CHAPTER 1 - DINNER DATE
Gabby Anderson was in her bedroom trying to choose what to wear to her date with Bobby; Bobby and Gabby have planned on so many dates in their one-year relationship, but you can only count a hand full of them that they ever really went on after so many failed dates with him, her friend kiki said, my darling you need to stop being too excited about this date, you know Bobby could call as usual and say something came up.
Gabby shot her an angry look, why do you have to be so negative all the time when it comes to Bobby?
'well because he has always made an excuse when you need to go out to dinner, he is only accurate to his promise when the date is at his place and you are the one cooking'
this time it will be different, you will see;
I hope so, Gabby; Kiki sighed.
So is he coming to pick you up? Kiki asked;
no, I will book an Uber;
Kiki shot her a glance; but before she could say anything.
Gabby quickly said it's more convenient for everyone anyway; what's the point of him driving all the way here and going to a restaurant almost in the middle of our locations?
Kiki was pissed; 'how could you say that? With irritation in her tone, intensifying the irritation in her voice she continued, it's only regular for a gentle man to come to pick his woman for a date or at least send a driver, that dumb ass has no idea how to treat you as a lady Gabby; you deserve more than this, Kiki kept complaining, look am not trying to sour your mood but think about it, Bobby doesn't seem to be putting much effort into this affair, something as simple as a date he always makes excuses at the last minute, he won't try to come to pick you up or send you a driver, rarely visit you on weekends, doesn't acknowledge you in the office all in the name of keeping it professional, she mimicked Bobby's voice" "Gabby, please don't let anyone know that we are together, this is my work place. I don't want anyone to look down on me that am dating an intern"; even the sound of that is ridiculous, its as if he is ashamed of you if you ask me his feelings for you doesn't run deep.'
That's enough Kiki, Gabby shouted at her; he loves me; he says it to me all the time, and I believe him; he has his way of showing it, she said in a much lower tone; Kiki shook her head; feeling sorry for her friend, Kiki knows that sooner or later Bobby will hurt her and the impact will be so much, she wonders if Gabby will be able to get over it.
That's OK, let's get you ready for this date,
Gabby walked to her, put her hands on her shoulder, and said, Kiki, I know you are just looking out for me, and I appreciate it. Still, I need you to support me; Kiki looked at her;
'OK, I will help you, but if he breaks your heart, I am breaking his legs, and I mean it, she said, making a solemn face to drive her point home'
Gabby laughed and pulled her in for a hug, in a playful tone she said, OK sister break his neck too if you must but for now, be my best friend, Kiki remained silent and tightened the hug.
'OK, let's get you something to wear' she pulled out from the hug and stood in front of the closet.
Gabby stood beside her,
'I have a particular look in mind, I don't want you to look too simple like you usually like, that might be part of the reason Bobby doesn't take you seriously, Kiki said,'
Gabby smacked her in the arm, Kiki please be serious,
'but I am serious, your style is way too simple, to keep a guy like Bobby, you need to keep him interested, you have to keep pulling him in,'
Gabby rolled her eyes, that's a full time job, I cant afford that, she replied laughing lightly,
'whatever, but tonight, you are in my hands, and I have just the dress you need,' Kiki ran to her room to get the dress she had in mind, as soon as she was out the door, Gabby's phone rang, she walked back to her bed and picked up her phone,she saw Bobby's name, her lips curved up in to a smile, she slide and put the phone to her ear, without any pleasantries, Bobby said Gabby, change of plans, immediately the smile disappeared from her face and was replaced with a frown, whats wrong Bobby, feeling disappointed already, as if he could read her mind he said
'am sorry, its not that am canceling am just changing the itinerary a little, still frowning she waited for him to continue,
there is this client I have been chasing for a while and I only got an opportunity from his PA today that he has an hour opened this evening and he will be at the Oriental Hotel, so I want you to come meet me there, and wait, after my meeting with him we can go on our date, she was silent for a while, when he didn't get a response he asked, Gabby are you still there? She sighed; yea am here, is just; before she could finish, he interrupted her sounding upset," oh Gabby, don't make things difficult for me. You know the pressure am facing at the bank now; this client is all I need to settle things for now; please try to understand, but if you can't do this for me, then we can reschedule our date for another day; he didn't wait for her response then hung up the call. At the sound of the beep, Gabby looked at her phone. She panicked she quickly dialed him back. When he saw her call, he smiled wickedly; oh, little Gabby, I got you just where I want you, he said to himself before picking up the ring. As soon as the call connected, she told Bobby why did you cut the call. You didn't even let me finish before you interrupted me; I didn't say I won't come; I was going to say it's going to cost me more money in transportation to get to the oriental; also, I will need to have a reservation in other to get in you know that place is for elites, so do you have a reservation?
Bobby said yes, sure, I will text you the reservation details,
she replied OK, and hung up. She sat on the bed, feeling a bit sad. All the while, Kiki was standing at the door. Kiki heard the phone conversation; Kiki had a very stony expression on her face; before she could speak,
Gabby said Kiki, please just let this one go this time, please, as she was speaking, a text message came in; she looked at it and just threw the phone back on the bed, Kiki said what wrong now, who texted you? Its Bobby; he sent me the name on the table reservation that I am supposed to use to get into the oriental hotel. Kiki picked up the phone and looked at the message; when she saw the name Mr. Jack Rich, her eyes lit up.

