards. Just as he thought he had lost it all, a long-kept secret was revealed. Marshall was actually the heir of a legendary conglomerate with multi-billion-dollar assets. With his newfound wealth, Marshall swore to pay back those who made life a living hell for him tenfold how they treated him. Will he succeed?
"Marshall, hurry up and leave this office. You have a few minutes to finish all you're doing."
Inside the office of the manager of the Ninks Group, Mr. Scott, the manager said as he paused watching a filthy video on his laptop. A man stood opposite him, dressed in plain clothing with a mopping stick in his hand. He was in his late twenties.
"I'm sorry, sir, but I'm just starting to clean this office now. I've been cleaning other offices," Marshall humbly replied.
Mr. Scott didn't reply to his response but continued watching the video and letting out a lustful smile.
"I think I should discuss with him my low salary because it might take him two months to return on this trip he would travel," Marshall said inwardly.
"Sir, I want to discuss something with you."
"And what could that be?" Mr. Scott responded without even looking at him. His voice sounded as if Marshall was disturbing him.
"It's about my salary, sir. I think you should consider a pay rise because, with the current economy, $200 isn't enough to sustain a kid; talk more of an adult who has responsibilities."
"You have less than five minutes to finish everything you're doing in all the offices," Mr. Scott replied.
Marshall smiled bitterly and continued his work. He dared not utter a word because he might get fired completely.
Although Marshall has been working at Ninks Global Manufacturing Group for five years now, which is the top 1 jewel manufacturing company in Harrington City, a pauper feeds better than him. He has been in the company even before most of the upper echelons, yet his income is very low, and he hasn't been promoted even once, regardless of his hard work and assiduousness. He was even demoted to a cleaner position after an accusation.
After a few minutes passed, he had already mopped the office. While trying to leave the office, he heard a sound, which caused him to turn and know what the matter was, only to see his boss standing and his laptop on the floor.
"What the f*ck have you done, Marshall? You just spoiled my laptop!" Mr. Scott yelled at him.
Marshall's countenance changed instantly upon hearing that. He wasn't even close to his boss at the moment. How did he then result in the falling of the laptop?
"But, sir, I didn't touch your laptop. I'm not even close to you. I guess your leg shook the table while trying to stand up," Marshall tried to explain.
"Shut the f*ck up! Who caused it? You made here uncomfortable for me, which resulted in me wanting to leave the office."
"Do you know how much this laptop is worth? I bought this laptop directly from their company, which cost twice its normal price," Mr. Scott reverberated.
"Sir, I'm very sorry. Please don't ask me to go buy a new laptop. I'm still trying to clear the debt my father went into before he died. I can't afford even a replica laptop, talkmore of this type," Marshall pleaded.
Marshall's father, Mr. Anderson, was an influential man in his era, but after engaging in a business deal with unfaithful business partners, he was duped and accused of being responsible for the loss of the contributed money for the importation of the goods, which sent him into an unplanned debt. This also led to his untimely death because his thoughts on how to clear the debt increased his blood pressure.
"Don't even bring family issues into this. Face your problem alone, because I have mine. In conclusion, you're going to pay for this laptop," Scott said and left the office, leaving the laptop on the floor.
Marshall rushed to the laptop and picked it up, glancing all over it to see if there was anything that had broken. As he noticed the laptop didn't even have any scratches on it, he exhaled deeply and pressed the power button. To his utmost surprise, it powered on.
"Wow, nothing happened to it," he said with a smile on his face. At this moment, words can't explain how happy he was. He was not going to pay for it anymore!
Just as the laptop was done booting, he was surprised that it wasn't even locked.
"Mr. Scott is such a careless person," he muttered.
As he wanted to power it off and place it back in its position, a message popped up in the notification bar with his wife's name.
Marshall's countenance frowned, and he tapped on it to check if it was really his wife.
"Let it not be what I'm thinking," he mumbled.
As he opened the conversation, he was surprised that it was truly his wife. He gulped down and proceeded to read the new message his wife sent to Mr. Scott.
Kyla: [Babe, which of these pants do you prefer I should meet you at the hotel tonight with?]
Marshall's eyes widened in shock, and his heart shattered.
He viewed the picture she sent, and he nearly fainted. He saw his wife with a bare body, putting on only G-string pants.
He immediately remembered the day Kyla visited him in the company for an emergency some months ago.
"So Mr. Scott and Kyla exchanged phone numbers on that day?" he wondered, scrolling up to the older messages. However, he came across a nude video of his wife fondling her breast and rubbing her clit, as Mr. Scott requested.
There is no doubt that this must have been the video Mr. Scott was watching and letting out that flirtatious smile.
"How could Kyla do such a thing to me, despite all I've done for her? I always make sure I provide her with all I can," he whimpered.
Just as he was still reading the older messages, Mr. Scott walked in.
"What is going on here? You're operating my computer, Marshall?" he asked.
Marshall raised his gaze toward him with anger burning in him.
"Mr. Scott, what affair do you have with my wife?" he asked.
"Oh, you went to check my chats? Well, that serves you, right? I love cheating with the wives of people like you who have no power to defend themselves," he chuckled.
"Mr. Scott, enough! I know you're superior to me in this company, but I won't tolerate you messing with my rights," Marshall said, gritting his teeth.
"Oh, rights? What rights do you have when you can't even provide for your wife, which warrants her to stoop so low in sleeping with every reputable businessman just to get a connection from them?"
