PROLOGUE

It is a cold night and it made me remember him, his look, his smile , his touch that sends shivers down my spine , I miss him even now despite what he did to me , why did he do that to me , he forgot everything so quickly , the moment he became financially stable he left me , it's safe to say he used me. Williams and I met in a restaurant, my friends and I were having a girls night , we were having fun eating and gisting and I noticed him staring at me , his table was next to ours and instead of eating , he kept staring at me , it made me shy knowing that a man that handsome was staring at me , my girls and I stood up ready to go after eating and I waited for the waiter to get me my take home , while waiting he walked up to me and started a conversation which led to him asking for my contact , he looked like a decent guy so I gave it to him , Williams and I started talking and I was surprised he didn't know I am the daughter of the business tycoon Smith Dane , I mean everyone literally knows me in New York but he said he recently moved to New York so that explains why , Williams asked me out on a date and it just happened , we fell in love with each other at least I thought to my self not knowing that it was a one sided love , Williams had it all planned out from the beginning , we started dating and I was crazy about him , I thought he loved me too but it was all a lie , he just wanted to use me to set up his business and he succeeded in doing that , Williams and I dated for two years and not once did I find out that he is married , he would always bore me with his business plans and how he needs so much money to fund it , he would make me feel on top of the world and the next minute he's having a mood swing and complaining of how he needs to get his business grown , I loved him so much and I gave him 1 billion dollars to get his business started but dumb me I didn't make it official , no paper work no lawyer just because I trusted him , a month after I gave the money to him , he broke up with me saying he needs to focus and I was a distraction to him , i thought he was joking but apparently he wasn't , he blocked my line and it was a weird situation because it made me feel like I was stalking him , I followed him everywhere and begged him to take me back , blogs wrote annoying things about me saying I was obsessed with a man who doesn't want me , I even hired a private investigator who found out Williams is happily married with a kid , it totally broke me and to worsen the situation, Williams was born and brought up in New York which means he knows me , he just wanted the money to start up his business and used me in the process , I couldn't believe it , I was depressed for a long time , I loved him , he was my first and probably the last because after this heart break I don't plan on giving any man a chance with me again.

CHAPTER ONE

My name is Sophia Smith , my dad is the popular billionaire Smith Dane , I'm the only child, I lost my mom when I was ten and my dad brought me up alone , he was always busy but he prioritizes spending time with me , I started working in my dad's fashion company when I was fifteen and ever since then I've been obsessed with work , I dedicated my whole time to working so hard and making the company bigger that I forgot to have fun , my ex Williams was my first real boyfriend , he was the first guy I had sex with , it was supposed to be a forever thing but he took advantage of my love for him making me hate men.I started ignoring talking to men in general, any interview I was in charge of I would make sure a man doesn't get hired , Williams messed me up so bad , I haven't dated anyone after him , it's been two years since he dumped me , I've moved on but I haven't forgotten what he did to me , I dedicated all of my time into my work and building the company and I must say I'm doing a very good job , my father's company Smith Fashion is a big clothing line in New York and with my dad retiring next month I'll be taking over as the the new CEO, my dad is sixty and he has been working hard all his life and he's retiring now , he deserves some rest , I'll be taking over the company immediately after his retirement party which will be happening sometime next month , we've started preparing for the retirement party , the hall is booked , invites sent out, I already got my dress from my designer and all I did was wait for my dad's big day I'm really excited .

Yayyy, it's my dad retirement party after so many days of waiting , I got ready and got my make up done and hair styled , my dress is a long red pencil gown hugging my body perfectly with a long slit by the side , I must say I am looking very good , I came out of my house and called my driver suzzy, yes my driver is a lady too, I avoid having encounters with men only if it is really important, suzzy complimented my dress calling me the most beautiful smiling , I smiled back at her while she opened the door to my car , we got to the party and reporters were everywhere , immediately the door of my car opened , they ran towards me surrounding me , taking pictures and asking questions regarding the company , my stylists and all , I gave them a good smile but that smile was replaced by an angry face when someone asked about my ex who I was obsessed about , I became angry and walked out of them with the help of my bodyguards , I got to the party angry but I tried to put up a happy face for my dad, I saw my dad talking to his business partners and I walked towards him , hi dad, congratulations on your retirement I said happily hugging my dad , thanks Sophie he said , I'm leaving the company in your care and I trust you'll do a good job , my dad introduced me to some business partners and all they did was try to match make me with their son , nephew or grandson , I am not interested but I smiled trying not to be rude , I sat down at a table and I sighted my friend Mia entering and looking nervous , she isn't used to this kind of gathering and I invited her to keep me company , I waved to get her attention which I did , she walked to me and sat down at my table , the party started and my dad gave his speech , honestly I'm always so proud of how fast my dad built the company , he deserves the best , he has always been so hardworking , it was an emotional speech that got me teary eyed , after my dad's speech , I stood up and headed to the stage to give my speech too, as I was walking towards the stage I saw different eyes staring at me , majority of them were men lusting over me but I ignored them , I blame my choice of dress for the night , I gave a beautiful speech , praising my dad and thanking him for been the best dad in the world , I could see from the stage that he almost started crying , I love you so much dad I said ending my speech and they all started clapping , after that our guests were served and the party ended . I was leaving the hall with Mia when I noticed a young man staring at me from a corner , our eyes met and he turned and walked into the darkness , who's that I asked Mia who turned towards the direction but saw no one . We left the party and I went straight home preparing to take over the company as the CEO.

