"Did you really think that I would marry you? The human? The useless!" Derek asks, pointing at me, while all I can feel right now is the heartbreak, and the horrible pain in my chest. Rena is not only being rejected by her lover, but also betrayed by him! Her boyfriend sells her to his Alpha, Logan the cursed Alpha. Logan, the Alpha of the Nightwind pack, who is cursed, and unable to control his wolf, especially during the full moon, which is his biggest nightmare, and darkest secret. Logan needs Rena, because somehow she's the key to breaking his curse, but why does it have to be her? And what if love happens? What if the enemies were fated to become...Lovers? It's the only case we could call: forbidden love! Which will win: The curse or love and fate?
Rena:
"What's wrong?" I freeze, looking right into his hesitant face, feeling confused and shocked all at once.
"You don't want me?" My question catches him off guard, and his eyes look away from me. He smirks, shaking his head as if I'm talking nonsense.
The first man I ever invited inside my apartment, and the first to reject me.
"Who wouldn't want all of this?" His deep voice makes my knees wobble, and I can finally feel relief wash over me. Even though it's so dark inside my room, it's easy to see his smirk grow wider.
"Then what is it?" I cover up some of my bare skin, feeling the embarrassment due to his cruel rejection hitting me hard in the face. I jump off my bed. My movements don't ease the tension, because his face tightens as he follows me across the room.
I step outside the balcony, watching a few cars passing down the street. The fresh air fills my lungs as Derek gently squeezes my hand. But I refuse to look at his face, not wanting him to see how hurt and disappointed I am.
As he keeps on staring at me, and waiting for me to look at him, I just keep ignoring his looks.
I expect him to leave my room by now, and vanish from my life for good, as if he never existed. However he's just stubborn to do so, because to my surprise I can feel his hand grabbing my waist gently, swiftly turning me around, and pulling me closer to him.
Our eyes meet for seconds, and this doesn't make it any easier. Staying up close to him makes me even more fascinated by his charming strong features.
"I don't know...are we even exclusive? We've been dating for like two months!" I finally let go of the words that have been stuck in my throat for the last few weeks.
"I want to prove to you I'm different, it's not just sex I care about!" His words make me regret being honest with him already, and even regret showing him how easy I am! However they also make me wonder, does he really want more than... just sex?
I step inside my room, heading to my closet, pulling a new t-shirt and shorts. I can feel his eyes still focus on every movement I'm making. "Renn, I feel like you're the one" his words sink deep in my heart, making me freeze for seconds. My breath suddenly stops as I glare in shock at his honest face.
But my dignity ruins the perfect moment anyway, and I look away, immediately. As I continue to put on my clothes, like he said nothing.
"I know it's crazy, but I do feel this strong feeling for you, it drives me crazy and makes me want to do things...things you can never imagine" he starts, his hand reaching to cup my cheek, and his gaze holding mine.
"But it also makes me want to slow down." His deep honest words make me want to hug him, and that's why I pull him into a tight hug, his warm skin giving me shivers. Is this normal? Or is it because he's so hot that his skin is almost sending flames all over my body?
"What? surprised that a tattooed bad boy knows how to sweet talk?" His question makes me roll my eyes, and I try to hide my smile.
"I just want to figure out... this?" I say seriously, pointing to the small distance between us. He doesn't give an answer, and only frowns.
Something is telling me that he's not sure about our relationship, or maybe he's just too scared to admit it. But I forget how unpredictable this guy is, because his next sentence makes me even more shocked.
"I want you to meet my parents" he says, and his serious face makes me gape from shock. His hand touches the necklace I'm wearing, but his eyes aren't fixed on mine, they're fixed on my necklace, the one grandma gave me.
"Your...parents?" I gulp, "isn't this too soon?" I add, playing nervously with my fingers. "why? you don't want me?" His soft voice makes me giggle as he tries to mimic me from earlier.
"I'll think about it" I say, and turn my back on him, walking towards my bathroom, however I stop when I feel a sudden and unexplainable pain in my chest, as if someone was digging down my chest trying to cut out my heart.
But I continue to walk as if nothing happened, but deep down I know that feeling, I just choose to ignore it anyway.
*****************
I'm running inside the dark wood, someone, or something is chasing after me. I stop running, my heavy breath makes me suffocate.
I don't know for how long I've been running, I don't even know why I'm in here, alone. My eyes scan my surroundings, tall trees standing on every side, and just then I know I'm lost.
Suddenly I freeze in my spot listening to the rumbling noises. That's not the worst part, the worst part is they're coming from behind the trees, only inches apart from where I'm standing.
My eyes are wide open and my whole body is shaking, panic rushes through me as I look at a black creature's amber eyes emerging from the dark.
