Ivy's husband divorced her because she was poor but seven days after her Divorce, she becomes the Richest woman in the whole world but kept her identity a secret to exact her revenge on her Ex-husband!
Many people say that Revenge is best Served Hot but I believe that Revenge is best Served Cold. I've never been this hungry for revenge in my life but this time around, I will do everything to quench my thirst for Vengeance!
My name is IVY MOORE and this is my story.
***********
"Congratulations, Mrs Steel, you're three weeks pregnant with a baby boy!"
The doctor said to me while handing the results of the pregnancy test. I pulled out a smile after hearing the doctor's previous words.
I'm finally PREGNANT! I couldn't stop my joy as I opened the results sheet to recheck if the doctor was right and it was positive. I'm indeed pregnant. Today is my fifth wedding anniversary with Lysander Steel, the CEO of Steel's Group. I've previously planned to throw a celebration for our wedding anniversary but seems like another celebration will be added to that- My unborn child!
I was still lost in thoughts and imaginations when the Doctor's words came up
"I must say that this baby was a Miracle but you've to take care of him with everything you have. Mind you, you must stay away from anything transfusion or any surgical activities as it may jeopardize the health of your unborn child and chances of becoming pregnant again are slim!"
"I understood, Mrs Karen. This baby came unexpectedly and at the best time. I will never do anything to hurt or jeopardize his health" I said to Mrs. Karen, our family doctor, and she nodded before checking her files for something.
She has been the backbone of my marriage with Lysander for the past five years. She has been the one advising him not to be so impatient with a child as I may have one someday. She's one of the people who brought my marriage to this extent, otherwise, it'd have collapsed a long time ago.
Standing up with a smile, I hugged Mrs Karen "Thank you so much, Doc. You've been so supportive in this marriage. I'm forever grateful for that"
"It's nothing, Mrs Steel! I pray Lysander changes his ways after this news and starts considering you as his wife especially now that Old Mrs Sylvie is GONE"
Mrs. Karen's words changed my mood, but I forced a smile to hide my true feelings. "I'll be on my way now, Doc!"
I wasted no time in entering the car while clutching the Pregnancy report very tight. "Take us to Santiago Villa," I said to my driver who responded, "Okay, ma'am!" Before taking off.
Staring at the pregnancy report continuously, I was lost in so many thoughts. These thoughts took my attention five years back when I abandoned everything I had- my family, friends, business... And moved into Bluesky City to find a new hope.
This was when I met a very generous woman whom I helped escape from some criminals. Her name was Mrs Sylvie Steel. We grew fond of each other as she always visited Cameil and me whenever she came shopping at the mall where I used to work.
Then came that beautiful night she asked me to visit her in her mansion to discuss a very important thing. A very important thing which ended up as a night of marriage proposal! She asked me to become her daughter-in-law by marrying her Grandson, Lysander Steel.
I strongly refused her proposal believing that it's improper to be in a marriage with someone you barely know. Old Mrs Sylvie took me to the hospital to see her son's critical condition- he was in a coma and had been there for three weeks now. Her reason was for me to marry her son and bear him a child through ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION.
She pleaded for me to do this and assured me that I would receive whatever I wanted in this marriage as long as she was alive.
I believe in love at first sight and seeing the handsome man lying unconscious in a coma, I'd do this for him. I signed the necessary documents and the procedure began!
But the worst happened when the insemination procedure damaged my womb and the doctor confirmed I'll never bear children! Not long had this happened Lysander recovered and found me as his wife!
No matter how hard it was for him, we lived as a couple but never slept on the same bed.
Today marks our fifth Year in this marriage but at the same time, today marks the second week we lost Old Mrs Sylvie.
I sniffed and folded the pregnancy report. Immediately after that, a text entered my phone. Just when I was about to read it, my phone started ringing. It was Lysander on the call! If he was calling me right now, it means he's back from Nightwind.
That lost smile appeared on my face once again seeing the man I LOVE on the phone!
"Hello!..."
"Ivy, come to Santiago Villa. I have some news to share with you!" Lysander said immediately after me leaving me at the edge of my seat. Why did he sound like that? His voice was so cold and thicker than ever. Indeed, Lysander has never sounded friendly to me but today's own was worst.
"Mr. Jakub, please drive faster!" I said while my heart continued beating faster. What news does he have for me and why did he sound like that? I chatted with him yesterday to inform him of the location we'd be celebrating our marriage anniversary but he didn't respond even after viewing it. So, I ought not to be surprised to see him in that same location waiting for me.
