The Rise of the Omega

ALICIA'S POV

"Your father is dead."

"No... Father can't be dead! We spoke an hour ago....you can't tell me that!" I cried out as I struggled to move past the guards so I could see him again but the guards won't let me through.

Hot tears flowed down my cheeks as I yelled and pleaded to see my father again when I felt strong hands on my shoulder. I jolted awake to see Henry staring at me with a worried expression as he shook me gently.

"Can you hear me?" I heard him ask as he looked at me with concern written all over his face while my eyes struggled to adjust to the light.

"I dreamt about Father," I mumbled softly as he helped me sit up, and he let out a sigh, taking a seat beside me on the bed.

"You should let go of him already, Alicia. He's dead. You should let him rest in peace. You've refused to accept the reality that he's gone, that's why you keep having these nightmares." Henry said to me softly as his hand gently caressed my cheek and I leaned into his touch for comfort.

"It makes no sense, Henry. I just can't wrap my head around it. Father was known for his good deeds. He had never done anything that was against the law. Why was he suddenly executed? Without any explanation. One minute I was talking to Father, and the next, the guards were dragging him away. They killed him without any trial. How can I let him go?" I asked as my eyes watered, not knowing if I was asking myself or him these questions.

I just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that my father who had always sheltered me and made sure I lacked nothing, suddenly left the world without saying goodbye.

Father was just and kind. The people loved him. He had never done anything to tarnish Grimwood's image. I remembered that we were talking that day, laughing like we had no worries in the world when the guards barged in.

They dragged him away like he was some kind of animal and didn't even respect his age or title. Father warned me not to follow him, and I should not have listened to him. Maybe I could have stopped his death.

After his death, I was left to fend for myself, with no one by my side. It didn't make it any better that I was an omega and a weak heir of the Grimwood pack. Everyone spoke very lowly of me and even tried so many times to get rid of me so that they could take over the throne.

"Which is why we'll get revenge for him. That's why I'm here, Alicia. Listen to me, I love you so much. And the goddess made me your mate because she knew that only I could protect you and give you all that you want. I'll become the Alpha of the Grimwood pack and help you get everything that you lost. You'll stand by my side as my Luna and we'll show them just how good we are." He replied softly, his thumb brushing the tears that slowly ran down my cheeks and I sniffed as a small smile formed on my lips.

Henry Bane. The best gift that the goddess gifted me after my dad's death. She knew that I wouldn't be able to survive on my own, so she sent me my mate to stay by my side and help me get everything back.

Together, we've broken obstacles and even earned the respect of everyone in the pack. Just like I wanted, he was everyone's favorite and everyone wanted him to be the next Alpha. He charmed everyone just like he charmed me so I wasn't surprised.

"I'm so grateful that I met you. You know what, you're right. Maybe their father's death wasn't so bad after all. I met you only because he died and I'll forever keep that in mind." I said softly and he nodded with a smile on his face as he placed a soft kiss on my forehead.

I glanced out the window to see that it was already getting bright. Today made it exactly six months since Father died and we'll be holding a memorial for him. But that wasn't the only thing happening today.

Today was also the day of the special induction ceremony. The day when Henry would become the Alpha of Grimwood pack. The day when I'll stand by his side as the Luna, and together, we will rule the pack side by side.

"Are you excited for today?" Henry asked me and I couldn't help the giggle that escaped my lips as I nodded in response.

"I am beyond excited. I can't wait to call you my alpha." I responded and he brushed his lips over mine softly, causing me to blush slightly as he caressed my cheeks.

"I already call you my Luna so nothing's gonna change. And also, I have a surprise for you." He said softly and my brows raised in excitement at the thought of what he had for me.

"Don't ask what it is. Let's get dressed now. Come on." He said softly as he took my hand and helped me into the bathroom.

We got dressed in no time and by the time we walked outside, the palace was already filled with the royal advisors and pack members. It was finally time to make Henry the alpha of the pack. After our coronation, we would send Father a memorial service.

"Everyone, the time has come!" One of the royal advisors said and everyone erupted in loud cheers as Henry's grip on my hand tightened slightly.

"Henry, please step forward." Dakota, the head of the royal advisors, said and he finally let go of my hand before stepping forward.

I was so excited that my heart was beating quickly in my chest. Finally.

"It is time to crown you as the alpha of the Grimwood pack. Please, kneel before the members so we can begin." He added and Henry was about to kneel when he suddenly froze and turned to look at me.

"Wait. There's something I have to do first before we proceed."