The black beast bares its teeth, and all I keep thinking about is running, but somehow can't afford to. It's not my game, and obviously I won't win in this chase. Yet something in those yellow eyes makes me want to gaze forever into them...
"Rena, wake up!" Derek's voice wakes me up from the horrible nightmare, the same nightmare I always dream about, the same woods, and the same black creature, with the same amber eyes. I'm surprised that I took a long nap inside Derek's car.
We were on the road to Derek's parents, and I'm so excited to meet them, but feeling so nervous too.
Stretching in my seat, I notice it's already dark outside. Suddenly the car starts to slow, and finally parked in front of a huge silver gate. My jaw drops open as I lay eyes on the huge mansion behind the massive silver gate.
I look back at Derek who's looking straight ahead. "You live here?" I ask, pointing to the mansion. His facial expressions are unreadable, and his hands grip the wheel so hard that his knuckles turn white. I narrow my eyes, surprised by his sudden reaction.
Derek's eyes meet my gaze, and a small smirk plays on his face. "something like that" he states, then steps out of the car, opening the door for me.
My eyes roam all over the place. The mansion has large windows, the roof is high and pointed, with dark tiles that give the mansion a regal look. A wild balcony that stretches across the upper floor. A long driveway that leads up to the grand entrance, which was lined with neatly trimmed bushes and flowers. There's also a fountain in the center, adding to the scene a touch of elegance and wealth.
I look around the mansion to notice it's surrounded by trees, as if we're in the middle of woods. My eyes don't catch anything else, no neighbors, no main road...
I stare at Derek, "what is this place? Did you drag me down here to kidnap me and then bury me alive or something" I tease, but the look on Derek's face and the silence that follows deepen my fears.
I took a step back, but he grips my wrist really hard. "What are you doing? If this is some twisted joke, you already won..." I say, but he doesn't let go, "Derek?" I try to fight back, but he's strong in a weird way, his face as cold as ever.
"Don't fight back...you can never escape!" he growls, his voice louder than usual, and even strange.
His charming face turns to a pissed scary one, and his teeth change as if he's turning into a monster.
I start to panic, what does he mean by that? And more importantly, what is he? That's not the face of a normal human!
I glance down at his elbow to see his veins almost bulging out from beneath his skin, then look back to his horrifying face once again, searching for answers.
But suddenly his grip starts to loosen as he looks behind me. "Alpha...She's all yours" Derek says, his voice calm again, bowing slightly.
As I stand there, confusion swirling in my mind, Who is Alpha? And did he just bow?
I'm about to turn when I feel the person Derek was talking with is right behind me, and he's even close.
But before I can react, a rough hand covers my mouth and a piece of white fabric is pressed against my nose. The scent isn't familiar, but it smells sweet. And that makes me realize one thing, I'm being kidnapped.
I start to fight back, my eyes shouting for Derek's help, but he ignores me anyway, looking away from me, and starts to walk away. I try to shout, but I can't.
An overwhelming sense of betrayal brings me close to tears as I watch him walking away.
My breath is fading as I try to push the guy away from me, and my knees start to weaken, but I put all the little energy that's left in my body to turn around, and that's when his amber eyes, and black features meet mine.
I frown, and my teary eyes plead with him to let me go, but he doesn't.
Instead, his other hand reaches for my waist, tightening his grip, as if he's telling me to surrender and stop fighting.
I lose control over my body, and my heavy body falls between his arms...his amber eyes scanning every inch of my face, until my vision blurs...
"In other circumstances, I would've made you all mine" he whispered once more his eyes scanning me from head to toe. I felt my knees weaken, he winked, leaving me standing there unable to move a foot. Does he have to tease me this way? God!! This boy, is going to be the death of me!! What will happen when a girl starts falling for her hot arrogant friend who happens to live the next room? when Scarlett's best friend from childhood Anthony is back to hometown after twelve years, what will happen when she discovers how much he changed? he's this hot irresistible and arrogant guy, who started living with her under the same roof.
"You're mine, little puppy," Kylan growled against my neck. A soft gasp escaped my lips as his lips brushed my skin. My mind screamed at me to push him away-the Lycan Prince who had humiliated me again and again, but my body betrayed me, leaning into him before I could stop myself. He pressed his lips against mine, and his kiss grew more aggressive, more possessive as I felt my legs weaken. What was I doing? In a split-second, I pulled away and slapped him hard across the face. Kylan's eyes darkened, but the smirk on his lips exposed his amusement. "You and I both know we can't fight this, Violet," he said, gripping my wrist. "You're my mate." "And yet you don't want me," I replied. "You told me you were ashamed of me, that l'd never be your queen, that you'd never love me. So please, accept my rejection and let me go." "Never," he whispered, his grip tightening as he pulled me closer. "Soon enough, you'll be begging for me. and when you do-I'll use you as I see fit and then I'll reject you."
