Talk over the moonlight
At 27, I lost my brother and his wife in a tragic car accident, leaving me as the guardian of their three-year-old son, my nephew. We moved to Rainzburg, Germany, where my uncle offered us his unused house. Adjusting to our new life was challenging—my nephew struggled with the loss of his parents, crying himself to sleep and rejecting my attempts to comfort him, still calling me by my name as he always had.Over the years, I dedicated myself to caring for him, navigating the difficulties of raising a child while dealing with my own grief and guilt. Now, at 31, nearly five years after the incident, my nephew is almost eight. He understands why his parents aren’t around, but the pain lingers for both of us. Despite the challenges, we’ve created a new normal in our lives.I work as a cook and second-in-command to the chef at a local restaurant, where I’ve found some stability and purpose. Amidst the routine, a dream has quietly grown within me—to open my own restaurant one day. It’s a goal that gives me hope for a brighter future, despite the trauma and drama that have marked our past. Our life together isn’t perfect, but it’s ours. We’ve survived the worst and are slowly learning to live again. The bond between us is strong, and I’m determined to give my nephew the love and care he needs while pursuing my own dreams of a better life. "Give me half of you" "That's all I'm right now"
