Naomi knew it was wrong to spend the night with a stranger in another city. But something in her told her she could trust him. She ended up having a passionate one night stand with him only to discover he lied about his Identity and Status.
Naomi Browne sighed for the uncountable time as she rested her head against the headrest of the back passenger's seat.
Her chauffeur, Daniel took a glance at her through the front mirror. She replied him with a sad smile, signalling everything was okay.
Have you ever been forced to do something out of your own will? That was exactly what Naomi was going through right now. Since her breakup with Connor, her ex-boyfriend, Naomi had been nothing but a mess, Her whole life turned upside down. She didn't leave her apartment for two weeks and when she finally did, She only showed up at work then went straight back to her apartment.
Naomi declined all invitations to parties and outings from her friends and family, Her break up with Connor left her devastated. She thought he was the love of her life, the man She would spend the rest of her life with, the father of her future children but she was all wrong.
Connor broke up with her on their third year anniversary. He told her he didn't feel the chemistry between them again and that he was interested in someone else. He sincerely apologized to her.
She liked the fact that he came clean to her as she wouldn't like to end up with a man who felt nothing for her. But despite the fact that he came clean, the truth hurt like hell.
To recover from her break up, her parents thought it would be a good idea to send their daughter to represent them at a function in another state. Perhaps she would be able to mingle and meet someone else who would help her forget Connor.
Naomi was angry when her parents informed her that she would be representing them at a function in another state. Even though Naomi's parents were very rich, she never tagged along with them whenever they had functions to attend, It was either they went themselves or they sent her elder brother, Luis to represent them since he was the one in charge of the family company.
Unfortunately, Luis was on a business trip so Naomi had no choice but to represent her parents for this so-called function.
"Ma'am we are here." The chauffeur announced which brought her out of her thoughts. She didn't even realize they had gotten to the venue. Naomi just wanted the night to be over, get back into her parents jet the following morning and find her way back to her apartment.
"Thank you, Daniel, " She said to him after he opened the door and helped her come down from the car. "I'll call you when I'm ready to go so you'll come to pick me up." She told him and he nodded.
"Have a wonderful evening ma'am." He smiled at her before making his way to the driver's seat.
Naomi heaved a sigh as she walked towards the hall. The press were all over taking pictures. Even though she was used to it, she never liked or appreciated being the centre of attention.
Thankfully, she chose to dress elegantly, making it less obvious that she was just recovering from a heartbreak.
Linda, her best friend helped her pick her outfit which was a red sexy dress with matching heels, jewellery and clutch. Naomi was pretty good with makeup so she did her makeup herself.
As she walked into the hall, she did not fail to notice how big and beautifully decorated it was. Some people were seated on their tables making conversations while some were on their feet, trying to mingle. The waiters were also walking to and fro with trays of champagne. The function was full of the rich and elegant people, yet nobody looked familiar for Naomi to start a conversation with so she walked towards an empty table, took a seat and occupied herself by typing away on her phone.
"Hello Dear." A motherly voice interrupted her.
She looked up and saw a familiar face. "Mrs Smith?"
"Yes dear and I suppose you're Naomi Browne."
"Yes, I am." Naomi stood to her feet. She was about to give the woman a handshake but instead, Mrs Smith pulled her into a hug.
"The last time I saw you, you were just a little girl. Look at you now, you've grown into a beautiful woman." She said which made Naomi blush.
"Thank you, Mrs Smith." She replied shyly.
According to Naomi's mom, Mrs Smith was a close friend of hers, even though they only saw each other once a while, they still kept in touch.
"It's okay dear. You can call me Sarah or Mom." Naomi nodded with a smile.
Sarah Smith was in her late forties, average height with brown hair. Despite her age, she still looked flawless.
"I'm sorry my parents couldn't make it, they've been really busy with their new project." Naomi apologized sincerely on her parents' behalf even when she clearly knew her parents weren't busy. They could have been here instead of forcing her to come to represent them.
"It's okay my dear. I'm glad you're here. I will introduce you to my husband and my son later on. I hope you enjoy the function." Sarah smiled and pulled Naomi into a hug again. Then she left to greet the other guests.
Naomi reached for a glass of champagne from a waiter that was passing before she took a seat and continued occupying herself with her phone.
Shortly after, the event started in full swing, speeches were made, donations were given, food and drinks were served and after that, Naomi decided to go hang out in the bar area. She was tired of sitting among three couples who shared a table with her. They were all so lovey-dovey and she was getting sick of it.
When they saw she was leaving the table, She gave them a sad smile to their questioning look and headed to sit on a comfortable stool behind the bar counter. Unfortunately, she couldn't leave the function because she had to give a closing speech on behalf of her parents.

