"I, Alpha Damian Williams, future alpha of the white moon pack, rejects you Imelda Stone, of the Crescent pack, as my mate."
I could hear his voice still ringing in my head as I ran. The pain that seared through my heart was one I couldn't bear. It felt as though my heart had been ripped apart into two. The only time I felt this kind of pain was when my mother, the former Luna of the Crescent pack died.
Not wanting to tear up in front of him, I ran off after shifting into my wolf; not without rejecting him.
Though it hurts, I refuse to be an object of ridicule. I am Imelda Stone, the first daughter of Alpha Raiden Stone. I had the blood of an Alpha running through me and I was no weakling. Therefore I was not going to become one because my mate rejected me. Though, my wolf Arla reacted differently, whimpering in pain, wanting nighting else but to be in the arms of our mate.
"Get it together Arla, he doesn't want us," I sneered angrily.
"I know, but it hurts," she whimpered in pain. I could feel the pain too but I refused to let it weigh me down. I just kept running, releasing my anger to the wind.
We had gone to the White Moon pack to make an alliance with them when I met him, my mate. He smelt of ginger bread and snow fluke. My heart soared in happiness and Arla paced about in my head happily. We wanted to meet our mate and be in his arms.
I thought I was lucky to have met my fated mate. Not everyone was privileged to have a mate, only two out of ten wolves ever got lucky to meet their mates. So I was more than glad to have gotten a mate but the moment I walked up to him, he rejected me, claiming he had someone he wanted already.
If not for the alliance that my pack came for, I would have clawed his handsome face and scar him for life. At least, he would use the scar to remember me as the mate he rejected.
But I couldn't do that, it would cause a fight and spoil all the effort my dad put into making the alliance. So I simply accepted his rejection and walked away with my head held up high.
I could hear some wolves approaching and they were not from my pack.
"Rogue wolves," Arla said and a sinister smile curved on my face.
"Perfect timing," I slowed down and allowed them to close in on me. There were three wolves in total.
Two black wolves and a brown wolf. They caught up with me in no time. I growled menacingly, taking my stand.
"What's a lone Wolf like you doing out here on your own, you should be with daddy" one of the wolves circling me taunted. The brown one to be precise. It seemed to be the leader of it's little rogue group.
"None of your business," I sneered.
"If I were you, I'll run off now that I'm still being nice," I added and they growled threateningly.
"Watch your mouth little girl," he growled, glaring at me.
"Get out of my way," I ordered coldly.
"If we don't?"
I smiled wickedly, observing the way they moved. I could tell their weaknesses from their movement already and could take them all easily.
"Your spirits will be the ones to leave here, leaving your dead body behind."
"How dare you!" the brown wolf growled and charged at me, coming for my throat.
I easily side tracked him and bit down on his legs, ripping his flesh off.
He howled out in pain, not expecting my attack. Seeing one of theirs hurt, the two other black wolves charged at me at once.
I flipped backwards and they collided into each other. Before they could recover, I attacked one of the black wolves and ripped it's wind pipe out of it's throat and it went limp to the ground. My canines and fur were stained with it's blood and it irritated me.
One thing about rogue wolves is that, their attacks are not always coordinated. They attack without thinking which is what gives me an edge over them.
Distracted by the blood in my mouth, I didn't see the brown wolf charging at me. He slammed me into the tree and came charging at me again .
Not this time asshole!
I groaned in pain, pushing myself forward and then stabbed him in the belly with my claws, ripping his belly open.
He fell to the ground and shifted back to a naked man, gagging on his own blood.
The last wolf ran to him and nuzzled it's neck trying to get him to stand up. Seems they were mates. The brown streaked wolf was howling in pain as it clung close to her dead mate.
"Now you're making me feel bad, you should have left when I gave you the chance," I looked at the man in pity and shook my head. He was gone and can't be saved.
I turned to leave, leaving the wolf to mourn her dead mate. I decided to show her mercy since she just lost her mate. She might as well kill herself if she is unable to handle the pain.
Although I didn't know what it feels like to lose a mate, I know what it felt like to be rejected. I'm certain the pain that comes with losing a mate is far more painful than being rejected.
But well who was I kidding. She certainly isn't going to let go of her mate's death just like that. I felt her coming from behind, once she was close enough, I moved to the side and she landed roughly on the ground. She is really bad at sneak attacks. I could hear her paws hitting the ground aggressively even before she got close enough and I could feel the anger rolling off her in waves as well.
She got up from the ground quickly and charged at me again. I limped away, avoiding her claws. The brown wolf injured my leg when he slammed me into the tree and it is yet to heal.
"I don't want to hurt you, you just lost a mate. You should be mourning him and not trying to kill me." What I said, seemed to have provoked her, although I didn't mean to actually provoke her.
She charged at me more aggressively this time and tried to claw out my throat. I bit down on her paw, ripping her claw out and she howled out in pain, sending the birds flying away in fright.
Not waiting for her to recover, I ripped out her heart and she fell limp to the floor.
I really didn't want to kill her, but she wouldn't listen when I asked her to leave. I dumped her heart on the floor and dragged her to her mate, laying them side by side.
I wasn't so bad anyways, rather than mourn her dead mate forever, I helped her join him since she misses him so much already.
With one last glance at them, I walked away, feeling light headed and calmer after killing these rogue wolves.
"Let's go home Arla," I said to my wolf and she purred as we walked back home to our pack.