Chapter 2

It's a beautiful day, the sun is shining , the sky so beautiful and yes it's my first day as the CEO of Smith Fashion , I'm super excited , I opened my giant closet and looked at the varieties of clothes I can choose from but I don't want to because I want something special for my big day , I left my room and entered my other room where I keep my very special dresses for big occasions , I opened the closet and there it was , the perfect dress for the perfect day , it's a grey suit dress designed by the popular Roro, I took the dress out and headed to my room to get ready , I took my bath and came out singing hello from the other by Adele screaming and going off key but I don't care I was too excited , I got dressed and sat down to do my make up , I applied a red lipgloss and a little bit of mascara and I think I'm good to go , I wore my fendi heels that I got last summer and I headed downstairs where I saw my driver waiting for me smiling from ear to ear , good morning ma'am and congratulations Suzzy said handing a flower bouquet to me , thanks Suzzy I said hugging her , she opened the door to the car for me and I got inside , it was a short drive from my penthouse to the office so we got there in five minutes, Suzzy stopped in front of the office and noticed I was nervous and turned to me with the cutest smile saying you can do this , I heaved a sigh of relieve and came down from the car , good morning ma'am , the secretary greeted me from the door entrance , good morning Trisha I replied her walking into the company and heading to my office which used to be my dad's , I could see how excited my employees are as they smiled at me as I walk to my new office , I opened the door to my office and walked in , they did a little retouch to the decoration of the office , they painted it purple , it was formally grey , my dad probably told them to as my favorite color is purple , I walked slowly to the chair reminiscing the time I used to come in here to talk to my dad while he's seated on this chair , busy working , I sat down on the chair and saw my name written boldly on a name plate SOPHIA SMITH , CEO , I am so proud of my self I'll be turning 30 soon and here I am. I got to work immediately and I must say it's a lot of work to do , I called the secretary and asked her when the interview for my personal assistant will be taking place as I urgently need one , I need to get my schedule planned out and meet with the board of directors , I heard a knock on my door and Trisha came in , ma'am the interview is scheduled for tomorrow by 9am , okay Trisha thank you I said dismissing her , I got back to work , I went through some of the proposals from the marketing team and I must say they are doing a good job , I gave a feedback to the proposals and it took a lot of time , I checked the time and it was past seven , just then, my phone started ringing , it's a call from my friends congratulating me , we are currently at the Finn bar so get here right now let's have fun , Mia screamed , I smiled saying okay girls I'll be there in a minute , I hanged up , took some files and headed to the bar , I got to the bar in no time and entered looking for my friends , they waved at me and I walked towards their direction , hi girls I said smiling giving them a hug, the all screamed at once , congratulations on becoming the ceo , how was your first day at work , I smiled saying it was fine but stressful , sorry hun , Tee said , I love my girls , we've been together since high school and we've been inseparable ever since then , Tee is a lawyer and Mia is a Dentist , the bartender served us seven shots each and we've dared each other to take it , I refused saying girls I have to work tomorrow resisting , I know Mia said , but you hardly hang out with us and this is one opportunity we don't want to miss to have fun with you so let's do this , Tee said convincing me , I took the shots and thankfully I can handle my alcohol a little bit , I became tipsy after taking the seventh shot and I refused to have more , but my girls continued , they can handle their alcohol well , I looked round the bar and saw drunk people everywhere , I saw a couple making out in a corner but I could see them well, the guy is hot, he's well built and has a brown hair , the lady is a pretty lady , she's smiling and leaning to him for a Kiss and he's teasing her by moving back , he grabbed her by the neck, pulled her closer and the started kissing , it's an intimate one , the guy proceeds to rubbing his hand on her boobs and she assists him in doing it harder , all of this made me remember Williams and it made me realize I need someone no matter how hard I deny it , yes Williams did me dirty but I should move on , I'm almost 30 and haven't even had my first organsm , I kept staring at the couple making out imagining I was the one the guy was making out with until Tee's voice startled me when she shouted go get a room , Mia turned to me and said Sophie you really need to get laid , look at you starting at those couple , it's too obvious you want some of that, common Mia I said smiling , I don't need that , you do girl Tee also said , deep down I know I do but I'll just get a toy I said to my self , we left the bar and the girls crashed at my place . The next morning I woke up feeling slight headache , I want to sleep more but I can't I have to go to work , I stood up reluctantly and went straight into the bathroom to get my bath , got dressed and did my make up trying to cover my swollen eyes , I said bye to my friends who just woke up and went downstairs and made myself coffee quickly , I had my coffee with bacon and egg that my cook made me and stood up ready to go to work .

