The story of a billionaire son who is forced to get married to a modest girl who comes from a lower social class

Chapter 1 THE RETURN

I'm standing in front of my parents' house fence, and the guard at the entrance comes towards my car. I sigh in annoyance, lower the windows, and keep my eyes on the fence.

"Mr. Kelly, welcome. How are you?" he says.

"I'm fine," I reply simply.

"Sorry for not opening the gate quickly enough, I didn't recognize your car... It's... it's new," he says, looking at it again.

"Yes, it stands out," I remark.

"I wouldn't need to say that, it really stands out," he says

dazzled by the prestige and beauty of my car. "Thank you," I say.

He nods and heads back to his cabin, types on his computer, and the fence opens automatically. I drive through the gate and along the path leading to the main villa. I glance at the other houses; some work has been done, my father had warned me about it, but I hadn't seen the results yet, which isn't surprising since I've just returned from a trip. I arrive in front of my parents' villa, and the guards there also come towards me. I sigh and lower the window; they recognize me and greet me. I get out of the car, and a cool breeze hits my face, feeling really good. I hand the car keys to one of the guards so he can park it in the personal parking lot. I walk towards the house, and he opens the door for me. I'm greeted by the employees I meet. I head to the living room, sit down, take my phone, and handle some online matters. One of the employees comes to me.

"Hello, Mr. Kelly, can I get you something to drink?"

she asks softly, as if she's afraid of me.

"Some fruit juice," I reply.

"Alright, I'll bring it to you," she says, turning and leaving.

Shortly after, I see Mrs. Cooper, the housekeeper, entering the living room. When she sees me, a radiant smile appears on her lips. I stand up and go into her arms. A long hug ensues between us. She gently pushes me away, looks up at me tenderly, and caresses my cheek softly.

"How are you?" she asks in her soothing voice that has always calmed me.

I take her hand, and we sit down on one of the sofas in the living room.

"I'm fine; the doctors said the operation was a success, I've beaten the tumor."

She smiles and hugs me.

"I'm so happy, Jeffrey. I wouldn't have been able to bear losing you. I would have loved to visit you, but the doctor had put you in quarantine."

"It's not a big deal," I say.

"Otherwise, how are you?"

"I'm fine. I almost forgot to tell you - Selena is back. Do you remember her? My youngest daughter".
