Chapter 1 Extract

"Dad, Dad" a girl screamed as she ran down the stairs to a man on the ground covered in the pool of his own blood.

"Dad, mom" the girl yelled seeing her mom just sit there on the floor staring at the her dead husband without doing a thing. It was obvious she had been crying and now looked like a ghost.

"Dad, Dad" the girl wept as she lifted his hands and they fell back.

She turned around and watched her little brother stagger backwards falling to the ground. She got up and burst out crying not knowing who to console, she didn't know if to try talking to their mom who was looking almost dead or her little brother on the floor looking shattered.

"Baby, it's....." She wanted to say it was going to be fine but broke off, she couldn't lie to him because she knew it wasn't. She wished she could tell him their dad was only sleeping and would wake up soon but he was wiser than that already. He could already tell what was happening and probably didn't want to accept it. She wished she could tell him it was all a dream, that it was all a nightmare but it wasn't and even if she wished it was it would never be.

"Mom" she called but their mom didn't even make a noise or move an inch.

"Baby, it's alright, it's alright" she said hugging her Younger brother tight to herself as she wept, he didn't make any noise or shed any tears. He had seen it all, they had raped his mother countless times in front of their dad and killed him right after, they would have killed their mother but they knew she was already traumatized and was useless so they didn't. They left her as a living ghost. He knew it all because him and his sister had watched everything from their rooms where the people didn't know they were.

He had seen it all and it was killing him, he didn't know if to let out the tears or if to yell. He could hear his sister whisper words of comfort as she hugged him, telling him he was going to be fine but he knew it was never going to be.

Soon the sound of siren filled the air as the ambulance came and took the body away, he tried telling the cops what he saw but his sister shut him up. She was right, they wouldn't believe him and even if they did, they would do nothing about it because the man they were pointing at would jail them all.

But at that point as the boy and his sister left with their mom, something died inside of him. Something that may never came back, something that turned him into a beast.

Years later, they were inside a new house and from the surrounding it was evident that they had gotten everything they had back and even more. His sister was trying to force their mom to eat something when the TV came on.

"His the one, he killed him, he killed my husband" the woman yelled pointing at the TV as she was restricted by the girl.

After that incident, she had been like that. The doctor said the incident had affected her brain and that she would never be normal again, that seeing her husband die and been raped all in one day was too much for her.

When asked if there was a remedy the doctor said "Probably only time could tell what the future held for her"

The little boy of back then who had now grown, took a sip from the wine in his hands as he watched the news.

"Mr Benson wins the world most industrious business man award" the newscaster read out with a smile as she played the video of the award night and talked about the man.

Just then his sister walked over and put off the TV before turning to him.

"You know you don't have to do this right, it's been years. Why can't we just let it pass" she said and the boy chuckled bitterly turning to look at their mom who was now on the floor crying mummering the same thing she had been mummering for years.

"They killed him, they killed him" she cried on the floor and the girl sighed knowing what her brother was thinking.

"Forget about it, you say? Well sis you should know the reason why I am who I am today is because of that bastard" he yelled angrily and the girl flinched as he threw the glass to the wall.

"Today is the day I have been waiting for, for years. The day he achieve something big, so that when he falls he would never be able to get up"he said and his sister shook her head.

"You know she's innocent right" the sister said and the boy laughed picking his jacket he walked towards the door before turning around.

"And mom was too, take care of her and stay out of my business" he said and slammed the door.

He was going to fulfill a promise, a promise he made years ago and he was going to do it all today.
