Ashley crosses paths with Dylan and he becomes attracted to her. She seeks his assistance academically and they fall in love by that. Ashley discovers Dylan's father's plans to hunt down all the werewolves in the city as revenge for his first love. She decides to avoid Dylan and contemplates revealing this plan to her father as the daughter of the alpha. Dylan notices the unusual behaviour and tries to confront her. He makes a shocking discovery and she is forced to reveal his father's plans to him. Her father realises her commitment to the son of a human and forbids her from going out with him. Now, they work together to protect themselves and their families in spite of all the challenges and drama they go through.
"I look better today" Ashley commented sarcastically pouting her mouth while gazing in dissatisfaction at her reflection. She was a red hair with pleasing bodily features; her round face commented her slender body down to her waist. From her thighs down, she was more robust and this made her body perfect. All these features were useless as she had to disguise herself everyday she stepped out of her house achieving an unapproachable look.
She was an alpha daughter, she had to disguise to discourage any form of attention drawing to her family but she also had to go to school.
Styling her hair into a messy bun, Martha, the housekeeper and her make up artist touched up her face to look quite displeasing. Her perfectly carved eyebrows wer. ruined by the shapeless drawing and touches Martha had given to them. A mole was attached to her upper chin giving her the looks of a hostile fourth grade teacher with no love life. Her outfit always complemented this look as Martha would always choose a shabby looking skirt which floated way below her knees and a low life aesthetic blouse to go with. It always looked like she lived in the 80s.
"Can't I be myself just one day? I look hideous" Ashley expressed while examining the monster like mole Martha had placed on her face. "And endanger to the whole pack?" Martha replied raising her brows at Ashley's reflection. "You're an alpha daughter. We cannot risk exposing you to any form of threat or danger. You'll get a mate from the pack in no time. Damian will return and take his place as the alpha. Then you will have freedom to go out everyday as Tera, the mate to a loving pack member" she said aiming to raise Ashley's hope and brighten her face. "Well it sucks to be Ashley" she commented.
Ashley was known as Tera in the wolf pack but had to assume a new name and a new identity to protect her family and the pack. Cole, her brother had moved out of Brimswood to study at a young age of 5. He would return after college and become the alpha after his father.
Ashley would disguise until she found a mate from the pack and identify as his lover. The Brimswood moonlight pack relied on the blood of the alpha for survival. It was ritual every full moon to drink the blood of the alpha. If this was missed, the pack would be lost as all members would die before the next full moon. Therefore, the alpha of the pack has to be protected at all cost resorting to making him untraceable. Ashley was also untraceable to every member of the pack during the day. She was only known as Tera at night when the pack met. After every gathering of the moonlight pack, Tera would vanish to no existence.
Martha reached out to her kangaroo pocket and revealed a neck piece. The pendant was carved into a star made out of pure diamond. She swung it across Ashley's neck trying to brighten up her face. "I used to be an alpha's daughter, trust me, soon you'll be free" "I don't know if this should make me feel better or dread this more" Ashley commented releasing her breath. " I should get going". She said scanning the room for her backpack.
They lived in the thick woods at the end of Brimswood. A personal driver took Ashley to school everyday and stayed in school till it was time to go home to ensure she did not leave school for any reason. No one noticed her or the driver as her looks did not draw any attention and her bodily make up which would have done a great deal in giving her a little attention was covered in the regalia of a breastfeeding wife everyday.
Ashley hurried through the walkway of Brimswood high as she was almost late to class. An everyday routine for her. Running to meet up with classes no matter how early she wakes to put on a hideous look. She was always alone. The halls would be cleared whenever she ran through. This day seemed different. While she ran to meet up before everyone settled in geometry class, she noticed someone walk behind her. He seemed unbothered about being late. She did not recognise him to be a student at Brimswood, infact, she had never seen him anywhere in Brimswood. It wasn't a really large town, almost everyone could recognise each other. The wolves coexisted with the humans and they were quite conversant with one another. But what did she care? No one knew her and it would be pointless to make enquiries. He probably would snob her as he walked with so much prestige. By now her pace had reduced and the blonde had caught up with her. "Exhausted already?" He asked face front and still heading towards the class. N-o no... she stuttered. She had never come across such perfect masculinity. His blonde short hair complemented his oval face and his pointed nose. His cologne smelt divine and his leather jacket did little or no work hiding his muscular physique. "Are... y-o-u from... around" she could not help but inquire. "I moved in two days ago. Finally settling with my family". He said smiling. "But now, we should go. I don't want to give a bad impression on my first day, maybe I'll show that side of me much later. I'll see you later". He said and walked forward. She dropped her head and walked towards her class. She figured he was going the same way. She suddenly felt excited. Now, they were late to geometry after the short chat. "Oh! Same grade. Guess I'll be running into you more often than expected" Dylan said as they approached the class.
All gaze was fixed on the new demigod as he stepped foot into the class. Everything about him was perfect and spoke luxury. The werewolves amongst them could not help the beam he came with either. Mr Cole, the geometry teacher stood in anticipation of the drama to end. "This is your new grade mate, Dylan..." "...Simon" Suzy cut in interfering with Mr Cole's introduction. She walked up to him and hugged him giving Ashley a shabbish look. "Dylan hunny, why would you walk with such a low life?". She asked with an attitude and an irritated gaze on Ashley. "Oh Suzy, dad told me I would meet you in school" Dylan said withdrawing from Suzy's embrace. She flung her hands around his chest trying to make an impression. "That's enough Suzy". Mr Cole said as he directed her back to her seat. "Like I said with the help of Suzy, of course, this is Bryan Simon. He is joining from Campwood Academy, Australia. He barely knows anything about Brimswood as he has lived in Australia almost all his life. Now I expect everyone to be nice to him and offer help so he will settle in just fine". He said. "Oh Dylan hunny, there is a seat right beside me..." Suzy said giving Hannah an intimidating stare making Hannah give up her seat for the new boy. Ashley felt overly irritated by Suzy's actions already. She had disliked Suzy for years because she always bullied her and made a ridicule of her looks. Now, she was throwing herself all over the new boy for reasons known to only herself. ...have some shame.. her mind spoke to Suzy. She wouldn't dare speak out loud. "Oh and Ashley, get seated so we begin for today" Mr Cole said and she walked carefully to her seat with her gaze fixed on the floor. "Pstt... you aren't low life" Dylan whispered as she walked past him. She gave a little smirk and proceeded to get seated.
