KIM
"Congratulations, Mrs White. You are pregnant."
I froze.
"Wha....what?"
The middle aged doctor, in his typical white lab coat and glasses smiled as he extended the envelope to me.
"You are one month pregnant. You are having a baby." He said, sounding excited for me.
Meanwhile, my heart is pounding tirelessly like it would explode at any minute.
With my sweaty hands, I collected the envelope and opened it slowly. I brought out the result paper. I read it and confirmed.
I am really pregnant.
One month pregnant.
Oh God.
No. No, please.
I am one month pregnant. It all add up. It's the exact time when i....
"Are you okay, ma'am?" The doctor asked, interrupting my thoughts.
"Um...I am fine." I said, folding the result paper nervously.
"Are you sure? You look pale. Aren't you happy about the...."
"Yes, yes. I am happy, doctor." I retorted, faking a smile as I got on my shaky feet.
"Nice. I believe your husband will be happy to hear the good news." He said, chuckling.
My heart skipped a beat the minute he mentioned my husband. I faked a smile as I picked up my black purse that was on the desk.
"Th...thank you, doctor. I will take my leave now." I said, feeling my pounding heart as I headed for the door.
"Do have a pleasant day, Mrs White." He said and I nodded without looking at him. I opened the door, walked out of the office and closed the door behind me.
I let out a scared breath. My heart is still pounding relentlessly as my hands unconsciously squeezed the result paper.
My eyes brimmed as I looked around me. I am still standing in front of the doctor's office door. Nurses are moving along the hallway in their uniforms. Some are helping the patients with their walking drips, wheelchairs and crutches.
My heart begged to explode as the words of the doctor sang in my head.
"You are pregnant, Mrs White."
Oh God.
I walked towards a trash can close to the doctor's office door. I dumped the paper and envelope into it.
I felt eyes on me but I comported myself nervously and walked along the hallway, heading towards the hospital entrance doors.
I forced myself to keep still as I walked towards the road. I moved a strand of my brunette hair behind my ear as I waved my hand slightly for a taxi.
A tear rolled down my eyes but I quickly wiped it off. A taxi stopped in front of me and I entered the backseat.
"Martin's streets." I said to the driver and he drove off.
I looked out the windows and tears found their way out. I let out a breath as I ran my finger's through my hair.
I have no idea what to do.
I am in a very deep state of dilemma.
I am Kimberly White, and I am so frustrated right now. I have no clue of what to do.
I am Ernest White's wife. We have been married for two years without kids and you must be wondering why I am panicking instead of rejoicing because of this wonderful news.
That's because it was a month ago when I made the worst mistake of my life and now it is back to bite me in the ass.
I am a stay at home wife. Ernest works as a trucker and he is hardly home. He would stay out for a week. Even a whole month.
I was so bored.
Ella, my best friend and her friends convinced me into going to the club with them.
We had a lot of fun. We danced to loud music, drank a lot of alcohol and.....and made out with random guys.
God, I hate it whenever I drink. I do reckless things anytime I am drunk. I haven't drank that much since this past two years as a married woman.
I am not safe whenever I drink so much. The last time I drank that much was three years ago at Ella's birthday party.
I woke up on her kitchen counter the next morning with cooking oil all over my mouth and body. I had to go to the hospital for that. The doctor said I drank a lot of oil.
That's how reckless I can be.
But the one at the club was the worst.
I woke up in an hotel room the next morning, totally naked under the sheets.
I was beyond dumbfounded.
I couldn't believe what I have done.
I found the red dress I wore to club on the floor along with my underwears. Then to my terror, I saw a man's trousers and shirt on the floor as well. And his briefs too.
My heart sank into my stomach.
I realized that I slept with a random guy.
I was the only one on the bed at the moment. The showers was on and I realized that the random man was in the bathroom.
I ran my fingers through my hair as the sinful act tormented me. I don't even remember anything. Hell, I never remember anything after i wake up. But the state I am in now, shows that I had sex.
A familiar beeping sound took my attention towards the nightstand. It was my phone. I picked it up and unlocked it.
It was a text from Ernest.
My heart couldn't pound more than it already is.
It says, he will be coming back a day after tomorrow.
Terror washed me. The sound of the showers took my eyes to the bathroom door.
My hands shook tirelessly as I quickly got on my weak feet. I picked up my dress and put it on quickly. I picked my purse, my underwear and heels before running out of the room quickly.
I didn't want to look at the random guy I spent the night with. It will do nothing but add to my misery.
I ran along the hallway, heading towards the elevator. I cried my eyes out in the elevator. The fact that I just cheated on my husband makes me feel horrible.
I can't believe I....
"We are here, ma'am." The driver said, bringing me out of the awful memories of my sins.
"Oh," I looked out the windows and I recognized our little home instantly.
"How....how much is my..."
"Fifty dollars, ma'am." He retorted.
I looked down my purse and took out some cash and handed it over to him.
"Thank you." He said. I opened the door and got out of the car.
He drove away.
I heaved a sigh.
I turned towards our small but beautiful home.
Tears filled my eyes.
My phone rang. I took it out of my purse and saw the dialer.
It was Ella.
My best friend.
