In math class, Huai Mo was absent-mindedly counting the birds flying outside the window, her pencil mindlessly doodling on the exercise book. The teacher pointed at the inverse function on the blackboard: "Students, you must remember that hyperbolas and the coordinate axes can get infinitely close, but they can never intersect." With a snap, the pencil broke, and Huai Mo turned to look at the blackboard. There, the hyperbola made an effort to bend itself towards the coordinate axes, but the axes remained indifferent. "Heh... it really reminds me of me and He Yongqi..."
Cara White first noticed Connor Reid not because he was a quirky school idol, but instead of pretending not to hear or smell it, he pointed at her and laughed so hard he couldn't straighten up when she let out a rather loud and unexpected fart right in front of him.
Cara swore it was the most embarrassing and unspeakable moment of her freshman year, as she had always been seen as a prim and fair lady in everyone's eyes.
Entering the best high school with the highest score in the city, she was the model student in the teachers' eyes and a role model for her classmates.
This role model wasn't much of a talker, always smiling gently at her classmates in the classroom. She had successfully established her ladylike image after several weeks, only to have it shattered on that cloudy, thunderous afternoon...
During class, Cara had been holding in a fart, and as the dismissing bell rang, she dashed into the hallway to let it all out. So focused was she that she didn't notice the boy behind pinching his nose and stifling his laughter.
Connor, barely containing his laughter, said, "How can a girl like you make such a loud noise?"
Hearing this, Cara froze for a few seconds before retorting, "What noise? That was thunder."
Right on cue, thunder rumbled, sounding like the grumbling of a wronged girl. The boy couldn't hold back any longer, and his laughter echoed down the hallway, "This thunder even has a smell, hahaha..."
Cara thought this guy was particularly asking for a punch.
So, her small fist landed squarely on his nose. "Screw you!"
The bustling hallway fell silent in an instant. Everyone looked at each other and then scattered, shouting, "Jesus! Cara hit Connor! Cara hit Connor right at his nose!"
The image of the virtuous lady of her was utterly ruined.
Connor saw Cara again a week later.
The sky, which had been gloomy for a long time, finally cleared, leaving only a few scattered clouds drifting leisurely.
Cara lay flat on the soft green grass, counting clouds and drifting into sleep, a line of saliva slowly trickling from her slightly open mouth.
Connor, feeling mischievous again, was about to take a sneaky photo with their phone. Unfortunately, his necklace fell as he bent over, landing right into the Cara's open mouth directly.
As she inhaled, Cara turned bright red, choking.
He expected her little fist to come swinging at him again, but instead, her sleepy eyes suddenly lit up with a mischievous glint.
Her voice, soft as a sponge soaked in water, sweetly called out to someone behind him, "Leon, is that you?"
