⭐Chapter One ⭐
" Come on eat fast or you are gonna be late on your first day in high school ".
Alexus had written the entrance examination into the best school in the country Emeralds Academy. The school was obviously a school for only the rich. Her family had thrown a little party when she had gotten the scholarship into the school . Alexus was the pride of her parents. She had always made her family proud right from her childhood .
Now back to the present.
" Calm down Ray stop making her feel nervous ". Grandma Ida said.
" Is he making her nervous or is he trying to relieve himself from the tension. It's obvious that he is tensed grandma ". Aunt Emma said obviously picking on her brother like she usually do.
" Oh no you two I am not tensed. I just want to make sure that my baby here gets to school early. It's her first time in high school for crying out loud you all".
" Dad it's obvious to all that it's my first time in high school every one knows that already literally the whole village knows that so that can you please stop announcing it? Cause it's making me nervous . This is literally what you say every day since I got the admission letter". Alexus said as she drank her tea.
" At least I am not the only one observant here". Aunt Emma said.w
" Oh you two stop that. Is it not okay for a father to be proud of his only child? He can say it as many times he wants he's just being proud of Alexus. And Alexus dear eat up you wouldn't want to have a bad reputation by being late on your first day right?" Mrs. Senna said for the first time since the argument as she patted her daughter's hair .
" Yes mummy I understand". Alexus said as she drank her last drop of tea and shoved the remaining pieces of bread in her mouth. Then she looked up to find everyone staring at her.
" What? I'm just trying to be fast"
" That doesn't mean you should choke on your food baby . Do make sure never to eat like that in school if you don't want to be made fun of. Never fight in school always reply a harsh question with a calm answer. Never get into a hot argument with your teacher. Do not get into detention ...."
Yes mummy I get it. You've already given me the do's and dont's of high school. You've been singing it for the past one week and it is stucked in my head forever so I get it".
" I'm just making sure you do everything right on your first semester there".
" Save the poor child you all . It's her first semester and so? She will get through her first semester I'm sure of it because she's our strong fighter. She will scale through ".
" Thank you poppa . You are the only one that understands me everytime. Oh I am going to miss you poppa". Alexus said as she ran to hug her poppa then she hugged her grandma and Aunt Emma and her big cousin.
" Even you granny and aunt Emma even you Donny . I'll miss you all. I feel like crying now my eyes are teary".
" Come on baby girl big girls don't cry. You are my champion so I know that you will scale through . Now chin up and go to school make sure not to get into detention on your first week in school. It's a bad omen a veeeeeeery baaad one at that". Donny said while she hugged him.
" Now enough of the hugging let's move before Alexus starts crying here". Mr. Raymond said as he opened the front door.
Donny had already put her bags in the booth if the car. He would have followed them to drop Alexis in school but he had to go back to college today. Aunt Emma had to travel to the countryside to visit a deceased friend.
Alexis waved at her granny, popppy, aunt Emma and Donny. They were her big family and we're the only friends she ever had. She wondered how she would be able to survive the whole semester without them by her side. Alexis felt tears drop from her eyes. She ran back to hug her poppy again. He always had her back and stood up for her when Donny was not there to fight for her. She hugged Donny. He was the only sibling she ever had. He was a big brother to her when she needed guidance. He was a bodyguard to her when she needed protection. He was her playmate and gistmate when she was bored. She remembered when she was being bullied in her grade five then Donny was in his freshman year at high school. That day he came back home for his mid-semester break and had found her crying with hand marks on her body. He was so pissed at the person who had dared hurt her. When he had asked her who inflicted the marks on her body, she initially wanted to lie but when she saw his facial expression, she knew it was pointless lying to him because there was no amount of lie that would get him to believe her. After she had narrated what had happened and mentioned the people who were responsible for the marks imprinted on her skin, he grew so mad, picked her up like she was some weightless bag and made her take him to each of the bullies house. When they reached their houses, he reported to their parents or whoever was in charge of them and made them apologize to her promising never to hurt her in any way. It made her feel so good.
