**You who stalks in the silent shadows**
Abe Grayson.
The heat emitting from the sun that afternoon was much.
In a huge clearing in the thick forest, The Werewolves of the lichen Pack were gathered. Abe Could hear gentle gurgling of a small creek by the forest.
Sunlight making polka-dots on the ground, lighting up dead tree trunks where shelf fungus grows like dinner plates for the creatures inhabiting its sanctuary.
He had just finished his run and had entered the tent to prepare to meet his pack.
Abe knew he would take over one day from his father, but he never knew that it would be too soon, saying "My pack" sounded eerie in his head.
It was a big meeting, Many Werewolves had left the human realm to come here, Lichen pack was one of the biggest in The supernatural world, but they were often a target. Exactly what didn't make sense to him was the fact that they were targeted despite being feared.
He was literally burning with Anger and a certain emotion that was negative, he just couldn't give it a name yet and it was eating him inside.
He looked out from the tent, Everything was set, they were waiting for him to give them the Speech, the go ahead.
His Father The Alpha of The lichen Pack Was murdered during the war between his pack and the Green moss pack, unfortunately it was a raided attack.
Hendrick his father and other Werewolves had sacrificed their lives during the fight.
Abe was boiling with Rage, Just remembering it. He wished he had Gone to that war, he wished he was there, he could have stopped this, Stopped his father's death, maybe even prevented it.
"It is never your fault, stop forcing it! "
Zafron his Wolf grunted.
He remained silent, Thinking. What was he going to Say to them?.
Jack a tousled, curly-haired blond man in his middle twenties walked in, he was Abe's beta and bestfriend, he had a pale skin and blue eyes.
"We are ready and waiting Abe, You can come out now"he spoke as Abe sighed.
Would his people be happy with him?. He was going to tell them something that might make them dissapointed in him and it was all because of the discussion he had with his Father's sister and aunt Ash.
Last night she had told him about a curse which was placed on the lichen Pack. Abe was beyond shocked. Why didn't his father tell him when he was alive?
He understood that his mother died when she gave birth to him, so she was out of the question. As ash did the training and raising him up.
But why didn't his father tell him about the curse, Was that why he only trained Abe inside the pack lands, and made Abe oversee his empire in the human realm.
Was that why Abe Grayson was never allowed to go on actual wars?.
All this questions hunted him.
That nameless negative emotion came in again, he clenched his fist and stepped out of the tent.
His aunt Ash was standing with Jack just infront of the pack, she had a black short hair, pointed nose and small black eyes.
Abe wasn't looking at them, but could feel their peering eyes following him As he mounted the hill just infront of where they stood, The wind from the trees rushed him. Giving him strength.
He began.
"My Father, Alpha Hendrick Grayson will forever remain in our hearts,"
They all yelled in agreement.
" But we shall continue to be strong, despite the opposition!" He stared at their faces now
Clearing his throat for the story time.
"I know the desire to revenge and to Avenge our loved ones who we lost in the battle is burning and churning in everyone of us, but unfortunately I have been told of a curse that is not only disturbing, but has propelled me and this pack helpless"
Abe had to tell his people, he wondered why his father hid it from them and him, they had the right to know.
He stared at Ash and gave her the podium, he just couldn't say it cause it sounded absurd, truly stupid and unreasonable to him.
Ash spoke up with confidence. She was in her late forties but was as strong as a twenty year old.
"A long time ago one of our fore Alpha's from the lichen Pack who was drunk and intoxicated had offended the moon goddess by taking advantage of a Guardian Angel and raping her to death.
This angered the moon goddess who, out of anger placed a curse on the pack. The curse was the Misleading curse.
It stated that without a Luna, the Alpha's of our pack would not only lose any battle but may also lose their lives when they have come of age. So our Alpha's survival was dependent on a Luna." She continued.
There was murmuring in the group now.
" The pack warriors were aware of the curse. That's why they dedicated their lives to protecting King Hendrick when his wife and Luna lost her life while birthing Alpha Abe"
It all made sense to Abe now.
After the Wolf prayer, Abe sent everyone back to their different positions and asked them to continue living in the natural world till they were needed.
His father was one of the richest men in the human realm, more of an entrepreneur and the pack members took charge of the various entertainment companies around the world which he owned and which Abe was now the owner of in California and beyond.
In the human world he was a big shot but here in the pack lands he felt like his little self, the little boy that loved the river, the wet grass and the smell of pine wood.
When they had arrived at the human world days later, he accompanied his aunt Ash to the airport, she was in charge of the Grayson's entertainment agency in China so she was to go back there. Before Kissing him good bye, she spoke to him.
"Your father didn't want you to live your whole life thinking about finding a mate, that was why he never told you, please do not resent him," she placed her right hand on his cheek.
"You will find your mate the natural way and Come back to destroy the Green Moss pack, I Know you will"
Abe nodded, he didn't resent his father he actually resented the whole Luna thing.
He was not one of those who knew what falling in love was, he was more of a player and most times committed to one night stands.
Maybe it was the moon goddess's curse, Maybe the only person who was worthy of his love would be his Luna, but who was she? And where was she?.
He was twenty years old when his aunt had told him about finding his mate.
It all made sense to him, and it was the moon goddess he resented, she was playing games with him. His beta Jack had found mate and had her by his side at 18, but his was no where to be found.
Not that he cared, but he was doing fine before he heard that his f**king life depended on him finding a mate.
Present day-
15 years later.
He used his hand to brush his chestnut long hair backwards and put on his sunglasses to cover his green eyes as his body guards opened the door for him. Abe was just returning from the Airport after signing a huge buisness deal with a company in Beijing , China.
He spoke to his driver and gamma Ebal.
"Take me to the office"
______
The affluence and Popularity of Abe Grayson was much that he had like two to three SUVs trailing him all the time. About six bodyguards on duty when he was out on social gatherings and an entire security team in his mansion.
As they got to the gates of the company, reporters and journalists crowded the place like flies.
Abe was about to take up the windows when his nose caught a scent. It was like eucalyptus, an appealing scent that could not be described. His eyes turned dead black as Zafron spoke up.
"Mate"
He asked Ebal to stop the car. A confused Ebal looked at him.
"But Alpha Abe, this is the paparazzi. We run from them "
He immediately opened the door and stepped out. The reporters were now all over him but Abe didn't care he only followed the scent.
They were asking him about how the deal with The entertainment company in Beijing went, But he wasn't really interested in their questions.
His body guards cleared the way for him and got them off him. Just then the scent led him to a delicate featured blond who had large brown eyes, she wore a suit and short skirt. He didn't waste anytime as he dragged her by the hand.
"Come with me.."
