Chapter 1
Alice stood at the entrance of Devon's study, staring at him with fear in her eyes as Lucas reported to him. Her hand was on her now protruding bump as her heart raced in fear...
"Are you sure about this?" Devon asked, not wanting to believe what he was hearing. "Yes Alpha, words got to me a few moments ago" Lucas answered in a low voice. Alice became light-headed and stumbled backwards due to the news. Devon and Lucas immediately rushed to her side. Devon held his mate in his arms and sighed deeply. This was the worst news ever, and I regretted that Alice heard the news with him.
"I will be right back" Lucas nodded and watched as Devon led his mate away. He was shocked too when Kace told him about it.
Alice's body trembled as she let Devon lead her towards the bed so she could lie down. When he made sure she was comfortable, he was about to leave to call the pack doctor, but Alice stopped him. "Is it true, how could she escape so easily?" She asked in a troubled voice. Devon didn't have an answer to any of her questions because he was as shocked as her. "Don't worry, my love, she will be caught very soon. Everything will be fine" He assured her and planted a soft kiss on her forehead.
"What About Joan? What if she tries to harm her like before." There was fear in Alice's voice, and Devon hated to see her afraid again. He wanted her to be at ease because of the baby...
"And Johnathan, we need to warn them. Where is Diana when we need her." Alice said and ran her hand through her hair. She took a deep breath...
"Someone would have helped her. I doubt it was Ash.. he helped us before. Who do you think it is?"
"Alice, please calm down" Devon said, and she finally looked at him with a bit of tears in her eyes. "The baby. The baby must be safe" She said in a pleading tone, and Devon nodded and hugged her.
"The baby always will be safe, my love... I promise..."
Alice held on to Devon's words, and he stayed with her till she fell asleep before he left the room quietly and went back to his study to gather more information about what Lucas had told him. Lucas and Kace were waiting for him already. They had deep frowns on their respective faces.
Devon walked to his table and took a seat. "Could you explain to me in detail?" He asked, and Lucas went straight into it.
"This morning, words came from our men at the Palace about Hazel's Escape and..." Lucas trailed off, knowing Devon would be infuriated by what he was going to say next. "And?..." Devon demanded.
"It's been over a month since her escape"
"What!" Devon yelled out. He knew it was Liam's doing. He purposely kept such news away from him. Devon ran his hand through his hair and sighed. This was more alarming than he had imagined. If Liam wasn't able to find her till now, then it was a cause for alarm. He thought everything was finally going to be back to normal. Devon thought about his Luna and unborn child, and he fisted his hand... he was going to keep them safe at all costs...

Alice opened her eyes and saw that she was back at the lake. "Joan, Johnathan!" She yelled out her friend's names but didn't get a response. She sighed... Why is this happening now? Joan, Joan would be in danger. She was no longer at the Palace and Alice had tried her best to find out where Joan was but The last time she had spoken to her friend was almost a month ago when they met at the lake and Joan had told her she had left the Palace and wasn't sure she was ever going to return. She looked so heartbroken at that time, and Alice had urged her to tell her where she was, but Joan refused. She didn't want Liam to have an idea of where she was. Alice had assured her that she wouldn't tell Liam where she was, but Joan had only simply said that when they saw each other again.
How was she going to tell Joan about this? She feared for her friend. She had been seeing Jonathan regularly. He was on a trip with Lilac from what he had told her. No one knew where Diana went off, too, but she was sure the witch would be back anytime from now because of the news of Hazel's escape.
"Alice" Alice heard a tranquil familiar voice call out to her... "Moon goddess" She exclaimed and whipped her head around to see Selene staring at her with a smile on her face. She got up and walked to where Selene was. Selene eyed Alice's bump, and she felt her heart swell in joy.
"Alice" The moon goddess reached out and gave her a warm hug.
"I know," Selene said when they broke the hug, and Alice opened her mouth to say something to her. "Do you know where she is?" Alice asked. Hoping Selene would tell her where her friend was. "I do, but it's not my job to tell," Selene replied. Alice wasn't happy with this response.
"But we have to find her to keep her safe. Please tell me where she is" Alice pleaded, Selene just smiled.
"She will be fine. You all will be fine" ...

