Reborn, I found myself tied in the center of a ring of fire. The fake young lady stood in front of me, drawing strange symbols. With malicious intent, she said, "From today on, your life and your wonderful husband will belong to me." Upon hearing this, I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. The fake young lady thought I was scared and laughed triumphantly. However, she didn't know. I wasn't scared; I was actually happy.

Chapter 1

Reborn, I found myself bound at the center of a roaring circle of flames.

The impostor that impersonated me stood before me, drawing strange symbols.

With malice, she declared, "From now on, your life and your wonderful husband are mine."

Her words filled me with a surge of excitement.

She thought I was afraid, laughing triumphantly.

Little did she know, it wasn't fear but joy that I felt.

As I, Jennifer Reynolds, fell from the cliff, Roderick Reynolds's smile lingered in my mind.

His smile was filled with cruelty and triumph.

After my death, everything in the Carter's Group would be his.

Because he was my husband.

Because he had already caused my parents' deaths.

Darkness swallowed me in an instant.

I died.

But unexpectedly, in a blink, light returned before my eyes.

A roaring circle of flames surrounded me.

Lily Carter stood in front of me, muttering something while drawing peculiar symbols on the ground.

I felt disoriented.

Lily turned around, the firelight casting shadows on her face.

"You're awake?" she asked.

I tried to get up, only to find my feet tightly bound.

Lily held a small bowl, slowly approaching me.

She splashed its contents towards me, and I was immediately hit by the strong scent of blood.

"Jennifer," she said, her eyes was reflected with dancing flames, "from today, your life, your husband, will be mine."

I frowned, "What are you planning?"

Lily laughed, dripping with malice.

"I want to swap lives with you."

I was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter.

I vaguely realized I had been reborn.

If what Lily wanted was Roderick, I was more than happy to oblige.

Lily saw me trembling, likely thinking it was from fear.

She laughed triumphantly.

The flames of the fire circle leapt up with her laughter, enclosing us within.

2

Indeed, I had been reborn.

But before I could think of how to take revenge on Roderick, Lily used some strange magic to swap our bodies.

Now, I had become Lily, and she had become me, Jennifer.

I touched Lily's face in the mirror, recalling the past life.

Lily and I had been switched mistakenly at the hospital, leading to our lives being exchanged.

I never expected Lily would want my life.

What did this mean?

It meant she, like me, had been reborn.

But she probably didn't know that my past life wasn't worth taking.

It was because my charming and talented husband, Roderick, was actually a cunning and deceitful wolf.

When I was found and brought back to the Carter family, Roderick set his sights on me.

While Lily, using her advantage of growing up in the Carter family, schemed against me, Roderick extended a helping hand to the isolated me.

At that time, despite Lily's relentless bullying and exclusion, he always stood by my side.

Together, we thwarted Lily's countless plots and eventually drove her out of the Carter family.

However, Roderick's true, ugly nature soon revealed itself.

He was with me only to gain control of the Carter's Group and all its resources.

Roderick orchestrated a car accident that killed my parents, and then, under the guise of a trip, took me to Ruthless Cliff and pushed me off the top.

Ruthless Cliff.

What an apt name.

"Knock, knock, knock... " The sound of knocking on the door came.

I turned to see myself entering through the door.

Lily smiled smugly, "Oh, you're using my body like that?"

I met her gaze, "Don't you regret this?"

"Regret? Regret what?" Lily twirled her hair nonchalantly.

"Regret swapping with me." I said.

"If I regretted it, I wouldn't have swapped with you."

Lily looked at me, mocking, "Even though I don't like you, you're the true daughter of the Carter family, and you have such an excellent husband. I'll reluctantly accept this body."

She was truly shameless.

I clenched my fists, "Then don't regret it."

"Absolutely not." She turned to leave and said, "Oh, by the way, there's a welcome party at home tonight. If you don't want to attend, that's for the best."

I watched her back disappear from view, sneering.

Lily probably didn't know I was also reborn.

The party at home tonight was very important to me.

As night fell, the lawn of the Carter family villa sparkled with lights as brilliant as a starry night.

Guests, attended by waiters, gathered in small groups, either exchanging pleasantries or engaging in lively conversation.

I donned a black evening gown and slowly descended the stairs.

There were guests in the living room as well.

My parents were speaking with two young gentlemen.

My gaze fell on one of them, and a deep hatred surged within me.

It was Roderick.

We met again.

He wore a silver-gray suit, gold-rimmed glasses, looking impeccably dressed and every bit the gentleman.

My mother saw me and smiled, "Lily, come here!"

I swallowed my seething hatred and anger, slowly walking towards them.