She cried seriously when she thought of the times he had fought for her. She would surely miss him.
"Never let anyone treat you like shit!" I learned that the hard way. For three years, I lived with my in-laws. They didn't treat me as their son-in-law but as a slave. I put up with everything because of my wife, Yolanda Lambert. She was the light of my life. Unfortunately, my whole world came crashing down the day I caught my wife cheating on me. I have never been so heartbroken. To have my revenge, I revealed my true identity. I was none other than Liam Hoffman—the heir of a family with trillions of dollars in assets! The Lamberts were utterly shocked after the big reveal. They realized what fools they had been for treating me like trash. My wife even knelt down and begged for my forgiveness. What do you think I did? Did I take her back or made her suffer? Find out!
She was a world-renowned divine doctor, the CEO of a publicly traded company, the most formidable female mercenary, and a top-tier tech genius. Marissa, a titan with a plethora of secret identities, had hidden her true stature to marry a seemingly impoverished young man. However, on the eve of their wedding, her fiance, who was actually the lost heir to a wealthy dynasty, called off the engagement and subjected her to degradation and mockery. Upon the revelation of her concealed identities, her ex-fiance was left stunned and desperately pleaded for her forgiveness. Standing protectively before Marissa, an incredibly influential and fearsome magnate declared, "This is my wife. Who would dare try to claim her?"
After being kicked out of her home, Harlee learned she wasn't the biological daughter of her family. Rumors had it that her impoverished biological family favored sons and planned to profit from her return. Unexpectedly, her real father was a zillionaire, catapulting her into immense wealth and making her the most cherished member of the family. While they anticipated her disgrace, Harlee secretly held design patents worth billions. Celebrated for her brilliance, she was invited to mentor in a national astronomy group, drew interest from wealthy suitors, and caught the eye of a mysterious figure, ascending to legendary status.
Janice, the long-forgotten legitimate heiress, made her way back to her family, pouring her heart into winning their hearts. Yet, she had to relinquish her very identity, her academic credentials, and her creative works to her foster sister. In return for her sacrifices, she found no warmth, only deeper neglect. Resolute, Janice vowed to cut off all emotional bonds. Transformed, she now stood as a master of martial arts, adept in eight languages, an esteemed medical expert, and a celebrated designer. With newfound resolve, she declared, "From this day forward, no one in this family shall cross me."
Three years ago, Cecilia was left battered and alone by the man she loved most, Alston, yet she bravely completed the wedding ceremony while pregnant. Three years later, although they were married, they grew apart over time. Cecilia focused on her career, no longer foolishly believing in love. But her transformation instantly threw Alston into a panic... And what is the secret from 11 years ago that Cecilia has always been reluctant to reveal? *** "She went to a law firm, met with a lawyer..." A lawyer? Is Cecilia suing someone? Who? Is there any recent litigation against the company? Alston suddenly chuckled coldly, "Who could she sue? I'm the CEO of this company. How come such a matter doesn't come to me first?" The assistant swallowed nervously, speaking softly, "Sir, there's no litigation against the company. She met with... a divorce lawyer."
Sandra Hill, the long-lost real heiress of the Hill family, was shunned by her own kin. Instead of embracing her, they bestowed their affection upon an impostor. They even arranged her to marry a vegetative man in place of her so-called “sister”. Sandra sneered, refusing to put up with this humiliation, cut off ties with the Hill family immediately and ran into the flash marriage with Wesley Cooper, her unconscious billionaire husband. With her incredible medical skills, she defied the odds and revived him. Little did she expect that her husband spoiled her with all his love... A medical genius, a computer prodigy, a national treasure in painting, and a racing legend... Her husband revealed her various identities, leaving the Hill family regretful. Her father came pleading, "It's Dad's fault. Please come back." Her mother wept, "Mom will protect you from now on. Please come back." Even her five brothers knelt before he, begging for forgiveness. Yet, Sandra's smile held a hint of mockery as she vowed, “Never!”