Good morning Suzzy I said entering the car , we got to the office and I got down and walked straight to my office , I have a lot of work to do today, good morning ma'am Trisha greeted and I replied her with a smile , how are you Trisha , I entered my office and continued yesterday's work , I started by signing some important contracts paperwork and by the time I was done with that Trisha came in and told me it's time for the interview , okay Trisha , you know how we do it , let them come in one after the other I told her , she left and the next minute I heard a knock on my door , come in I said and it was a pretty lady who looks timid , good morning maam , good morning , how are you doing today I said with a smile , I , I'm fine she said looking unsure and shy, that's a minus one , I need someone bold and outspoken , okay pls can I have your resume I said to her , her name is Vicky as seen on her resume , okay nice one Vicky , we'll get in touch with you if you're fit for the job , thank you ma'am she said and stood up to left , she's a beautiful lady but she's not fit for the job, I need someone bold , outspoken and intelligent , the next person came in and it seems like she came to showcase her new Gucci bag , she kept talking about how good of a stylist she is and how she has styled popular celebrities like Kim k , I mean good for you girl but I don't need a stylist I need a personal assistant I said to myself , I smiled and watch her go on and on talking about how she'll style me to perfection , okay thank you for applying , we'll get back to you if you're fit for the job, I said to her and she left, I am so tired interviewing all these people and most of them were only interested in being my stylist, or they just not good enough , at this point I was about to cancel the rest of the interview , when I heard a knock and it was a man's voice this time , good morning ma'am , my name is Damon and I'm here for the interview to be your personal assistant , I looked up and oh lord he was hot as hell , he is wearing a white shirt and navy blue pant , I could see his biceps from the shirt , he's well built and has a blue eyes , I was lost in thought staring at him and his voice brought me back to reality , ma'am can you hear me he said , yeah yeah I'm sorry, pls sit i said , I completely forgot about my policy of not interviewing and hiring men when I saw him , he looks younger though, I checked his resume and saw he's 25 , oh wow a gen z , he talked boldly and is intelligent , he's the first to give me what I wanted , someone bold and intelligent , okay damon , we'll get back to you , thank you he said staring into my eyes , he stood up to leave and my eyes were stuck on his biceps , he's so hot , goodbye ma'am he said bringing me back to reality , yeah I replied , trying to comport myself . I called Trisha and told her to cancel the interview , but ma'am there is still one more person left, Trisha said , okay let her in and yes I shouldn't have let her in because she only came to the interview to tell me she's a make up artist , I mean the interview is for a personal assistant and not a make up artist , I controlled my self from yelling and kindly told her when I need one I'll let her know she dropped her business card and left . Oh what a day it has been , I have to choose between Vicky and Damon , Vicky is the only lady that actually wants to be my pA the rest came for something else but if I'm been fair Damon is the right person to hire but my policy of not hiring men , is he worth it , should I break my policy for him , Vicky on the other hand is a shy type and I don't think it's right to choose her over Damon because of my policy , I'll just be fair then, I called Trisha and told her to send an email to Damon telling him he got the job, what ma'am , Trisha said shocked because for a very long time I haven't hired a man so she was surprised, should I repeat myself miss Horbbes I said to Trisha in a strict tone , no ma'am she said , I'll do that immediately, she left my office and I looked at the view from my office staring at the sky and wondering how I will deal with such a hot personal assistant , well , I'll just be professional.
