"...Even after everything I do to you, you still want me?" he asked, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "More than you can imagine," I replied, breathless. His hand slid up my body, pausing at the back of my neck. He pulled me closer, his voice a low growl. "You do know what that means, right?" I stiffened, my heart racing. I was his pet, after all. ~Rose
As I rummaged through the pile of documents scattered before me, my eyes were wide with shock and I could hear my heart pounding so hard against my ribs.
How should I confront Grey about this discovery? Does Grey know about the things the family had done? I need to get to him as soon as possible now.
My mind was in shambles at this point, even my haggard clothes of plain sweat pants and sweater, was a stark revelation of just how disorganized I was at that point.
It's getting late now, the moon had already taken its place in the sky, and I couldn't even find the key to my car. I was so confused at that point and couldn't even think straight anymore.
"Bella please, can you lock the door when I'm out?" I asked Bella, as I hurriedly made my way to the door.
"What's the nightlife plan, my friend?" Bella asked with excitement, thinking probably that I was going for a night outing, just as we normally did every Friday night.
Unknown to her, I had bigger problems to deal with at that point.
"I have to get to Grey as soon as possible Bella, I need to talk with him about something very important about his family. " I threw over my shoulder,
"Rose wait-" I heard Bella yell after me.
But I had already closed the door, drowning out her voice and heading to my car as I sped off to confront Grey.
Does he really not know about this? Or is he keeping it as the secret of his family? What would have made him keep such a thing from me if he knew? I really hope he does tell me his reasons why he has been keeping such a secret from me, when he knows what we both share.
As I sat there in my car, overlooking the school, my heart suddenly skipped a beat. A chill ran down my spine, and my skin prickled with goosebumps. My mind became even more jumbled and messy, racing with thoughts and clouded with emotions.
Fear, like a thief in the night, had crept up on me, stealing my breath and my composure.
I got out of my car, and looked to my side to see that his identical black Bugatti divo was also parked in the school's driveway.
I close my eyes and take in a deep breath, clutching onto the documents like my life depended on it. Well, as it is now, our relationship did, I smiled.
I was battling with my thoughts when I walk passed the passageway in the building, heading to his room at the second floor, with each step I took, my trepidation and uneasiness increased
Unknown to me, what I was about to discover will be the most excruciating moment of my life that will change everything about what I believe and trust.
I walked closer to his door and waited to catch my breath before handling the matter at hand. As I placed my hand over the door knob and pushed the door open a little, I perceived something strange coming from inside the room, like a whiff of a woman's perfume dancing leisurely under my nostrils, taunting me, with muffled tones in the background.
I quickly opened the door in apprehension of the situation, only to see my fiance, Grey, with a beautiful voluptuous blonde haired lady, possessing an hourglass shape with azure eyes, in the same bed with my fiance clasping her both hands round Grey and sucking on his lips.
As my eyes darted around the room, I could see that the room was decorated with flowers and blue light flickered from a small scented candle placed on the bed side table. She fit perfectly in Grey's muscular arms and her body was clasped on his bare body, like a symphony.
As I stood at the entrance of the room, I could not believe what I was seeing right in front of me.
Was this really happening or was I dreaming? At that point, I couldn't explain how I felt. My whole body felt numb. Everything I prepared to say to him had vanished like a thick smoke from my mind and evaporated into nothingness.
He was right on the lady's body, having a nice romantic time without knowing at first that someone- I had entered the apartment.
I stood for some minutes, unable to move, speak, or even cry. It was until the documents I was holding fell from my hand that they realized that someone was with them.
They both turned to me and as soon as my eyes landed on the blonde lady, it felt as though the air was sucked from my lungs, and tears rolled down my face, leaving me gasping for breath.
"Beth? You?" I asked, my breath labored and my words coming out in short gasps
My mind reeled, struggling to process the betrayal that lay before me at the moment.
"Wait, baby, I can explain." He tried to say and reach out to me but at that point even his touch burned like a hot iron on my skin.
I was no longer interested in what I came to discuss as all the information had vanished. Seeing how relaxed and unremorseful Beth was with him, was what broke me the most.
"Out of everyone, you chose to betray me with this wench?" I asked him as my face stained with the tears that fell profusely from my eyes.
My fiance, the man I loved the most and trusted out of everyone else in my arms, was wrapped in the arms of another woman, a woman I hated with all my being. The image seared itself into my small brain, immediately, I felt a branding iron of sharp pain slice through my head and my heart which was pounding fast against my ribs.
Physically, I felt numb, as though my body had been encased in a layer of ice. My legs trembled beneath me, threatening to give way at any moment. I felt a cold sweat break out across my skin.
The look of shock and fear was etched deeply in his face, as he quickly stretched his hand to the direction of his clothes.
"I know what this looks like, but it's not what you think," he said, his eyes looking directly to my face as he put his clothes on quickly.
He paused, scanning for the right words to extricate the situation, "I know I've hurt you, and for that, I'm truly sorry. But please, we have gone a long way together, don't let one mistake define our entire relationship. We've built something beautiful together, and I don't want to lose it and you."
As the reality of the situation sank in, I felt a wave of grief wash over me. I mourned the loss of the perfect life and home we both planned together, the future we dreamed of. I grieved for the love we have shared till now.
I was lost for words. I watched as Beth slowly arranged her bag, and she gradually put on her cocktail dress right in front of me, with the stilettos on her legs.
An unremorseful and unapologetic look danced across her face.
She turned to Grey, "call me baby when you're-" she paused, turned to me and looked condescendingly at me,
"-done with her." She finished and turned to the door.
I could not do anything but to stand and watch her walk majestically to the door as she opened it and left, the sound of her heels, resounding through the hallway as she walked in victory.
The look in her eyes was sinister and unsettling, it was a slow-burning fire that seemed to sear my very soul.
At that moment, I felt broken into a million pieces. I didn't know how I would ever be able to put the pieces back together again.
I turned to Grey who was now standing in front of me,
"How could you do this to me? I thought our love was stronger than this. You've broken my trust and left me with nothing, I don't know if I can ever forgive you for breaking me this way."
"I know I've made a terrible mistake, and I'm deeply sorry for hurting you. You deserve so much better, and I promise to do everything in my power to regain your trust. I love you more than anything and anyone in this life, and I'm willing to do the work to heal and rebuild our relationship. If you will please find it in your heart to forgive me and give me another chance to amend every damage I have caused." He begged.
But that all felt like lies to me because how could you cheat on me with my arch nemesis and beg me to take you back just like that, so easily.
Unable to deal with it anymore, I turned towards the door without saying anything else, he tried to hold my hand which would have been a very big mistake, but I quickly walked out the door leaving him with no intention of coming back ever again.
But what happened that very night was unbelievable, I didn't see it coming, I never can tell the future. The experience I encountered some hours later, changed every single moment of my life and it had me thinking, would everything have been different if I didn't walk away from his betrayal and his life.