"Supreme Alpha, you need to take control of yourself", Lucas couldn't address Devon without his proper title when his wolf is out. That was because he was in a lower rank than Devon. Devon ignored his words and came out the back door, before Lucas could protest he was gone. "Devon! Devon!" Lucas yelled after Devon trying to stop him, but it was to no avail. "What is happening?" Lucas muttered to himself. He unbuckled his seat belt quickly and ran after Devon as fast as he could when he saw how fast Devon was moving. Lucas was finding it hard to keep up with Devon's pace."Alpha supreme Devon!" He shouted, trying to get through to Devon who was going super fast. Devon didn't heed his voice as his eyes were fixed on where he was heading to. He took a right turn into an alley and leapt, confusing Lucas who was already finding it hard to keep up. Lucas knew how ferocious and dangerous their wolf was when it came out. They only let their wolf out when they needed to protect something or be violent. Lucas's phone vibrated in his pocket distracting him a little, he missed it when Devon took a right turn at another alley, "Shit!" Lucas cursed out loud when he could no longer see Devon in sight. He had no idea why Devon was that way, where was he headed? He wondered. The last time Devon's wolf went out of control there was bloodshed in the pack, he hoped the case was different this time. After searching around for a while Lucas finally found Devon at an intersection. He was standing there staring at a house, close by. Lucas was glad they were in the middle of the night, if it was day it would have caused problems for them. Humans were never to know of the supernatural world, it was a rule they had been keeping for centuries. "Alpha supreme" Lucas called him softly, after letting out a deep breath. "Where are you headed, you have to tell me so I can help you" Lucas tried to persuade him, but Devon stood unmoving without uttering a word. Devon let out a deep growl ready to move again, and Lucas was ready to follow him. "Devon wait! Where are we headed?" Lucas asked again but wasn't expecting to get an answer from Devon. "To see my mate" Devon the Supreme Alpha of all the werewolves and Lycanthropes in the human, have been rumoured to be cursed by the moon goddess as he has lived for many centuries without finding his mate. Everything changes when finds Alice his mate, A human, who some people believes to be crazy. Together her and Devon unravels chilling secrets about their past and enjoy the new found feeling called 'Love'
I was sitting in the Presidential Suite of The Pierre, wearing a Vera Wang gown worth more than most people earn in a decade. It was supposed to be the wedding of the century, the final move to merge two of Manhattan's most powerful empires. Then my phone buzzed. It was an Instagram Story from my fiancé, Jameson. He was at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with a caption that read: "Fuck the chains. Chasing freedom." He hadn't just gotten cold feet; he had abandoned me at the altar to run across the world. My father didn't come in to comfort me. He burst through the door roaring about a lost acquisition deal, telling me the Holland Group would strip our family for parts if the ceremony didn't happen by noon. My stepmother wailed about us becoming the laughingstock of the Upper East Side. The Holland PR director even suggested I fake a "panic attack" to make myself look weak and sympathetic to save their stock price. Then Jameson’s sleazy cousin, Pierce, walked in with a lopsided grin, offering to "step in" and marry me just to get his hands on my assets. I looked at them and realized I wasn't a daughter or a bride to anyone in that room. I was a failed asset, a bouncing check, a girl whose own father told her to go to Paris and "beg" the man who had just publicly humiliated her. The girl who wanted to be loved died in that mirror. I realized that if I was going to be sold to save a merger, I was going to sell myself to the one who actually controlled the money. I marched past my parents and walked straight into the VIP holding room. I looked the most powerful man in the room—Jameson’s cold, ruthless uncle, Fletcher Holland—dead in the eye and threw the iPad on the table. "Jameson is gone," I said, my voice as hard as stone. "Marry me instead."

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.
Abandoned as a child and orphaned by murder, Kathryn swore she'd reclaim every shred of her stolen birthright. When she returned, society called her an unpolished love-child, scoffing that Evan had lost his mind to marry her. Only Evan knew the truth: the quiet woman he cradled like porcelain hid secrets enough to set the city trembling. She doubled as a legendary healer, an elusive hacker, and the royal court's favorite perfumer. At meetings, the directors groaned at the lovey-dovey couple, "Does she really have to be here?" Evan shrugged. "Happy wife, happy life." Soon her masks fell, and those who sneered bowed in awe.
Linsey was stood up by her groom to run off with another woman. Furious, she grabbed a random stranger and declared, "Let's get married!" She had acted on impulse, realizing too late that her new husband was the notorious rascal, Collin. The public laughed at her, and even her runaway ex offered to reconcile. But Linsey scoffed at him. "My husband and I are very much in love!" Everyone thought she was delusional. Then Collin was revealed to be the richest man in the world. In front of everyone, he got down on one knee and held up a stunning diamond ring. "I look forward to our forever, honey."
