Katie's POV
"Paul! I'm home," I called out to my boyfriend of three years in our home, but no response.
"Is he not home?" I wondered to myself as I wander into the house. That was when I started to hear strange noise coming from our bedroom, I hurried down the hall towards the bedroom door, it sounded like moaning.
As I neared opened the door, it was indeed moaning. I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I should enter. But my curiosity and fear got the best of me and I pushed the door open, only to find Paul in bed with another woman.
My heart shattered into a million pieces as I saw them tangled together, their bodies moving in unison. The woman glanced at me for a moment and smirked before returning her attention to Paul.
I felt a rage boil inside of me as I stormed towards them, grabbing the nearest object - a glass vase - and hurled it at them. It shattered against the wall, startling them both.
"What the hell, Katie?" Paul exclaimed as he sat up, his naked body exposed. The woman next to him scrambled to cover herself with the sheets.
"You cheating bastard!" I screamed at him, tears streaming down my face. "After everything we've been through, how could you do this to me?"
Paul tried to explain himself, but I didn't want to hear it. I grabbed a lamp and threw it at him. I threw it with all the strength I had, this was a fucking lie right? I saw red, and couldn't see straight.
"Katie stop!" Paul shouted as the woman scrambled away from us. She was dressed now and rushed from the room. But I didn't care, my mind was blank as I grabbed the first thing in front of me, which was a vase, and threw it at him.
"You fucking bitch!" Paul shouted as he picked up the vase. For a moment, I thought he was getting up. But then I noticed that he was simply moving away, putting distance between us.
"Katie, we can still fix this, just calm down," Paul said to me.
I scoffed, "To hell with you and your fixing," I halted at him and exited the room.
"Katie, come back! We can still work this out!" Paul shouted after me as I ran to the bathroom.
I felt the tears returning, and I laughed, "Work what out? You're a lying scumbag!" Anger consumed me again. I put my hand in the sink, grabbing the first object I could find - this time it was Paul's razor - and flung it at the mirror.
I could hear him step into the bathroom, but I didn't care. I grabbed the shampoo bottle and tossed it at the mirror, until it shattered, showering me with glass. I suddenly felt Paul's arm grab me from behind and pull me away from the sink.
"Katie, stop this, you're going to hurt yourself," I heard him say. But I didn't stop my tirade of rage until the bathroom was trashed.
By then I was out of breath, panting and feeling the anger rush out of me as tears ran down my face.
"I hate you Paul, so much." I declared and slowly walked out of the bathroom to the front door.
So, I left.
I wandered around the street for a while until I found myself at the entrance of the local pub down the road, and i thought to myself, "Why not drink the night away?"
The pub was quite busy and I managed to grab the last seat in the bar, which was next to the bar. A young woman took my order and set my drink down in front of me. I didn't notice where she went after that.
I gulped down my first drink, it slid down easily - it was my third - and I was already beginning to feel the burn. The alcohol was helping to ease my mind, but I was still pissed off.
I was ready to down my fourth drink when I felt a tap on my shoulder, turning my head to see who it was, and that was when I noticed the freckled face and dark brown hair of the girl from before.
"Don't mind if I join you?" she asked. I didn't respond and simply turned my head away from her.
"I'll take that as a yes," she said as she sat beside me. "I'm Alyssa. And you are?"
I looked at her and knew I was already getting tipsy, "I'm tipsy," a giggle followed and she smiled at my childishness, but I didn't mind and I was too heartbroken to care.
Suddenly she announced, "Let's be drinking buddies." Exactly what I needed, so I ordered another round of alcohol for us and we began to drink.
It wasn't long before my favorite song came on, so I dragged my new buddy down to the dance floor and we started to dance.
I was having a great time, she was a good dancer and we were having fun together. Until she moved closer to me, and then I felt her hand against my leg, and I knew what she was trying to do.
But at this point, I didn't care. I was tipsy, and drunk and madly in love with someone who didn't love me back.
I suddenly pulled away from him and I came face to face to someone else, even with my blurry vision I was able to make out a figure of a man.
I looked around, drunkenly, "What?" I mumbled, feeling the man's hand around my neck, pulling down my shirt.
"Freya?" I heard his deep voice in my ears, but I couldn't make out any meaning to it.
I simply giggled as this strange man felt through my neck like he was looking for something, then it stopped.
"You're not her, you can continue your fun," he whispered in my ears again and turned to leave, but I held him back.
He turned to question me, and I tried to answer his unasked question, but as I opened my mouth, I couldn't hold back the vomit.
I threw up all over him and ended it with, "oops," and a giggle.
"What the fuck?!" He shouted and his voice boomed over the club noise, but I didn't care as I dropped on the ground like a sack.
Clearly drunk.
