Dylan and I have been married for five years now but we don't have a child. We were the perfect couple, we are both from wealthy families, we live in a mansion and we love each other to bits. The only problem in our life was the absence of a child. Dylan's parents were traditionalists so the absence of a child was beginning to put a strain on our relationship.
I couldn't wait to get home and break the news to him. I wanted to see the joy radiate from his face when I tell him that he is going to be a father. He is going to be so happy.
The thought was on my mind all through the ride home. When I got to the mansion, Dylan's car was packed outside, which means he was home. I walked into the mansion humming happily.
Lilly, the cool, rushed out of the kitchen as she heard my footsteps.
"Welcome back, ma'am." She said as she collected my purse.
"Thank you, Lilly." I said.
"Where is Dylan?" I asked.
"In the study." She answered.
I thanked her and walked towards the study.
"Baby, I'm hom-" the words died in my mouth as I opened the door to the study.
The scene I saw made my jaw drop. My husband was getting his dick sucked by a lady. I couldn't see her face as she had her back on me. Dylan's eyes widened as he saw me. I stared at him, my eyes wide opened. The lady finally raised her head and I saw a full view of her face.
"Mandy." I called in surprise. Tears streamed down my eyes.
Mandy was my half sister, she is a year older than me. She was born because of an affair my dad had a few months before my mum got pregnant with me. She started living with us after my mum died. Mandy and I never got along and are always rivaling each other with everything, but I never thought she would do this to me because despite everything I've always considered her my sister.
"Hello sister." She said and smirked.
My gaze traveled to Dylan who was fixing his pants.
"You cheated on me with my sister?" I asked, tears brimming from my eyes.
Dylan avoided meeting my gaze.
"Come on, don't act all innocent and play the victim's card now, you know you're the least innocent person in the room." He said.
"Are you kidding me? I just caught you cheating on me with my sister and that too in our matrimony home. Do you have no respect for me at all?" I yelled angrily.
"And so what? Why is it that you're the only one who gets to act like a whore?" He yelled back at me.
I took a few steps towards him.
"Did you just call me a whore?" I asked.
"Yes, because that's what you are. A whore." He said.
Without thinking, I landed my five fingers on his cheek. My vision blurred with tears. He stroked his cheek gently, red marks marring his cheek.
"As of today, you are dead to me." I yelled in his face. I made to walk out of the study but stopped in front of Mandy.
"And you, you've crossed all limits, Mandy. You're sure as hell not getting away with this." I yelled in her face.
"Oh, I'm scared." She said mockingly.
I stomped out of the study and broke into a run, tears streaming from my eyes. I ran out of the mansion and into the streets. I continued running as the picture of Mandy and Dylan kept reappearing in my head. I couldn't see where I was going properly because tears had blurred my vision.
I ran straight into an oncoming vehicle without realizing. All I could register was a sharp pain in my head before everything went black.
.
.
.
I opened my eyes slowly but immediately shut it back as light the ray of light hit my eyes. I gradually adjusted my vision to the light. I darted my gaze around trying to make sense of my surroundings. I was in an unfamiliar place. I tried to stand up from my lying position but my body ached painfully. I managed to get myself in a sitting position.
My eyes darted around and I realized I was in a hospital gown. My head throbbed painfully as I tried to remember the events that led me here. I remembered Mandy and Dylan, how I ran out of the mansion, the oncoming vehicle, I was in an accident.
Just then, the door opened and a nurse walked in.
"You're awake. How are you feeling now ma'am?" She asked.
"I feel weird. What happened?" I asked and held my head in my palm.
"You were in an accident. You've been asleep for five days." She said.
"What?" I asked.
Then suddenly it hits me.
"My baby. Is there anything wrong with my baby?" I asked, holding my breath and hoping she gave me a positive response. The nurse's face fell.
"I'm gonna go get the doctor." She said and turned to walk out of the room.
"No, no, please just tell me. Is there something wrong with my baby?" I pleaded with her, tears stung at the corner of my eyes.
I ripped off the needle in my hand and rushed to her, not caring about the blood that dripped from my hand. I held her arms and shook her slightly.
"Please just tell me what is wrong with my baby." I asked again.
She bit her lower lip.
"I'm sorry ma'am. The baby didn't make it." she said.
I stumbled a few steps back, placing a hand on my mouth to stiffen a scream.
I lost my baby. I lost my baby. The thoughts echoed in my mind as I blacked out.