When Christopher realized he left his phone in his car, he went out of the hall to go pick it up. Coming back into the hall, He couldn't help but notice a very attractive woman. She was putting on a red dress which enhanced all her curves and a little bit of cleavage. Red was his favourite colour so her appearance turned him on even more. He watched her as she looked confused before making her way into the hall.
Throughout his interaction with other guests, his eyes never left her. What surprised him more was that he saw his mom make friendly conversations with her. He couldn't help but wonder why he had never met her since his Mom knew her.
Christopher thought she looked so cute when she acted uncomfortable around the couples who were slightly making out on her table.
"What's up with you Chris? You've been staring at her all day. Heck, I'm sure you weren't even listening to all I was saying." Andre, Christopher's best friend said.
"I don't know Andre, Something about her just captures my attention. She's so beautiful, the most beautiful woman I've ever seen."
Andre rolled his eyes at his best friend who was known to the most ruthless billionaire playboy. "You say this every time you meet a new girl and then after you get what you want, you leave her heartbroken, " Andre said, he was tired of Chris Playboy ways
"You have to believe me, Andre, There's really something about her that got me hooked, I've not been able to take my eyes off her since she walked in."
Andre rolled his eyes, "You've just indirectly confessed that you weren't listening to all what I've been saying."
Chris gave him a sad smile and said, "I'm sorry." Before Andre could say anything further, Christopher spoke. "She's now alone at the bar. I think this is my opportunity to get to know her." He said nervously and turned to face Andre. "Wish me luck."
"Best of luck, " Andre mumbled. Chris handed him his glass of wine and walked towards the bar area where the beautiful lady was seated.

"My sister threatens to take my mate. And I let her keep him." Born without a wolf, Seraphina is the disgrace of her pack-until a drunken night leaves her pregnant and married to Kieran, the ruthless Alpha who never wanted her. But their decade-long marriage was no fairytale. For ten years, she endured the humiliation: No Luna title. No mating mark. Just cold sheets and colder stares. When her perfect sister returned, Kieran filed for divorce the same night. And her family was happy to see her marriage broken. Seraphina didn't fight but left silently. However, when danger struck, shocking truths emerged: ☽ That night wasn't an accident ☽ Her "defect" is actually a rare gift ☽ And now every Alpha-including her ex-husband-will fight to claim her Too bad she's done being owned. *** Kieran's growl vibrated through my bones as he pinned me against the wall. The heat of him seared through layers of fabric. "You think leaving is that easy, Seraphina?" His teeth grazed the unmarked skin of my throat. "You. Are. Mine." A hot palm slid up my thigh. "No one else will ever touch you." "You had ten years to claim me, Alpha." I bared my teeth in a smile. "Funny how you only remember I'm yours... when I'm walking away."
Her ex-husband declared, "The person I admired most was that legendary racer." She smiled thinly. "Hate to break it to you-that was me." He said, "Jealous I blew a fortune on a world-famous jeweler for Violet?" She let out a cool laugh. "Funny, that designer trained under me." He scoffed, "Buying a dying firm won't put you in my league. Snap out of it." She shrugged. "Weird-I just steered your company off a cliff." Stunned, he blurted out, "Baby, come back. I'll love you forever." She wrinkled her nose. "Hard pass. Keep your cheap love." Then she took a mogul's arm and never looked back.
I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.
I just got my billionaire husband to sign our divorce papers. He thinks it's another business document. Our marriage was a business transaction. I was his secretary by day, his invisible wife by night. He got a CEO title and a rebellion against his mother; I got the money to save mine. The only rule? Don't fall in love. I broke it. He didn't. So I'm cashing out. Thirty days from now, I'm gone. But now he's noticing me. Touching me. Claiming me. The same man who flaunts his mistresses is suddenly burning down a nightclub because another man insulted me. He says he'll never let me go. But he has no idea I'm already halfway out the door. How far will a billionaire go to keep a wife he never wanted until she tried to leave?

During a global live-streamed wedding, he knelt and declared, "Caitlin, you are the light in my life!"
Sunlit hours found their affection glimmering, while moonlit nights ignited reckless desire. But when Brandon learned his beloved might last only half a year, he coolly handed Millie divorce papers, murmuring, "This is all for appearances; we'll get married again once she's calmed down." Millie, spine straight and cheeks dry, felt her pulse go hollow. The sham split grew permanent; she quietly ended their unborn child and stepped into a new beginning. Brandon unraveled, his car tearing down the street, unwilling to let go of the woman he'd discarded, pleading for her to look back just once.
