Queen Stevenson's status as the wife of Chuck Stevenson, CEO of Steve Group, was known to everyone. Her friendly demeanor, soft-spoken manner, and polite attitude earned her respect.
Many employees praised her graceful demeanor, her flawless beauty, and her elegant appearance.
"Would you like to see Mr. Chuck, ma'am?" another employee asked, to which Queen responded politely.
"Yes, I'm going to take him out for lunch!"
Indeed, Queen had planned to surprise her husband by taking him out for lunch.
As far as she knew, he had no plans for the day, so he could come quickly and take her out to eat.
Then her steps halted in front of a large wooden door. It was the door to her husband's office.
Her hand reached out to turn the doorknob, but she froze.
There was a sound coming from inside.
Not the sound of a meeting. Not business conversation.
Instead... moans and whispers from a man and a woman. Who were they?
Queen furrowed her brows, then pressed her ear against the door.
"Am I more satisfying to you than Queen?" a woman's voice sounded, hoarse and seductive. "You must enjoy sleeping and making love with me more than with her, right? Who do you think is more beautiful?"
"Shut up, bitch! Just enjoy this, Chloe!"
Queen froze. That voice... Chuck, her husband. How could this be?
And Chloe? That woman was her own best friend. The secretary she had recommended to her husband! But now she was betraying her by taking her husband?
Queen's face paled. Her body went limp instantly because she never expected this to happen. Two people who were closest to her had betrayed her.
Her throat tightened. Her chest felt tight. Her eyes burned. Her hands trembled. Tears welled up in her eyes.
She turned her face away, holding back the nausea that was about to come out. But her eyes fixed on a glass vase on the small table near the door.
Without thinking, Queen grabbed the vase.
"I'll pour this on you for acting like animals. If you want to be like wild cats, I'll treat you like animals too," she muttered angrily.
Her hand reached for the doorknob, and with all her strength, she opened the door.
"OH MY GOD!!" Chloe screamed, scrambling to push Chuck's body away so she could get up from the brown leather sofa in the room. The woman also tried to cover her still naked body.
Yes, both of their bodies were still naked!!!
Chuck turned with a panicked expression, half his body still clinging to Chloe's. Chuck tried to pick up his pants, which lay helplessly on the floor.
Queen didn't say a word. She immediately poured the water from the vase onto the two traitors' bodies.
"You two bastards!" Queen shouted loudly. "Friends and husband! Damn it!"
"Queen!" Chuck shouted, his face flushed red.
Queen smiled sarcastically. "How romantic you two are. May I take a photo for you to display in the living room?"
Chloe screamed and tried to grab her clothes. "Forgive me, Queen! This... this is all my fault..."
"Oh really? Your fault? Just you?" Queen looked at Chuck. "You two are a bunch of disgusting traitors."
"Enough!" Chuck snapped, getting up hurriedly and pulling his pants off the floor. "Get out of here before I lose control!"
"LOSE CONTROL?" Queen shouted back. "You've lost your mind, Chuck Stevenson!"
She grabbed a vase and threw it at the wall behind her husband.
CRASH!!
Chloe screamed in shock and started crying. "Queen... I..."
"Shut your mouth! Don't say anything that will make me shove this vase into your body," Queen snapped.
Chuck stepped forward and roughly grabbed Queen's wrist.
"Don't make a scene at the office!"
"A scene?" Queen pushed her husband away. "You slept with my own best friend at work and you're telling me to make a scene?"
"Enough!" Chuck pointed toward the door. "Get out! We're done! I'm sick of you, Queen! We're getting a divorce!"
Queen froze.
"What did you say?" the woman was stunned by what her husband had said. She and her husband had built the company together.
Although Steve Group had existed for years, she was the one managing the company. Steve Group nearly collapsed under Chuck's leadership.
Therefore, Queen had tried to find new investors and capital to prevent the company from going bankrupt. But in the end...
"DIVORCE! I've made up my mind. You're no longer the woman I want! And don't worry... I've already contacted a lawyer. We'll start the process today."
Queen looked at the man with tears falling one by one.
"Alright, Chuck," she said softly. "But remember this well. You've just driven away the only woman who stood by your side from the start of your career, and I was the one who helped you get the company out of crisis."
Chuck rolled his eyes. "Your dramatic nonsense-"
"And Chloe..." Queen glared at the woman now wrapping herself in a blazer jacket lying on the floor. "Save your tears. You haven't won yet. Not yet. I'll make sure both of you will be destroyed for betraying me."
Queen stepped out of the room, but before leaving completely, she paused at the doorframe and turned back briefly.
"Oh, and one more thing," she said coldly. "I hope your relationship is happy. Because you'll need it... after all this is over. Remember that your revenge will be far more painful than what I'm enduring right now!"
Then Queen walked away, leaving the two of them frozen in place.
.
.
Queen hurried into the elevator, holding her breath, holding back tears, holding back anger that felt like it could burn down the entire building.
Inside the elevator, she bowed her head. Her tears burst forth.
"How could they do this to me..."
Queen's sobs echoed in the narrow elevator as it descended toward the ground floor. Her shoulders trembled. The dark blue dress given to her by Chuck now felt like cheap fabric wrapping her broken heart. She tried to steady her breath, but the tightness in her chest wouldn't subside.
Her phone rang.
The ringtone she didn't want to hear from the name displayed: Ronald Frank, the Stevenson family's lawyer.
Queen hesitated, but then answered in a hoarse voice, "Hello?"
"Good afternoon, Mrs. Stevenson. I'm calling to inform you that the divorce proceedings will begin shortly as per Mr. Stevenson's instructions."
"Alright, I'll take care of it today. Should I come to the office, or will you be coming to the house?"
The woman was familiar with Ronald as the family lawyer who often handled legal issues for the Steve group.
"Mrs. Stevenson, I will come to your house to deliver all the documents."
"Alright, I'll wait!"
Queen knew that Ronald was just doing his job, so she would cooperate, as long as she could escape this hellish torment.
Her heart was too broken, and her body was weak, all because she had been betrayed by two people she considered her closest confidants.
"It turns out my wretched husband had already prepared everything! Even the divorce papers are already in the family lawyer's hands. Amazing... absolutely amazing!!"
She didn't even know that upon arriving home, Queen would face betrayal and destruction far more devastating to her soul and life.