This caused a stir, and this wealthy family was bombarded by various media outlets. During a phone interview, the gossip reporter asked, "Miss Martinez, how do you feel now that Mr. Walker has a new girlfriend?" Martina held her painful forehead and looked towards Benjamin, who was adjusting his suit by the floor-to-ceiling window. He gestured for her to come over and help him with his tie. Holding her phone, Martina responded, "It's... complicated!" The reporter's heart leaped with joy and asked, "Is it heartbroken?!" Martina was about to nod, but Benjamin raised his eyebrows and took her phone away. His deep and alluring voice was heard on the other end of the line, "New girlfriend? Whose?"
My family was on the poverty line and had no way to support me in college. I had to work part-time every day just to make ends meet and afford to get into the university. That was when I met her—the pretty girl in my class that every boy dreamt of asking out. I was well aware she was out of my league. Nevertheless, I mustered all my courage and bravely told her that I had fallen for her. To my surprise, she agreed to be my girlfriend. With the sweetest smile I had ever seen, she told me that she wanted my first gift for her to be the latest and top-of-the-line iPhone. I worked like a dog and even did my classmates’ laundry to save up. My hard work eventually paid off after a month. I finally got to buy what she wanted. But as I was wrapping my gift, I saw her in the dressing room, making out with the captain of the basketball team. She then heartlessly made fun of my inadequacy and made a fool out of me. To make things worse, the guy whom she cheated on me with even punched me in the face. Desperation washed over me, but there was nothing I could do but lie on the floor as they trampled on my feelings. But then, my father called me out of the blue, and my life turned upside down. It turned out that I was a billionaire's son.

Sometime later, at an award ceremony, Chelsea went onstage to accept the award for best screenplay. Her ex-husband, Edmund, was the one presenting the award to her. As he handed her the trophy, he suddenly reached for her hand and pleaded humbly in front of the audience, "Chelsea, I'm sorry I didn't cherish you before. Could you please give me another chance?" Chelsea looked at him indifferently. "I'm sorry, Mr. Nelson. My only concern now is my business." Edmund's heart was shattered into a million pieces. "Chelsea, I really can't live without you." But his ex-wife just walked away. Wasn't it better for her to just concentrate on her career? Men would only distract her—especially her ex-husband.

People watched the childhood sweethearts grow from inexperience to maturity, finally getting married in a grand wedding ceremony. On the day of the wedding, despite the alliance between the Carlson and Malone families, the groom ran away. Stella knew that Aaron had rushed to L.A. to take care of his ex-girlfriend, who had attempted suicide. Unwilling to become the laughingstock of all Seattle, she gritted her teeth and dialed the number of her adversary, her tone almost commanding, "Ethan, come and marry me now. This is your only chance for revenge." On the other end, Ethan Powers raised an eyebrow as he gripped his phone, staring at the floor littered with cigarette butts. "Did the groom run away?" he asked. "My darling."