Whatever Lysander has for me, I don't know, but should I be expecting a present from a Man who doesn't give me attention? Should I be expecting a present from a man who made me swear never to call him my husband in public space?
It is true that the only thing that bonds Lysander and I are GOOD MORNING AND GOODNIGHT. At times, he doesn't even eat the food I made for him... In as much as I am managing this marriage, I still won't give up on us because I love Lysander.
Although he doesn't Love me, I'll stay to fulfil the promise I made to Old Mrs Sylvie that I will bear her son a Child- to become the best wife and also a good mother to his children.
So, I'm keeping the faith that whatever reason Lysander asked me to meet him would be for good and not for bad...
"Here we are, Ma!" Jakub said after halting before the most luxurious suite in Bluesky owned by The Moores!
Immediately I came down from the car, a waiter approached me with a smile. "He said I should bring you..." I nodded "Okay, let's go!" And we walked straight to the booked VIP lounge where I had decorated beautifully for us.
Arriving there, the waiter turned back after seeing a man facing the walls. His behind was familiar so was his figure. It seemed as though I knew him.... He is tall, physically muscled and has straight legs. His hair was long but shaved stylishly... Wait, Is he not Lysander?
The man who previously faced the wall turned to me with an authoritative face, he is Lysander! He was holding something in his left hand while his right hand was fixed in his pocket
"You're here, Lysan..."
"No need for that, Ivy! I came here with a motive and I don't have enough time to waste around here!" Lysander cut me off, his voice as cruel as usual- No atom of joy in his words and voice.
"What... What do you mean by that?" I said, my voice cracking intense. He stared at me for a while as if I had said something that annoyed him.
"Take a look at this, Ivy" He handed the files he was holding to me. My eyes refused to escape from him while clutching the papers softly. What could this paper entail?
"Go on! What are you waiting for?" His voice echoed, startling me. I swallowed some spits and looked at Lysander one last time before opening the file. The first thing I saw as the heading was DIVORCE AGREEMENT BETWEEN... I didn't wait to complete the words when I chuckled heavily
"Divorce papers?"
For three years, Cathryn and her husband Liam lived in a sexless marriage. She believed Liam buried himself in work for their future. But on the day her mother died, she learned the truth: he had been cheating with her stepsister since their wedding night. She dropped every hope and filed for divorce. Sneers followed-she'd crawl back, they said. Instead, they saw Liam on his knees in the rain. When a reporter asked about a reunion, she shrugged. "He has no self-respect, just clings to people who don't love him." A powerful tycoon wrapped an arm around her. "Anyone coveting my wife answers to me."
Since she was ten, Noreen had been by Caiden's side, watching him rise from a young boy into a respected CEO. After two years of marriage, though, his visits home grew rare. Gossip among the wealthy said he despised her. Even his beloved mocked her hopes, and his circle treated her with scorn. People forgot about her decade of loyalty. She clung to memories and became a figure of ridicule, worn out from trying. They thought he'd won his freedom, but he dropped to his knees and begged, "Noreen, you're the only one I love." Leaving behind the divorce papers, she walked away.
Corinne devoted three years of her life to her boyfriend, only for it to all go to waste. He saw her as nothing more than a country bumpkin and left her at the altar to be with his true love. After getting jilted, Corinne reclaimed her identity as the granddaughter of the town's richest man, inherited a billion-dollar fortune, and ultimately rose to the top. But her success attracted the envy of others, and people constantly tried to bring her down. As she dealt with these troublemakers one by one, Mr. Hopkins, notorious for his ruthlessness, stood by and cheered her on. "Way to go, honey!"
I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.
For three years, Natalie gave everything to be the perfect wife and mother, believing her love and effort could finally earn her a place in their hearts. Yet her sacrifices were met with betrayal from her husband and cold rejection from her son. In their eyes, she was nothing but a manipulator, using vulnerability to get her way. Her husband turned his back, her son misunderstood her, and she never truly belonged. Heartbroken yet determined, Natalie left her old life behind. When her family finally begged for a second chance, she looked at them and said, "It's too late."
Sunlit hours found their affection glimmering, while moonlit nights ignited reckless desire. But when Brandon learned his beloved might last only half a year, he coolly handed Millie divorce papers, murmuring, "This is all for appearances; we'll get married again once she's calmed down." Millie, spine straight and cheeks dry, felt her pulse go hollow. The sham split grew permanent; she quietly ended their unborn child and stepped into a new beginning. Brandon unraveled, his car tearing down the street, unwilling to let go of the woman he'd discarded, pleading for her to look back just once.