Marshall felt really embarrassed. How did Mr. Scott know about this? And who told him he does not provide for his wife despite being richer than him? It was this issue that warranted his mother-in-law throwing a divorce paper at him to sign, saying he was not qualified to tell Kyla how to live her life when he was of no level to her status.
Marshall's gaze furrowed so hard that they knitted together. "Mr. Scott, enough of the insults. I will tolerate this just for one reason. Let me meet Kyla first, and..."
Marshall was interrupted by the opening sound of the door. He glanced toward it and saw Kyla entering.
"Kyla, what are you here for? I didn't invite you to come..."
"Oh, don't be surprised, Marshall. I didn't come because of you. I'm just here to see him. I don't even assume you'll be here, but it's okay," Kyla responded.
"Oh really? So what I saw on the chat was true, Kyla. You're cheating on me."
"And what do you have to do about it? You're so useless and can't get me to the level I want in my business," Kyla replied.
"Useless? Am I useless when I was even the brain behind your growth? Am I useless when I would wake up in the middle of the night to prepare food for you and your family, wash your clothes, and travel for miles with my bicycles just to get you your favourite flowers from the countryside?" Marshall was pained.
Hearing this, Mr. Scott laughed sarcastically. "Being just loyal isn't a sign of being useful, man," he chipped in.
"Kyla...."
"Enough!" she interrupted Marshall. "Do you think I would have married you if I met you in this condition?" she questioned. "You failed in your business and think you can have me all alone, ptf!" She spat on Marshall's face and uttered, "You lie."
Marshall was pained upon witnessing this, but he tried to calm himself from exhibiting the deadly aura in him.
"Look at Mr. Scott. He's your age mate, or you might even be older than him, but he has a lot of properties and cars, which you can never afford in the next fifteen years no matter how hard you struggle," she said, caressing Mr. Scott on his beards.
"Kyla, if not for you and your family, would I be in this condition? I trained you in college from scratch until you graduated. Shortly after you graduated, your father became ill and was required to go under surgery. He did, and I paid the bills. Have you forgotten? Why are you so ungrateful?" Marshall questioned, his heart throbbing in pain as he remembered the memories.
His eyes were damped with fluids, as the pain was unbearable for him. However, he tried to retain the tears. He doesn't have to cry just because of a woman.
"Even though I don't earn pretty well these days, I still care for you. Am I not trying? Am I not contributing to the food we eat in the house?"
Kyla smiled wryly and sighed. "Yes, you did, and so what? Are you the first to train a lady in college? Anyway, long story short, we're getting divorced, and you're going to sign the divorce papers when you return," she said, removing the ring from her finger and throwing it at Marshall.
"Kyla, what has come over you? Are you leaving me for Mr. Scott?" Marshall yelled.
"Of course, Marshall. At least by being with him, I'll upgrade my business," Kyla responded.
"Can't you see sense in what she's saying, Marshall? Get a life before seeking marriage," Mr. Scott chimed in.
"Mr. Scott, don't ever interfere in my marriage issue. Otherwise, I'll deal with you," Marshall warned.
"Said the one who can't provide for his wife. You can't do anything, Marshall. Try me and see if you won't rot in jail," he threatened.
This infuriated Marshall, and he lashed heavily at him. He punched Scott several times until Kyla started screaming.
Her screaming alarmed four strong-bodied men who were security personnel in the company. As they entered the office, they pounced on Marshall.
"What are you doing?" one of the security guards asked, followed by a hot slap on Marshall's cheek.
They dragged him away from Mr. Scott and chained him.
"Get him properly punished! This idiot dared lay his hand on me," Scott managed to say, breathing heavily.
The security men dragged Marshall out of the office while beating him along the way. However, Marshall tried to fight back, but he was already chained.

"You're mine, little puppy," Kylan growled against my neck. A soft gasp escaped my lips as his lips brushed my skin. My mind screamed at me to push him away-the Lycan Prince who had humiliated me again and again, but my body betrayed me, leaning into him before I could stop myself. He pressed his lips against mine, and his kiss grew more aggressive, more possessive as I felt my legs weaken. What was I doing? In a split-second, I pulled away and slapped him hard across the face. Kylan's eyes darkened, but the smirk on his lips exposed his amusement. "You and I both know we can't fight this, Violet," he said, gripping my wrist. "You're my mate." "And yet you don't want me," I replied. "You told me you were ashamed of me, that l'd never be your queen, that you'd never love me. So please, accept my rejection and let me go." "Never," he whispered, his grip tightening as he pulled me closer. "Soon enough, you'll be begging for me. and when you do-I'll use you as I see fit and then I'll reject you."
After Martina Martinez and Benjamin Walker's breakup, paparazzi captured photos of the business tycoon entering the Walker family mansion with a mysterious woman late at night. This caused a stir, and this wealthy family was bombarded by various media outlets. During a phone interview, the gossip reporter asked, "Miss Martinez, how do you feel now that Mr. Walker has a new girlfriend?" Martina held her painful forehead and looked towards Benjamin, who was adjusting his suit by the floor-to-ceiling window. He gestured for her to come over and help him with his tie. Holding her phone, Martina responded, "It's... complicated!" The reporter's heart leaped with joy and asked, "Is it heartbroken?!" Martina was about to nod, but Benjamin raised his eyebrows and took her phone away. His deep and alluring voice was heard on the other end of the line, "New girlfriend? Whose?"