Roderick looked at me with a polite smile.

I said in my mind that who would dare to believe this man was just a wolf in sheep's clothing-a deceptive person who appeared harmless.

At that moment, I felt another gaze, sharp and scrutinizing.

Instinctively, I turned and met the eyes of the man standing next to Roderick.

It was him.

Andrew Burgess, the head of the top luxury family in San Franueva.

He was also the target of me at today's banquet.

But I was puzzled.

Why were Roderick and Andrew standing together?

They seemed quite familiar with each other.

My mother tugged at my arm, prompting me to greet Roderick and Andrew.

I exchanged pleasantries with them, and they responded with equally polite smiles.

I could tell that Roderick wasn't interested in me, "Lily."

Andrew, however, revealed no emotion.

Aside from the initial scrutiny, his handsome and dignified face showed no further expression.

Roderick smiled and said, "Mr. Carter and Mrs. Carter are truly blessed to have two outstanding and beautiful daughters now."

My parents beamed with delight at his words.

My mother chuckled, patting my arm with a smile, saying, "Yes, I never expected it! I'm really lucky."

Since Roderick mentioned the two daughters, my mother naturally thought of "Jennifer."

She looked at me, "Oh, right, where's your sister? Why didn't she come down with you?"

I smiled, "It's her first time meeting everyone, so she's probably preparing carefully."

My mother thought for a moment and agreed.

Today's welcome banquet was to publicly introduce "Jennifer" as a daughter of the Carter family.

Just then, "Jennifer" appeared.

I looked at my body dressed in a silver-white gown and frowned.

Lily certainly had good taste, but her style was completely different from mine.

Lily's delicate and innocent look suited such pure colors, making her appear naive and innocent.

But I had distinctive facial features, and I've had thick eyebrows since I was a kid.

Wearing such colors only made "Jennifer" look clumsy.

My mother's face immediately darkened.

Lily approached us with a cheerful smile, "Mom, look, this is the dress my sister picked for me, isn't it beautiful?"

I couldn't help but twitch my lips.

So, Lily chose such an unsuitable dress for my body to "set me up."

She was a real bitch.

I mimicked her, feigning grievance, "Sister, I didn't help you pick out a dress!"

My mother heard what I said and looked at me. After all, I was the daughter she has raised for so many years.

Emotionally, she trusted "Lily" more.

She immediately told "Jennifer, " "Don't choose this color in the future; it doesn't suit you."

She was truly merciless.

And the eyes of "Jennifer" brimmed with tears.

Roderick quickly chimed in with a smile, "Oh, Mrs. Carter, I actually think Miss Lily looks great in this dress."

"Really?" "Jennifer" widened her eyes, playing the damsel in distress as she looked pitifully at Roderick.

I watched Lily use my face to play the innocent act.

I couldn't bear to look.

I even doubted if my decision to live using Lily's body was the right one.

Perhaps I should find a way to switch back to my own body.

"Of course!" Roderick affirmed, "Andrew, what do you think?"

Andrew replied indifferently, "Personal aesthetics differ; don't drag me into this."

Lily looked at Roderick and smiled gently, "Thank you for the compliment."

"Jennifer, you and Lily should help entertain Roderick and Andrew."

With new guests arriving, my father and mother went to greet them.

"Okay, Dad, Mom, don't worry, " "Jennifer" quickly said.

After my parents left, Roderick asked "Jennifer, " "Could you show me around? I've heard your garden is quite impressive."

The eyes of "Jennifer" sparkled, "Of course, Roderick, this way."

I watched her lead Roderick out of the villa, hesitating for a few seconds.

Well, it was not a private place.

No need to worry.

"You're quite interesting."

Andrew's voice sounded softly in my ear.

I turned to find him still standing beside me.

Did he just say I was interesting?

"Why do you say I'm interesting?"

Andrew thought for a moment, "Perhaps I should say, you and Lily are both interesting."

I was stunned.

Seeing my surprised expression, Andrew's lips curled into a slight smile, "Did I say something wrong?"

No, he just said, you and Lily.

But I was "Lily" now.

"Mr. Burgess, you must be mistaken. I am exactly Lily, " I corrected.

Andrew looked at me meaningfully, "Is that so?"

I was about to nod in agreement when everything suddenly went dark.

"Are you okay?"

A pair of hands steadied me.

I opened my eyes to see Roderick's concerned gaze.

I pushed him away abruptly, stepping back repeatedly.

Then I realized I was no longer in the villa, surrounded by flowers and trees, a faint fragrance lingered.

I raised my hand and saw the scar on my palm, a remnant of my mischievous childhood.
