"They took me away from you, Lolita. Seek for justice and avenge my death."
Fear gripped her at first, but she summoned courage to speak.
"They took you away from me, Dad. I promise to make them pay. I'll make sure they all pay for your death."
Father's spirit is soft but firm:
"Lolita.... Justice, not vengeance. Don't let your anger consume you."
Lolita shakes her head as tears drop to her chest.
"They destroyed our family and left me with no one. " Don't ask me to forgive them, I'm doing this for you, for us dad."
The father's spirit saw the broken heart and pain that grew around her. The father's spirit inhabited Lolita's body for justice and revenge.
Lolita speaks within her as she is being manipulated by her father's spirit living in her.
"Time to bring the mighty Frederick family to their knees."
Lolita arrives at Frederick's mansion, seeking a healthcare job, with her suitcase in hand. The magnificence of the place is intimidating.
Jacobs abrupt:
"Miss Alina, I presume?"
Lolita smiled and turned towards Jacobs, the security guard.
"No, I am Lolita.
Jacobs' apologies.
"Sorry, miss Lolita. Mr. Frederick has instructed me to show you to Mrs. Julia Frederick's apartment. Come with me."
Lolita nods, keeping her expression neutral, while her eyes scan the surroundings intently. Inside, everywhere looks adorable and perfect for a billionaire of Dickson's status.
Lolita talks to herself in a low tone.
"All this wealth gathered was bent on lies and blood shade."
Jacobs led her to Julia Frederick where she was lying on her bed, frail and pale. Julia's icy blue eyes meet Lolita's as she smiles gently and says to Lolita.
"You are?"
She pulsed and continued
"The new caregiver, right ?"
Lolita smiled softly.
"Yes"
Julia stretched towards her.
"What's your name again?"
Warmly Lolita replied.
"Lolita, Mrs. Frederick. " It's an honor to take care of you and work for your humble and well-respected family."
Julia softly
"Honor.... There's little honor in taking care of someone like me."
Lolita gently
"Mrs Julia, you deserve more, everyone deserves kindness, and you are not an exception."
Julia took some minutes to look at Lolita, trying to see if she could psychologically figure out any strange things about her.
"Well, the madness in this house is crazy. I hope you can deal with it. It tends to devour people."
Lolita tries to hide her reaction, her heart beats fast at the enigmatic comment. Before she could say a word, the door opened. It was Dickson Fredrick that entered.
Dickson's striking figure dominates the room. He's tall, broad-shouldered, he commands a lot of authority. His piercing gaze lands on Lolita, making her feel like prey under a predator's watch.
"So, you're the one the agency sent to take care of my wife."
Lolita adjusted, meeting his gaze without being shy, as she replied.
"Yes, Mr. Dickson. I've been appointed by my agency to assist Mrs. Julia recover. And I hope she does."
Dickson looked at her closely.
"Young... and intelligent. But I don't think you have the required experience to take care of my wife?"
Calmly she replied,
"I've worked in private care since I was 19. I can provide proof if you don't mind."
Dickson narrows his eyes, stepping closer towards Lolita and sounds with authority.
"I don't need your proof or whatever, my wife's well-being is your only priority. And know this, you have no other business here outside her well-being. Get that straight into your head. Understood?"
Lolita looks scared but tries her best to conduct herself.
"Yeah! It's very clear, Mr. Frederick."
Dickson looked at Lolita with a more suspicious look, nodding his head and blinking his eyes serially.
"You look very much like someone. Can't place it, but I am sure of this."
Lolita feels a coldness run down her spine but forces a polite smile as she tries to maintain her composure.
"I doubt we've met before. Outside now sir"
He looked at her longer in a moment, and ended up turning towards Julia.
"I'll leave you both to become familiar. " Don't over-strain yourself, Julia."
Dickson leaves the room, and the tension in the room is lessened. Julia looked at Lolita with a faint smile on her face.
"You handled him well. He has such a difficult personality. Most people crumble under his glare."
Lolita politely
"I've been in more difficult situations, and I've dealt with difficult people before now, so it isn't a problem."
Julia held her hand
"Well, you'll need that special skill here. This house... It has a way of frustrating people. I pray you can adapt."
Lolita was shown to her room. She settles into her modest room in the servants' quarters. She pulls out a notebook filled with texts and cryptics about her father's death and Frederick's. Lolita laughs silently as she musters some words.
"So Dickson doesn't recognize me. That's perfect. But I need to be careful. One single mistake, and it's over. I can't get the chance of taking revenge on my late father."
Lolita looked closely at the picture in the notebook. It was herself and her handsome father. Tears rolled out of her eyes.
"If I don't get justice for my dad, I will see myself as a failure. Dad, let your restless spirit guide me."
A strange knock on her door. It startles her. Immediately she hides the notebook under her pillow, wipes her tears and opens the door. It was a handsome and good-looking young man standing in front of her door.
"You should be Lolita the care worker. I'm Reinhard Fredrick. I got back home and my mother told me she hired you today and I think it's right to say hi to you."
Lolita with a smile
"That is thoughtful of you. You have such a kind personality and I love your simplicity. I think you got me on this".
Reinhard leans casually against the door frame, his warm smile sets Lolita off balance. He's tall, with an easy charm that looks the opposite of his father's estrangement.
"I'm sorry to invade your privacy. I just wanted to welcome you and make you feel relaxed."
Lolita smiled gently.
"Thank you, sir..."
Playfully Reinhard said.
"Call me Reinhard. 'Sir' makes it sound like you are addressing my father, and my father can be aggressive and hope you can survive his madness."
Lolita was caught by Reinhard's simplicity and was emotionally ready to go down to another level with Reinhard's hospitality, but her father's spirit inhabited her at that moment, reminding her of her mission.
"Well, thank you, Reinhard. I will survive it"
Reinhard lustfully and gave Lolita a friendly smile.
"Good luck. You'll need it."
He turns to leave but pauses, taking a second look at her.
"Everything is moving very fast, the way my heart is ready to accept you. To me, it looks as if we have met before... you look familiar."
Lolita's breath deeply, but she quickly shakes her head.
"I don't think so. I have not been around this environment before, it must be a coincidence. Or... your heart is beginning to like me."
Reinhard looks surprised.
"Yeah, you are right but hopefully yours does too."
Reinhard nods, As he walks away, Lolita closes the door and leans against it, her heart pounding.
It took Lolita days to settle down and get familiar with everyone outside Dickson. On the 4th night Lolita explores the mansion under the cover of darkness. She sneaks into Julia's room, drawn to a small box on the bedside table. Surprisely to Lolita, she finds an old photograph-a picture of Julia and her father, kissing each other.
Lolita felt shock and surprise
"So it's true..."
Her eyes moved on a handwritten note hidden behind the photo. She pulls it out and begins to read, but the sound of footsteps ap
proaching makes her stand still. The door creaks open, and a shadow falls over her. Lolita hides the note behind her back as a voice cuts through the silence.
"What are you doing here?"
